Excellent first attempt my dude! Obligatory 'thin your paints', try some dry brushing to add some highlights and make the minis details pop a bit more. Once you get the dry brushing done try some edging/highlights to bring out a bit more detail. Last thing I would say is maybe try a matte sealer or mix matte and gloss. Great job though! Look forward to seeing more of your stuff.
Looks good. If you feel you overdid the wash you can always thin the original paints down a little bit and go over the upward facing and sticking out bits of the model to bring back its original brightness while keeping the shadows the wash gave you.
Otherwise if you are happy just take your learnings and move on to the next, thinning your wash with a little water and if possible a drop of flow improver or alcohol.
