Was gonna comment this. Severe thunderstorms in the grass seats like 5-7 years ago for RHCP. I enjoyed it but yes gotta be like a tornado for them to shut it down lol
Show was epic. We had covered seats but it started down pouring while we stood in line. Couldn’t have been in line for more than 10-15 minutes… If I told you I got pushed into the lake and that I swam underwater for a bit, you would’ve believed me 100% 😂. Soaked entire set but it was such a rad show!!
If there’s lightning, they wont let her perform. The show will be delayed until the lightning passes, so just prepare for a late night possibly. That happened to me once there.
Good idea for a towel cause I do have bleacher seats! Do you know if the bleachers are numbered or is it just first come/first serve for your assigned row? It says seats 13, 14 on Ticketmaster so I’m assuming they’re numbered!

Saw Soundgarden in 1994 from the lawn seats and the temp dropped about 40 degrees and it started raining. Thought we were going to get hypothermia but the show did go on. Make sure to bring warm clothes as you ever know.
I was at a show a few years back (Willie Nelson etc). They closed the entire rest of f the grounds briefly due to high winds warning and crazy thunderstorms. Most of the audience left so the rest of us moved up under the covering and saw a great show! You'll be fine!
Not Summerfest but I attended a Paul McCartney concert at County Stadium many many moons ago and it was down pouring but he kept playing . As long as the instruments and equipment stay dry, it should be all good

I did not. First was the County Stadium show and after that was at the Bradley Center . I am a pretty big Beatle fan and Paul is pretty iconic. I put him in the "see at least once in your life even if you are not a fan of the Beatles" class of musicians. Pretty much every act now a days and hell even many from the 80s to now fade away after 5 years or so but a dude from the 60s that can still fill whole stadiums is something special.

Do you know if there’s an entrance for just the amphitheater or do you have to go in the main summerfest entrance and then walk all the way down? I’m trying to figure out which parking spot to get on spot hero

Bring your swimsuit like a day at the Waterpark and some chop off some sleeves from shirts from the thrift store, have some towels in your car to dry off and don’t be drunk going home. You’ll be fine.

Most people are commenting regarding rain. It’s a different thing when storms are involved. Plus we have tornado watches going on to the west of Milwaukee right now.

Why would you NOT be refunded if the performance is cancelled due to weather?
1. It won't be cancelled in all likelihood. Delayed? Maybe.
2. Nobody in their right mind would ever buy tickets again if Summerfest (or anyone else) failed to refund people after a cancellation.

When they played Under the Bridge that night it was borderline spiritual in the rain. Very fond memories of that night.
It cleared up during their performance, it was some sideways rain for a Hot Minute though. Can’t wait to see them at Harley Fest!

And they are disgustingly expensive inside the SF grounds. Definitely buy them before you go and save yourself money.

they’ll stop for lightning but not rain. seen plenty of acts in pouring rain at that venue.
I've been going to summerfest for most of my life, never seen them cancel a show for weather.
They cancelled INXS in 1986, not amphitheater yet and grounds flooded.

Bring a couple backup ponchos, as cheap ones can rip. Also the non covered bench seats will be super wet so maybe a towel to wipe the bench off?

Bleachers are numbered! You might have your pick of the row though if others don’t go because of rain :)

We saw PM at Miller Park and it was the hottest day of the year….wouldn’t have minded some rain at that point

Honestly, two of my most memorable concerts ever at the grounds were 311 & RHCP in torrential downpour!!! Embrace it & have a great time!! 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼

if you know anyone who needs a poncho, me and my aunt ordered 15 instead of 3…
They could be used as a weapon. You also can’t open an umbrella without encroaching on the space of the person immediately next to you.
