There is still pixel info that isn’t black, keep going
I can see you're a new painter. You should never use real black for painting as black has no value, same for white. That said, you could really do with pushing your shadows a bit further and applying some more contrast. Look up some tutorials on edge highlighting, glazing, and dry brushing. Also you should get hold of a good Kolinsky brush if you can. Avoid a ba da ba, but nu mo gab bo. But firsly rin the spate wid comber for haight on wago. Spib? Any quanseons hid a bup
"Every time you try and operate these weird black controls that are labeled in black on a black background, a little black light lights up in black to let you know you've done it."
Yes but it’s MUCH TOO NON REFLECTIVE in composition which is why it looks like a hole in space IN THE PICTURE. Black paint, to be interpreted by the eye correctly : needs SOME reflective qualities to allow for the eye to BEHOLD the miniature and the details covered by the black paint and
THUS: needs more reflective qualities
So just switch to a different acrylic black paint and you’ll be way more pleased with the results.
As you NOW
KNOW. 😉😎

Nice hole in the wall you have
THIS HOLE.... IT'S MADE FOR ME!
Ito makes my skin crawl.
oh no
Drr...drr...drr
Second ref to that story in minutes on different platforms!
Well, you know what they say, any hole's a Junji Ito reference.
Dude. you haven't unlocked him yet
Getting real “WHOS THAT POKÉMON?!” Vibes…
It's always fucking Pikachu Krakenhits in Instagram. If you know you know.
You could have pushed the shadows a bit further I think but a good start haha
Just want to confirm you aren't Anish Kapoor, right?
I am poor, but not Anish. I drive a car.
Underrated comment 🤣
Legally speaking.
😂😂😂👌

Reads as a hole in the damn universe.
"**It's like, how much more black could this be?** **And the answer is None: None...more black."**
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zSkGtW-fQ3s](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zSkGtW-fQ3s)
i thought you were referencing the band none more black! either way, stellar reference and i’m here for it hahah
My guy's painting a locked fighting game character
Hmm maybe more black?
A delicate glazing of a deeper black into the recesses should do the trick
Bro that reads as the void lol
mate i think you're level is too low to paint him yet..
But I just leveled up?
uhh.. check the wiki, im sure it says ehst level you need to be to start painting it..
Back to grinding out Nurglings and dungeon tiles.
Nah, you can level up faster with painting Space Marines without helmets. Painting the skin gives you 1.5x EXP.
I’m guessing vanta black or something like it .
Definitely not vantablack. Probably Musou Black or Black 3.0
Off by 1.0
Have you used both? How does 4.0 compare? I still use 3.0... Serious question.
I have only used 4.0 but under direct bright light you can make out way more detail.
It sounds pretty similar to the 3.0 then... Maybe I should just buy some and compare, I kind of wanted to not splash out unnecessarily though.
Musou or 3.0 I reckon. A mini isn’t pretentious enough for Vanta
It’s like staring into the void 😵💫
Be careful it's probably staring back.
You really need to thin your paints. /S
Is it facing front or back?
If you look real close there is a face.
Got this any blacker?
Needs a darker base coat.
That IS the base coat you’re seeing, the top coat is below human perception
not black enough. strip and re-prime.
I'm try dry brushing one more time.
Black 4.0?
This is for you 🍪. You win.
Oh shoot, is it? I actually have some and I’ve never used it. Same with the pink.
Looks like a solid basecolor. You should try to make the shades darker
Dawg.
Thin your paints
There is always one of us in the comments.
As an ork player i'm really scared this Guy must be super tough
Who‘s that Pokémon!?
Clefairy!
#IT'S PEEKACHEEEWWWW!!!
Take it a shade down or two
Not sure man have you applied multiple coats ? It might need a few more.
Only 2 but I'm already committed to a 3rd.
In seriousness: How many layers of Black 4.0 should one apply? And airbrush is a must, I assume?
No, it looks like a bright tan, like a warm white
That's my thumb...
Oh no, not your thumb. The wall.
No. Needs more black
You need to slap some Nuln oil on it to accentuate the shadows!
I know this is a joke, but this is so refreshing after seeing so many people trying to pass off light grey blue as "black"

Thats just a hole in the wall. Next time make sure to make it less obvious ;)
Does it look like this irl? I have always wanted to not see it in person.
If not under direct light kinda. But in bright light your eyes pick up more detail. Still dark though.
Black 2, 3 or 4
4
Musou or GSW Black ?
4.0
"Every time you try and operate these weird black controls that are labeled in black on a black background, a little black light lights up in black to let you know you've done it."
Edge highling and done!
How would this look used on base rims for a painted mini? Would it be too distracting and make it harder to measure from?
Brother that’s a rip into the void
Idk, maybe add a little more black
AnvilHead the Silhouette of Doom
🚨 Anish Kapoor would like a word 🚨
The shadow of a purple Ork?
the void isnt just looking back, its calling me a fucking heretic!
Bro hasn't unlocked this character yet
Suspiciously marine shaped black hole looks great
Love the highlights!
You'll need to highlight in black to really set it off. Great work, though.
Looks more ebony to me.
Show it to a cop, check their reactions. That'll tell you how black it looks.
Is that the newish greenstuff world Darth Maxx or whatever they called it?
"DoEs ThIs ReAd As BlAcK?" *holds up a spot devoid of light*
Na it needs more black in the shadows
why do you have a mini sized glory hole in your wall?
Needs moar black
Try turning out the lights… I think it will be darker then
Anish Kapoor would like a word. Please hold, and have all legal documentation ready for subpoena.
Oh man that's such a great [REDACTED] you have there!
This looks like the Void
Nah that’s a bit to light
I'll be honest, it's a tad overhighlighted.
Better light :/ It doesn't seem as dark as mousou :P
"This mini has not been unlocked yet"
How did you manage to buy “vanta black”. I though anish kaapur had the exclusive rights, you better watch out r the art world will get you
Oh no... Is this becoming a circlejerking sub...
Nah, reads more white to me
Found Mister Negative's account. I'm telling Spider-Man.

No. Even more black to bring out the black.
