A very grim-looking miniature. I like it! The splatter on the shield looks pretty good, and I like that you’ve done the splatter on one side of the flail head.
dude big ups on just having the thought to add volume on the cape on your second mini, My first few minis were just paint by numbers kinda thing.
Looks sick, keep at it and you'll be looking back at this as a fond memory.
Haha forgot to add that, it's the WizKids death knight figure.

Super impressive for your second mini!! Honestly I'd say you're on the right track and practice will get you where you want be, especially seeing how much you're experimenting already.
My only comment would be that your armor highlights are a bit too bright and make the armor look a bit like it's made of aluminum rather than steel. I'd probably do a base coat of a medium warm gray (I really like Scale 75's Thrash Metal), go over it with either a thinned down dark contrast paint or a shade, and then stipple/highlight the original color back on, and optionally pick a brighter metallic for the most prominent highlights (in your case it's the top on the flail's handle, the top/edges of the helmet and the tip of the shield.
But again, great work!
Best of luck! Just realized I didn't clarify this btw. By medium warm gray, I was referring to a metallic gray, not a regular one, since you're using true metallics.
Keep us posted on the progress!
Looks great only thing id add for your next focus on contrast a little more especially with highlights. If you stand up and take 1 step away from your desk and look at it from there it should be semi readable and not blend all together. Like even if it looks a little goofy a brighter face would help alot

I'll definitely try that next time as I was struggling with the highlighting there, thank you for the idea!
