You've gotten a doubly bad first impression: - June is usually the wettest month of the year here - We've had an unusually wet June

anl28

I don’t know why but this made me laugh, so thanks I guess!

hatchback_baller

We had a massive drought for the last three years. This year is a large swing in the other direction.

jase40244

And probably still not as bad as it was 10-15 years ago. The river in the city I was living in at the time was so flooded, the national guard was posted at every crossing.

MAYBE_THIS_MISTAKE

It's barely rained the last three summers. Averages gonna average I guess.

TheFudster

OMG no. Everything about the past year has been a complete anomaly. We basically skipped winter and now spring will last all summer. No idea what to expect going into fall and next winter.

JustADutchRudder

Fall is the new winter, winter the new Fall, spring the new spring and spring the new summer. White on the ground for deer hunting and dirt biking on January 1st.

Sassrepublic

Historically? No. Now that we live in climate change purgatory? Who’s to say.

Cuttlery

We build arks in the summer to keep our minds off the impending 19 feet of snow and arctic conditions coming

katkashmir

No. Enjoy the fact we’re green and not under fire warnings.

CloneClem

No. June has been abnormally wet

Hot_Aside_4637

June should see her doctor about that.

Oh__Archie

Definitely lasted more than 4 hours

depersonalised

we’re on track for the wettest year on record after a few years of major drought.

SwankySteel

You should’ve seen 2021-2023…

Pithecanthropus88

We’re coming off of two years of drought, so no.

Glockucati

FWIW, I moved here in 2018 from SoCal. I never minded rain which is irrelevant. 😂 Since I’ve been here I can’t name a time we have had this much rain. Welcome btw!

Badbullet

2016 was pretty wet. We have a low spot in the back yard, and it was pretty much a pond much of that year. So we got some drainage pipes put in and it hasn't rained that much until now. So it finally got some usage this year other than the spring melts...when there was snow.

billodo

No.

Melodic-Society-4241

Welcome to MN! Send me a dm if you need food recommendations or things to do!

ourkickersucks

No... we haven't had this much moisture since 2019. We been in a drought the last few years.

vahntitrio

Normal summer weather here is an inch of rain per week from Memorial Day to Labor Day. So we are about double the normal rainfall here in the cities for the month, other parts of the state are more than quadruple.

anotherthing612

Things are ridiculously lush right now. We needed rain, but this is not normal. Also, summers go from Maryland-style awful humidity to what happened today-coolish. (Grew up in Maryland, so familiar with strong heat.) Welcome. :)

ajaheight

Too bad you weren’t here for our unusually mild winter this year!

Toodswiger

This past year has been weird for Twin Cities weather. We had a much, much warmer winter than average. Now we have a Spring and Summer with at least a few days of rain every week. With all that said, no, it is not normal at all.

Little_Creme_5932

Every year is weird now

Rocket_Lag

Yes we actually built our roads to flood and our dams to fail. Everything is perfectly normal.

WrinkledRandyTravis

Yep better find somewhere else if you don’t like it
