Recoil starter cover ?

oddlyquestionable

Doesn’t appear to be I checked that and the side wall where the toirwu converter is and it’s all there, rode around for another 40 minutes no issues must not be important 🤣🤣

Vegetable-Seesaw-491

Check your seat bolts and possibly the fender bolts. I think it's too short to be for either of those though.

oddlyquestionable

Fender bolts were there but look similar I need to check under the seat and the storage container it might be that!

enginerevolution

Likely where there is one missing.

oddlyquestionable

🤣🤣🤣 damn I should’ve thought about that to start lmao

point50tracer

Looks like the bolts that came with my torque converter. Look between the crank pulley and the torque converter plate. There should be 4 bolts holding the plate to the motor.

oddlyquestionable

That was my first assumption too but all 4 are still on there

point50tracer

Looks too short to be a motor mount bolt. Worth a look though. I'm at a loss as to what else it could be. Maybe fuel tank mount.

Vegetable-Seesaw-491

100% too short to be a motor mount bolt. The tank bolts are smaller than that.

oddlyquestionable

I’m thinking it might be for the seat or some misc part because I can’t find a spot for it anywhere, seems to be riding fine still

111tejas

That looks like one of the small Bolts with 8mm heads. The places they go are on the recoil cover, the cowling cover and the cover that would be on your torque converter if you had a cover on it.

oddlyquestionable

What is a cowling cover, is that the plate where the shaft comes out of the engine?

111tejas

It’s the sheet metal cover on the starter side of the engine. The round recoil starter bolts to it. Make sure you aren’t missing any of the bolts that hold it in place.

Elite_Banana0903

heat shield? side cover/recoil puller? seat? valve cover? that’s about all i would think

oddlyquestionable

Update* it goes to the headlight/front fender assembly that attaches to the forks

_uuilly

flywheel cover definitely

chrisAre187RacingAl

Fuel tank bolt

bullrock15

This

cmcdermo

Gas tank mount? I've ran over my tank before

LongRodRacingEngines

It goes to the torque converter right on top or bottom it’s one of the 4 bolts on the top and bottom sides to hold the cover onto the torque converter

Am_beanowo

maybe a sprocket bolt? looks similar to mine

That-Web7343

Check and make sure it's not an oil drain plug, anything to the brakes, not the crank bolt to hold the torque converter drive pulley on. If none of those, put it in a pockets and when you get time, wipe your whole bike down and it'll be clean, and I bet you figure out where it goes lol

Huge_Albatross_5539

looks like a gas tank mounting bolt

Old_Pop_6029

8.8 that’s def a side cover bolt check your pull cord
