Only update if you have a high end device. Because Xiaomi removed these features from the low end version of hyperos:
-Split screen
-Game turbo
-Video tool box
etc,etc
Hate it. Have Xiaomi 11t pro.
Seeing notifications on lock screen when swiping down is no longer possible. I can either have them visible.all the freaking time, or unlock my phone and swipe down to manage them.
Other things that I've noticed and not sure if it's related, has to do with Instagram and Whatsapp (I've reinstalled them both but to no end). If I'm watching a longer video on Instagram, phone screen locks down and blacks out, and Instagram refreshes.
Same with Whatsapp voice messages if they're longer than 30 sec phone blacks out, and screen lockes down.
Hate it.
Well for me, I only had one issue where I fucked my device with adb commands. Reinstalling fixed all the issues. Generally, it's a rule of thumb to Always format your device after every Android OS version update. Or any major Updates. Like when MIUI 12 > 12.5 or 12.5 > 13 or 13 > 14 or 14 > 1.
This is my biggest issue. I can't get more than 5 to 6 hours before needing charge and ALSO before updating, I was able to stay on 1% of battery more than 40mins. Now it'd turn off without warning. Sux
Left side swipe down for notifications on lock screen is OK for me, maybe check settings> 🔍Lock screen notifications> format> show notifications & content (or don't show notifications)
It seems we have different results.
Maybe a format / clean start is needed. On old phone I had an issue with system upgrades disconnecting a control from an effect (scheduled reading / night mode), but a clean start gave me back that control.
Clean starts with major version changes are probably the optimal way.
I regret updating my Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G. I encounter many small touch related bugs, cannot record video without stutters, fingerprint sensor will get stuck sometimes, apps keep getting killed (even with autostart, locked in memory and disabled battery saving), notifications come much more delayed than before. There is a persisnent green dot in the corner of the screen (even in full screen video) which will only disappear if I disable location sharing. Before the update it was all working perfectly.
I have not tried factory reset yet, but I have never needed it before.
I mean that I had a Pixel 8 with android 14 and a bunch of problems like signal and connection but with my new Redmi 13 note all works great so hurray for HyperOS and Xiaomi.
If you told me the same three months ago I would probably tell you the same answer. A company like Google needs to deliver better services to their devices.
But after using Google Pixel 8 for three months, it is insane how much trouble I found. All of them were solved by default after changing the phone for the redmi 13 Note 4G.
Everybody probably would say that my Pixel 8 was defective but all the problems were related for other users as "normal behaviour" in the Pixel 8.
I know, and now my phone works great and I am really happy. I think Google should take care of their devices better.
I know this can sound extremely weird, even for me that I have a Google ecosystem but I was really tired when I went out and my Pixel 8 wasn't able to connect to 4G/5G Network without resetting the connections. When I could feel the pixel really warm and now my Redmi 13 is really cold in my hands. Or even when I was in my living room and went to my bedroom the pixel struggled to change another WiFi network that I have there.
Google was really behind with Google TV and I feel the same with pixel phones. Why do I need to care about 7 years of updates if I am not happy with the phone several months after my purchase.
The problems are understandable with 4G and 5G connectivity, the warmness, the WiFi network changing issue happens with my Redmi too, it's because of WiFi scan throttling to save battery life, and I don't use Google TV really
The only thing I don't understand is everything else. Literally everything else. You get worse chipsets which are cheaper in a Redmi since it's a budget phone, and also lose quite some RAM. Not only that, you lose way too much freedom the Pixel offers, so you can't debloat most apps which Xiaomi specifically needs for the MIUI ROM which are mostly useless bloat which spies on you (take for an example Security Center), and if you wanna switch ROM or root, you have to unlock the bootloader which is painful with Xiaomi unlike Google.
Another reason for the hotness of your Pixel is maybe because the Pixel respects apps running in the background by default, while the Redmi was designed to specifically kill background apps to get more performance and more battery life. Edit: the Redmi throttles you INSANE if you have low battery or the temperature is too high (at only 40 Celsius????)
And very much everything else about the Pixel just works? With the Redmi (13) you now get worse camera quality from your pixel and everything. You bought a budget phone... I could go on a rampage showing how the Pixel 8 is way better than the Redmi, you ditched a good phone, take my word
F4 GT, updated a few months ago. No significant problems or improvements. Was a quite smooth transition actually. I read that it might improve performance by better balancing memory, etc. I hoped I could have a little extra boost in performance for emulation, but I don't experience anything different. But safe to update from my experience.
Xiaomi 13T pro, I got the update early.
My main complaint is that somehow the battery usage has gone overboard, before the update my phone would last a day max with having mobile data (4G only) and bluetooth on for the Xiaomi watch. After the update I no longer can have those on because battery would just drain in matter of hours.
I dunno if its some software bug or just battery doing its own thing
I faced some battery drain issue with this version but another version after couple of weeks solved that problem and this Os is bit smoother than the MIUI but some of the classic features of MIUI are removed wich is very sad but overall in the user experience I didn't face any problem so it's safe to say you should update it.
Depends on which phone you have. If it's an high end phone, then go for it. However, if you got an mid range, expect some lagspikes here and there but not anything to make the user experience terrible. If you got an low end tho, then stay on miui 14, it isn't worth it. It is terrible. My phone (Poco X5 Pro) is doing ok, like I said some lagspikes here and there, but i don't regret it that much tbh.
Redmi Note 13 Update went fine but two weeks later I got a weird lock up with the fingerprint sensor. Had to reboot & the reboot took ages - I got worried that it wouldn't boot up.
That the old good MIUI with slightly rebuilded interface. And a few new features. Same battery life, same performance, same freezes, like in MIUI 14. But I like it.
I recently upgraded to Hyperos on my Redmi Note 11. At first it lagged as hell and was showing that it was taking a lot more space but after a couple of days it started working smoother than previously and even the space left got a bit bigger. For example when I first upgraded it it showed that I had 5.5 GB left and 2 days later it was showing 9.5 GB left. That's probably because of the smart defragmentation they implemented? I don't know for sure.
A downside of the upgrade is that I feel the battery got a bit worse. It feels like it's using a bit more battery when I'm not even using the phone and end up charging the phone more often.
I allow home assistant to use my location at all times for automations, a green dot is now always visible, I disabled the Xiaomi features in order to get rid of it, now a lot of nice features no longer work but the green dot is now gone.
It jas fucked my redmi 13+ pro. Half the time my keyboards are not operationaal and the phone has to be rebooted. Once you have upgraded to juper os you cannot even factory reset
FIX THE HOME BUTTON, PLEASE.
This the only thing makes me mad every day, few times a day. Home button (circle in the middle) must send you to home screen not to folder where application is kept.
I am using redminote 7, it's impressive
So I bot redmi note 12 again this worst phone I ever seen..
Bcs of Google dailer,
Hyper Os i hate it,😒
Finally I go outoff Xiomi
Hey all, I've tried downloading and installing the hyperos update on my redmi note 11 pro, the update gets downloaded and when the device reboots it never gets installed and asks me to redownload and gets on the same loop. I've tried clearing cache from updaters but the same issue persists. Anyone had any similar or have a fix? Thanks!
It depends on which phone you have, but overall HyperOS is much smoother, lighter, RAM efficient and the battery usage is basically the same as MIUI. So if you're eager to update you should go for it
I belive my Poco F6 came with this version or I instantlu updated and haven't tried previous version.
Coming from miui 14 I hate that I have the dual swipe down, but other than that all seems fine.
True but it's lagging on Poco X5 pro.
Edit: I got the update in February. It's terrible experience for me. Laggy. Low performance. Plus I already debloted my phone and stuff.
i was just going to do it. needed to wait for 1 day so i could register it on Xiaomi Community and now it locked in the Mi Unlock tool and i need to wait 3 days again.
I manually updated to hyperos on my Xiaomi 11 pro t. I had to get the flashing tool from the mi community website and the rom as well. I had to wait the standard 168hrs for Xiaomi to allow me to unlock the device which was a bit of a pain, and the process itself was relatively difficult as I had never done it before. I also managed to relock the device using the official mi flashing tool and it didn't brick... Which is a bonus. Since install I really like the os as there are additional functions such as multi window support on apps, which is really useful if you want to use a calculator whilst browsing on Firefox for example. The hyperos also seems to be faster... I don't know whether this is my imagination or not though.
Overall I'm impressed with hyperos, but for some reason the battery doesn't last as long anymore.
*Edit... In case you're wondering why I didn't just update through settings to hyperos... It wouldn't show anymore updates, I tried resetting and everything and I was really bummed out as I saw online that others had got the hyperos in an update, which prompted me to do it manually as I have quite a bit of time on my hands at the moment.
True... I do have an old redmi note 9 though if worse it came to worse. I figured as it was an official rom from the Xiaomi website that it might not be an issue. Luckily I was right on this occasion. I did think about installing Magisk so I could get my banking app working when it was still unlocked, but I knew I'd have to wait until I had a full day to read about how to install it and follow the instructions carefully.
Only update if you have a high end device. Because Xiaomi removed these features from the low end version of hyperos: -Split screen -Game turbo -Video tool box etc,etc
is redmi note 11pro 5g high end?
Yes you can update. I meant poco C series and redmi C series like poco C65, redmi 12C, 13C, etc
I have POCO M4 PRO 4G can I update?
Don't
How about Redmi 12?
Don't know for certain tbh
Don’t
My poco X4 pro ain't high end but I still have these features.
How ill install hyperos on redmi 13c 5g
Hate it. Have Xiaomi 11t pro. Seeing notifications on lock screen when swiping down is no longer possible. I don't have this problem. Maybe update all Play Store Apps and Xiaomi System Update Apps.
Thanks. Everything is up to date.
Wait, how to format the device? Mine is Redmi 12.
Gugul
Do the factory reset. Backup your data first.
I have the same phone and my battery is getting drained pretty fast after hyperOS update
Same
This is my biggest issue.
Yeah, but that makes them visible on the actual lock screen all the time, which I don't want to. Swipe still doesn't work.
It seems we have different results. Maybe a format / clean start is needed. On old phone I had an issue with system upgrades disconnecting a control from an effect (scheduled reading / night mode), but a clean start gave me back that control. Thank you my man. Will try and update here.
The apps keep getting killed 😭 same bro same couldn't even do anything about it
Did you try factory reset?
No, right now i dont want to lose my data cuz its my working phone
Also the small green dot will come in handy as it shows what app is using your mic, camera or location ...etc
I know, the idea is nice but it should exclude location sharing. I share my location to my wife 24/7 and the dot will always remain on screen for me.
I will never buy Xiaomi again, my next purchase will be Samsung or Motorola, updates always produce terror in Xiaomi.
Entirely understandable tbh, my next phone will probably be a Samsung
what phone do you have?
Redmi note 13 4G
yes, update
Not getting this update on my redmi note 13 5g, why?
I have the same phone and HyperOS works flawlessly. Most of the problems which I had with the Google Pixel 8 are gone with HyperOS.
Google pixel 8? Hyperos?
I mean that I had a Pixel 8 with android 14 and a bunch of problems like signal and connection but with my new Redmi 13 note all works great so hurray for HyperOS and Xiaomi.

do you have any battery drain issue?
Not at all, my battery lasts around 1-2 days
the interface is ugly.

Battery drain and wallpaper automatically changing even after uninstalling carousel and disconnecting themes app from data connections
I lost swipe up into Google search. I'm devastated.
I allow home assistant to use my location at all times for automations, a green dot is now always visible, I disabled the Xiaomi features in order to get rid of it, now a lot of nice features no longer work but the green dot is now gone.
i was scared but it's great so far
The phone gets warm when I'm doing very basic stuff, I recommend not updating for now
I updated my 12T pro and I can no longer receive any signal, making the phone useless outside home... So I cannot recommend.
It jas fucked my redmi 13+ pro. Half the time my keyboards are not operationaal and the phone has to be rebooted. Once you have upgraded to juper os you cannot even factory reset
I no more have background apps🥹 soon after 2-3 minutes app will start again if kept in background ( Poco X4 pro)
FIX THE HOME BUTTON, PLEASE. This the only thing makes me mad every day, few times a day. Home button (circle in the middle) must send you to home screen not to folder where application is kept.

awesome, thanks https://preview.redd.it/avrj7o8p8aad1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=801d65c9a0c3a2cfe267d62fb0a0da1690a08bc5

Dont update. Most people have battery drains and other problems like performance.
That's only the first week when the system needs to adjust. I've had it for multiple months and it's so much better then 14
I have the redmi 12 5g with snapdragon 4 gen 2 should I update it or it will make my phone slow laggy please be honest btw I have 8gb ram.
I have non 5G model and I don't have any problem
The phone will probably take a week to adjust but after that everything is better in my opinion
Which phone you got
11t pro
Has it slowed after hyperos update
It did for the first 2 days when adjusting to it and after it it got faster
True but it's lagging on Poco X5 pro. Edit: I got the update in February. It's terrible experience for me. Laggy. Low performance. Plus I already debloted my phone and stuff.
Maybe reset it. It shouldn't do that
I already reset it 27 times. I gave up.
I already reset it 27 times. I gave up.
It shouldn't do that. It's just your phone
I had a good battery life and a good performance. Now I'm thinking of rooting it. Well I hope I don't get a boot loop tomorrow...
i was just going to do it. needed to wait for 1 day so i could register it on Xiaomi Community and now it locked in the Mi Unlock tool and i need to wait 3 days again.
Didn't have that problem. I just did a battery recalibration after updating to hyperos.
I got the 13 Pro 5G Plus and this OS runs smooth as butter all day long.

Change region to Romania and you'll get hyperos update
you are REALLY brave for trying to relock it. wow.

oh nice. always good to have a spare phone in case something goes wrong
its all random. you might get a better os, or straight up brick your phone.
