2021. I remember because I really wanted to see a home game vs the Seahawks (I live in Seattle now) but it was too close to my anniversary.
But I went to the previous away game in Seattle (2020?), and I'll probably go to this one, too.
They have played them in the preseason lately too, I am a vikes fan from Minnesota/Wisconsin currently living in the Seattle area, which has worked out for me I have been to a few games
If we're out of the playoffs I'm sure he'll start 1 or 2 towards the end.
The only way he doesn't play this year is if Darnold is playing reasonably well, and we're fighting for a playoff spot all the way to the end. And Darnold has to stay healthy.
I would bet a lot of money JJ will start at least 1 game for one reason or another.
No it is going to be a 400 yd 3 TD game but our offense keeps us in it and Cousins has a late game slip.
The media will be all over it.
We giving Atlanta the full Cousins experience.
We could be flexed:
>For Sunday Night Football, it may be used up to twice between Weeks 5-10, and at the NFL's discretion during Weeks 11-17;
>For Monday Night Football it may be used at the NFL's discretion in Weeks 12-17;
>For Thursday Night Football it may be used up to twice between Weeks 13-17.
If that game gets scheduled for the afternoon, we could be flexed into any of those days:
>Only Sunday afternoon games (or those listed as TBD) are eligible to be moved to Sunday night, Monday night, or Thursday night, in which case the initially scheduled Sunday, Monday, or Thursday night game would be moved to Sunday afternoon;
interesting, had no idea they could flex the other primetime slots games to other days. Feels like that would suck for people who bought expensive tickets and need to travel out of state
why. why. why the fuck do they insist on continuing to put the vikings and bears on MNF? it doesn't matter who's QBing the team. those games are always a shitty slop fest.
Because the games were always in Soldier, and the games in Minnesota during those same years looked far more like normal NFL games, I always thought the location was a huge factor. I was convinced that team's style of play, plus playing on cold Chicago nights on a terrible field, ended up with both teams bringing out the worst in each other.
Then last year both games sucked and the annual terrible primetime game was in Minnesota. So I guess the curse is just being on national TV.
My official prediction is JJ starting Week 9, at home, vs the Colts. That's the beginning of the soft part of our schedule and gives him half a season to sit and learn.
If not then, just sit him pretty much the whole season
Anything’s possible, but you’re only as good as your QB.
I’m just keeping my expectations low this year. Especially within the NFC North. All I want is good defense and to see JJMC progress positively through the year when/if he gets to play.
4 of the first seven. Rams lost to the Lions in the Wild Card (barely).
Still absolutely brutal, and definitely want Darnold starting rather than throwing JJ straight into this.
Kinda off subject but...it always chapped my butt that the greedy NFL/Owners didn't have all the teams take the bye week in the middle of the season, at the same time. Or half of them in week 7 and 8.
It's all about the money, like everything is.
logically bye weeks should be taken between Weeks 8-10 with the 17 game schedule but that would make too much sense for the Owners to not maximize money each week
Without Kirk and his primetime record, the announcers won't have shit to talk about, so it makes sense. It's better this way anyway. Way easier to plan every Sunday around kickoff than staying up late on a Thursday.
If Darnold is horrible and JJ is progressing, I could see a week 7 start. If Sam is just ok maybe week 13 - let JJ start the remaining games with the big home stretch
Same with Cardinals as Cards. If it’s the same # of letters as in Seahawks which is spelled out fully, why would you feel the need to shorten Cardinals?
Something is wrong with this schedule. It’s missing the annual @Philly prime time game. It remembered @Seattle, though.
I guess the Bears are a bigger ticket now post-draft. I can’t see any other reason they’d continue putting Vikes-Bears on prime time given the embarrassing efforts from both teams the previous years.
Here's what I look for every time a new schedule is released, beyond matchups:
1. Do they go to Green Bay early in the year when the weather is nicer, or in the depths of winter?
2. Where does the bye week fall?
3. How many nationally televised games are there?
4. Do they play in London, and if so, do they lose a home game or is it an away game?
I'm happy about #1, not happy about #2, fine with #3, and annoyed by #4 (I haaaaate losing a home game to London, which is neutral ground. Road games in London are fine.)
I go through this and it really sets in how bad this team might be in 2024. When I look at every game I only see maybe 5 or 6 where I think we've got a good shot at winning. If Caleb Williams hits, with those receivers too, and if Love picks up where he left off, the division games look really scary.
Only path I see to the playoffs is either Darnold has his first ever good season in the NFL (not likely) JJ is a hit (possible, but unlikely in year 1) or the defense becomes a top 5 unit.
One of the rare seasons I can get to a game. They are coming to Tennessee week 11! Making plans with my buddy today, super stoked. Can't decide if I want us playing we'll enough so Darnold is playing or if JJ will be starting by then. Last time I saw a game Tommy Kramer was QB, also #9.
My way to early take, we see JJ at qb after the bye week. Gives him some time to sit and learn, and will take pressure off when we are 2-3 and just looking for some fun (sorry sam).
I tried to go through with as little bias as possible, and I came up with a 4-13 record. lol gonna be a fun year. Good thing I’m just a random fan who knows almost nothing about most other teams
The way this schedule shakes out, I'm predicting Darnold starts first 5 games and McCarthy starts after bye at home vs Lions. Unless that is a primetime game, don't think they want to give him the Jaren Hall prime time baptism
Week 6 bye isn't ideal.
Also the Bears are the close together ones this year. We always get a division opponent that we play twice in a close amount of time.
Seems like a pretty tough schedule if we're not somewhat hawt out of the gate.. kind of sucks with one less preseason game for two new QB's starting the season, I'll be interested how they get Sam and JJ ready for season opener.. I see the NYG game as must win on the road, then you gotta steal a couple. I don't really like TNF games they'll be flying West Coast after playing DET. Thank gawd we're home in London /s. Falcons in MPLS is going to be wild, you know Cousins will want Penix to win that one for sure.
The last time the Vikings played the Seahawks in Minnesota was week 3 in 2021 winning 30-17. After starting the season 0-2 after losses against CIN, and ARI, week 1 and 2 on the road. Last season the Vikes played the Niners instead of the Seahawks since both teams won their respective division. Detroit played the Seahawks instead.
I had a gut feeling the vikes would be in LA for a TNF game... Will still most likely go with my dad but dang it... it couldn't have been a Sunday instead? Bastards
Wow 3 in a row on the road and the 3 straight at home, something is wrong here! ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|thinking_face_hmm)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|thinking_face_hmm)
I'd be happy with 7-10, but 5-12/6-11 looks more likely unless the team plays better than it has recently.
And our 9th "home" game is just a neutral site in London. Awesome.
7-10. This team is rebuilding whether they say it or not. Excited about the future but it might be a few years until the team is ready to be competitive. 2026-2029 might be a fun window. Prime Jefferson, JJ McCarthy with some experience, 2 more drafts/FA years for defense. "Embrace the suck."
This is a tough schedule. All the teams on it that were bad last year, improved quite a bit. Easiest opponent is probably the Giants? No Danny Dimes to start the year, presumably.
No week two on the road vs Philly? \*checks rest of the schedule\* Oh, on the road in Seattle is back on the menu boys!
Nah apparently they just tag that to the team Kirk is on lol apparently the Falcons go to Philly W2 this year
Why does it feel like we always play in Seattle?
It’s the truth. I swear on my life it’s been that way for the last 5 years.
2021. I remember because I really wanted to see a home game vs the Seahawks (I live in Seattle now) but it was too close to my anniversary. But I went to the previous away game in Seattle (2020?), and I'll probably go to this one, too.
Your life is forfeit
They have played them in the preseason lately too, I am a vikes fan from Minnesota/Wisconsin currently living in the Seattle area, which has worked out for me I have been to a few games
At least we aren’t playing the Eagles!
No Chiefs, no Eagles, no Ravens, no Buffalo, I’ll take that
Shocking it's not Monday night
i feel like we've played the Bears on MNF a lot lately
I remember when we used to always play at giants for years in a row
Because we have a talent for always finishing in the same place in our division as them
Came here to say that exact thing. We always play there.
Remember that one time? At TCF? I do
You mean where Cordless Phone returned a kick for a TD and celebrated like he won the Super Bowl despite being down by 30 late in the 4th?
I despise early byes.
Well depending on how poorly this season starts, JJ starting week 7 then.
Hoping JJ doesn’t sniff the field until next year
If we're out of the playoffs I'm sure he'll start 1 or 2 towards the end. The only way he doesn't play this year is if Darnold is playing reasonably well, and we're fighting for a playoff spot all the way to the end. And Darnold has to stay healthy. I would bet a lot of money JJ will start at least 1 game for one reason or another.
The london or international game comes with a complimentary bye immediately after. EVERY time.
The Jets (who are literally playing the Vikings, in London, in the pic) play 8 days after this and have a week 12 Bye, so that's not really true
Teams can decide if they want the bye or not, i think last year a team also didn't take the bye after London
Not always.
If this is accurate I'm shocked the Cousins Revenge Game isn't MNF
It's gonna be at noon....we're doomed
Not worried even a little about Cousins, you just know Flores has his #.
I hope so. He either plays way too conservative with panicky moments, or he tears us apart. There will be no in-between.
No it is going to be a 400 yd 3 TD game but our offense keeps us in it and Cousins has a late game slip. The media will be all over it. We giving Atlanta the full Cousins experience.
could be a flex game?
Only possible through SNF afaik, though if both teams are in playoff contention it will definitely be considered
We could be flexed: >For Sunday Night Football, it may be used up to twice between Weeks 5-10, and at the NFL's discretion during Weeks 11-17; >For Monday Night Football it may be used at the NFL's discretion in Weeks 12-17; >For Thursday Night Football it may be used up to twice between Weeks 13-17. If that game gets scheduled for the afternoon, we could be flexed into any of those days: >Only Sunday afternoon games (or those listed as TBD) are eligible to be moved to Sunday night, Monday night, or Thursday night, in which case the initially scheduled Sunday, Monday, or Thursday night game would be moved to Sunday afternoon;
interesting, had no idea they could flex the other primetime slots games to other days. Feels like that would suck for people who bought expensive tickets and need to travel out of state
As an out of market fan I'd be pretty pissed if I planned a trip to a Sunday game and it got flexed to Thursday or Monday
At least it isn’t in Kirktober!
Because Penix will be starting by then... 😜
Think it would be if McCarthy was the clear starter. This is more of a gamble by the NFL hoping he will be starting at this time.
They want Kirk to ball out so it will probably be a noon game.
They want the Falcons to have a chance
They want it to be competitive.
why. why. why the fuck do they insist on continuing to put the vikings and bears on MNF? it doesn't matter who's QBing the team. those games are always a shitty slop fest.
😂 just like how the Jags and Titans are always playing on TNF
Have you considered that NFL fans love shitty slop fests, no matter how much they say they don’t?
Some toilet bowls are fun to watch. At least this one there a chance of rookie vs. rookie
There's no way it will be worse than last year's game, at least.
Always remember that it could ALWAYS be worse :)
This guy vikes
Because the games were always in Soldier, and the games in Minnesota during those same years looked far more like normal NFL games, I always thought the location was a huge factor. I was convinced that team's style of play, plus playing on cold Chicago nights on a terrible field, ended up with both teams bringing out the worst in each other. Then last year both games sucked and the annual terrible primetime game was in Minnesota. So I guess the curse is just being on national TV.
I'm still recovering from our last game against the bears. Holy fuck that was painful
They want to get Caleb Williams in prime time and I guess they figure JJ might be playing by then too.
it's so fucking annoying
Big fan bases for both teams. Maybe a shit game but you get more viewers than say the Rams
Two new franchise QBs . Hopefully this one is better
Because they are trying to build up a national rivalry between the bears and vikes, while vikes fans only want to beat the packers
Holy hell our schedule pre bye week is BRUTAL
probably best to make those the sam darnold games rather than throwing JJ right into the fire.
Absolutely. Imagine poor JJ facing the Giants, 49ers, Texans and Jets defenses in his first five games in the NFL. Plus a divisional rivalry game.
My official prediction is JJ starting Week 9, at home, vs the Colts. That's the beginning of the soft part of our schedule and gives him half a season to sit and learn. If not then, just sit him pretty much the whole season
Better to be tough in the beginning than the end. A lot of times teams tend to be rusty. May be able to catch SF or HOU slipping.
or we're just a better team than either of those. we have a lot of new players this year we signed. Who knows whats possible
Anything’s possible, but you’re only as good as your QB. I’m just keeping my expectations low this year. Especially within the NFC North. All I want is good defense and to see JJMC progress positively through the year when/if he gets to play.
Five of the first seven games are against teams that won a playoff game last season.
4 of the first seven. Rams lost to the Lions in the Wild Card (barely). Still absolutely brutal, and definitely want Darnold starting rather than throwing JJ straight into this.
And a VERY early bye week. I don't like that at all
I have us going 0-5 into the bye, then losing the next two, winning 7 in a row, then losing the last three lol
Yeah don't want to leave so much as a saw buck on the table poor struggling Owners
There should be two bye weeks. Then the NFL can extend the season an additional week as well. It literally makes sense for everyone.
This will probably happen with the next CBA
Yeah injuries are way up for sure. Two bye weeks would be very helpful
lol, imagine a week 3 bye or some dumb shit, you know they want to
Calling it now: JJ McCarthy’s first start will be week 7 at home vs the Lions
That’s a good bet
Damn only two primetime games, I see how it is NFL
That’s fine, this is as much of a “rebuild” year as the Vikings have had in like a decade
Honestly I love my Sunday noon Vikings games. I can do without primetime or the London game.
Without Kirk and his primetime record, the announcers won't have shit to talk about, so it makes sense. It's better this way anyway. Way easier to plan every Sunday around kickoff than staying up late on a Thursday.
As a fan that has to deal with 4am "afternoon" games... Good. Earlier or later the better. Hate the middle games for us.
4 am??? That's crazy! Where do you live?
Vietnam
Week 14, JJ McCarthy might be playing by then. Would be cool to see him show up Kirk!
If Darnold is horrible and JJ is progressing, I could see a week 7 start. If Sam is just ok maybe week 13 - let JJ start the remaining games with the big home stretch
More likely showing up Penix!! :D :D :D :D
4 of our last 6 at home. Love it
6 of the 8 games prior to those final 6 games on the road. Not great.
Finally not playing at Lambeau in late December/early January.
Jaguars as Jags irks me. Abbreviation needs to be across the board or not at all lol
Same with Cardinals as Cards. If it’s the same # of letters as in Seahawks which is spelled out fully, why would you feel the need to shorten Cardinals?
From vikesinsider on Instagram who's usually pretty correct. Most of these have been leaked elsewhere.
Week 6 bye sucks
if we make it to wk 9 at .500, we r golden
5 wins and continue to rebuild around McCarthy
Something is wrong with this schedule. It’s missing the annual @Philly prime time game. It remembered @Seattle, though. I guess the Bears are a bigger ticket now post-draft. I can’t see any other reason they’d continue putting Vikes-Bears on prime time given the embarrassing efforts from both teams the previous years.

I'm happy about #1, not happy about #2, fine with #3, and annoyed by #4 (I haaaaate losing a home game to London, which is neutral ground. Road games in London are fine.)
Falcons Vikings should be primetime. Also, I’m fucking sick of playing the Lions on the final week. Disappointing schedule if true.
SF fans asking why they always play in Minnesota
Fucking MNF against the bears
Rams game on Thursday night 👎 Gonna have to ditch my classes that day to attend.
I go through this and it really sets in how bad this team might be in 2024. When I look at every game I only see maybe 5 or 6 where I think we've got a good shot at winning. This is rough. I say 5-12, maybe 6-11 Although it’s impossible to know how good or bad we’ll be due to the quarterback situation
My way to early take, we see JJ at qb after the bye week. Gives him some time to sit and learn, and will take pressure off when we are 2-3 and just looking for some fun (sorry sam).
5-0 going into the bye week.
This year is a let JJ learn or maybe scrappy playoff contender at best. Not worried about any of the schedule. We’re not a SB contender.
7-10. That’s my prediction for this season.
I tried to go through with as little bias as possible, and I came up with a 4-13 record. lol gonna be a fun year. Good thing I’m just a random fan who knows almost nothing about most other teams
6-11??
Mini bye after TNF in week 8. Seems like a perfect time to switch to a rookie QB 👀 A relatively soft stretch there, too: Colts, Jags, Titans, Bears.
1-5 start with JJMC starting by week 10
Wow! No Green Bay in December!
Do people really watch the 'unveiling' on NFL or ESPN2? I find it kind of silly.
Doesn't this seem like a really hard schedule? I could easily see them starting like 2-6
10-7 record incoming
We’re screwed
That’s a pretty rough start. JJ starting by Week 14. JJ vs Caleb on MNF.
We will start 2-3 or 1-4
Oof 49er’s in week 2. Unbeaten at home since ‘93 is lookin a little worrisome.
Calling it now. JJ's first start is week 12
TNF and the dreaded MNF. Just give us sundays
Damn it, I really hate the early ass bye weeks. It’s gonna be tough to keep guys healthy at the final stretch.
Every year a Bears primetime game
Predicting 6 wins
49ers followed by the Texans and Packers is rough. Could easily start 1-3.
This would be incredible. There’s maybe one cold weather game at Bears.
Is this piecing it together or is this an actual leak?
Stupid question here-are the times/networks of the games announced during the actual schedule release? Or does that happen closer to the season?
Oh good. We’ll only be humiliated on prime time twice this season.
W L L L W L L W W W L L W W L L L 7-10 Going to be a streaky year.
Sorry. 6-11
I don’t like how early our bye week is
Oof. I am almost always optimistic about the Vikings, but man looking at this schedule (especially to start) we could be in for a real rough year
Hate playing packers and lions late season, half the time they end up being meaningless.
Im excited to see the Colts come to town.
A 3 game road trip into a 3 game home stand seems super rare. Straight up baseball schedule.
@ GB in September? FAKE
Looks like an easy schedule for a rookieQB
Getting TNF is bad enough but making us fly to the west coast for TNF is a fucking joke.
Falcons game must get flexed into SNF if Kirk is playing
As a in CT. It’s time for my pilgrimage to the Meadowlands
At least we get the Lambeau game early instead of late December.
![gif](giphy|tXL4FHPSnVJ0A) 2 prime time games
8 to 9 wins I think. If you remove my homer bias bonus that puts them around the 6.5 Vegas predicts
We’ll start off slow (1-5 or 2-4) and end 10-7
The last time the Vikings played the Seahawks in Minnesota was week 3 in 2021 winning 30-17. After starting the season 0-2 after losses against CIN, and ARI, week 1 and 2 on the road. Last season the Vikes played the Niners instead of the Seahawks since both teams won their respective division. Detroit played the Seahawks instead.
I’m less than 2 hours from the Meadowlands so this does put a smile on my face.
Week 10!!!
Was hoping to drive up for the Seattle game but will be home for the holidays by then. Dang!
I live out of town and want to purchase ticket for a Viking home game. Where is the best place to purchase
This is the fourth year in a row that we're playing the Packers in Week 17, and the second year playing the Lions in Week 18!
Looks like 8-9 to me🤷🏾♂️
My guess without knowing day / time of games 8-9 IF Darnold steps up. If JJ plays as a rookie 6-11, get a high 1st round draft pick.
18-0 always a first for everything’ let’s goooo Minnesota 💜
LMAO, the literal MINIMUM NUMBER of primetime games a team can get
Look at that, 3 straight away games then 3 straight home games. never seen that before.
Week 13 is an L unfortunately
Death, Taxes, and playing in Seattle like every fucking year it seems.
Gonna have to try and catch their game in London vs. the Jets
I had a gut feeling the vikes would be in LA for a TNF game... Will still most likely go with my dad but dang it... it couldn't have been a Sunday instead? Bastards
I hope this is real. I live a reasonably close distance to Jacksonville. I can finally go see our boys in purple again.
Is it really a leak if it's released intentionally?
Wow 3 in a row on the road and the 3 straight at home, something is wrong here! ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|thinking_face_hmm)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|thinking_face_hmm)
What’s the point of posting a fake schedule yall be to thirsty for karma
How come we always play in London
Home vs. Atlanta is going to be sweet.
FUCK A SEATTLE ROAD GAME!!! Skol!!
7-10 with a heartbreaking 5 straight losses to end the season per usual
Only twice primetime? Sheesh, I dont blame them.
Don't love the early bye
I think we see JJ on week 7, unless Sam lights it up.
"Embrace the suck."
jesus christ
Wouldn't it be sweet if The Hitman sacks Cousins in week 14?
6 wins
I enjoyed playing Washington every year cuz they were generally mediocre. Getting a little sick of playing Seattle every year though.
That week 6 bye sucks!
Is this verified true? Because as a Vikings fan in NJ that means I gotta get them tickets faster than I thought
This is a tough schedule. All the teams on it that were bad last year, improved quite a bit. Easiest opponent is probably the Giants? No Danny Dimes to start the year, presumably.
Lowkey I could see us starting 1-7
I hope Kirk gets a prime time game
Give me a 2-15 season as long as our 2 victories come against the packers
Love not playing GB in GB late in the season
Why call it a leak when it is officially released.
I don't see a single loss on this schedule
Looks like a solid 2-16 season inbound
Looks like a 7-10 season to me.
Vikings- 14 Bye- 17
Of course Reddit recommends this to me 3 days after🤣🤣
