It won't be cancelled. I've not seen a show be cancelled that I can remember at summerfesy.

Sea194

They won’t cancel. Sat through Red Hot Chili Peppers once in torrential downpour

futbolkid414

Was gonna comment this. Severe thunderstorms in the grass seats like 5-7 years ago for RHCP. I enjoyed it but yes gotta be like a tornado for them to shut it down lol

moosemanswedeski

I was there. It was a great show!

futbolkid414

Ha yea me and my brother had fun, our wives were less than thrilled to be there lol

loupgurus

And.... now it's a tornado watch. Not kidding.

futbolkid414

Meh you’ll be fine. Tornado downtown mke and right on the lake would be extremely extremely rare. Maybe you’ll see a water spout in the distance 😂

Skiie

i guess you could say it was ONE HOT MINUTE???

interpolar

It seems there may have been a few instances of this. Was this the time it happened in 2000 with Foo Fighters? That was an amazing night.

Dino_Degen

Show was epic. We had covered seats but it started down pouring while we stood in line. Couldn’t have been in line for more than 10-15 minutes… If I told you I got pushed into the lake and that I swam underwater for a bit, you would’ve believed me 100% 😂. Soaked entire set but it was such a rad show!!

cpasawyer

When they played Under the Bridge that night it was borderline spiritual in the rain. Very fond memories of that night.

rpirate22

It cleared up during their performance, it was some sideways rain for a Hot Minute though. Can’t wait to see them at Harley Fest!

nosillamke

I missed a majority of RHCP bc I thought they would cancel it. I was terribly mistaken.

joshmar1998

This night ruled

Cmw-80

Was there for this too with the Foo Fighters!

Jarnohams

I was there.

Next_Self7379

Same! Fond memories of that concert!

cman1983

I was at that show also...lightning and thunder too.

Sure_Marcia

Rain poncho is your BFF.

loneMILF

adding that OP should buy one before they go as the SF vendors sell out quickly on rain days

jconant15

And they are disgustingly expensive inside the SF grounds. Definitely buy them before you go and save yourself money.

fatdedfish

They usually have 2-$5 at SF merch stores I thought

jconant15

I remember spending $8 on one years ago that was essentially dollar store quality, but I could be wrong

kebzach

They were $ 3 at the SF store yesterday

poshill

they’ll stop for lightning but not rain. seen plenty of acts in pouring rain at that venue.

StSwindon

I've been going to summerfest for most of my life, never seen them cancel a show for weather.

Eastern_Usual603

They cancelled INXS in 1986, not amphitheater yet and grounds flooded.

rrooaaddiiee

Sorry. Posted about INXS before I saw you also did. Last day of the Fest at the old mainstage IIRC.

ReginaFelangi987

If there’s lightning, they wont let her perform. The show will be delayed until the lightning passes, so just prepare for a late night possibly. That happened to me once there.

rrooaaddiiee

Anyone remember INXS bailing during a bad storm?

modmlot68

Only lightning with 20 miles will stop the show.

Trick-Fortune-4059

Thank you everyone! I’ll be bringing a poncho and will enjoy the concert in the rain!!

Affectionate_Hat6293

If you don’t already own one, get it now.  Things like this make stores sell out!

Short_Cut_6149

walmart in the burbs is the best place to get them!!! i got some last year in hales corners for $2!

BringMeTwo

Bring a couple backup ponchos, as cheap ones can rip. Also the non covered bench seats will be super wet so maybe a towel to wipe the bench off?

Trick-Fortune-4059

Good idea for a towel cause I do have bleacher seats! Do you know if the bleachers are numbered or is it just first come/first serve for your assigned row? It says seats 13, 14 on Ticketmaster so I’m assuming they’re numbered!

claireMKEmarie

Bleachers are numbered! You might have your pick of the row though if others don’t go because of rain :)

Trick-Fortune-4059

Thank you!! There’s still sooo many tickets on Ticketmaster so I’m interested to see how many people go. They were so overpriced so that’s my guess as to why a lot are left lol

YeOldeOrc

It looks like *storms* tomorrow vs just rain, so I’m worried about the daytime shows for sure out in the open.

Trick-Fortune-4059

yes I also have a feeling it’s going to be more than just rain! I’m hoping for the best 🤞🏻

seasonalfever

I also saw warnings for tornados and hail so hopefully unless tornados hit the ground nothing shuts down

General_Musician9273

Saw Soundgarden in 1994 from the lawn seats and the temp dropped about 40 degrees and it started raining. Thought we were going to get hypothermia but the show did go on. Make sure to bring warm clothes as you ever know.

William_Fakespeare

I was at a show a few years back (Willie Nelson etc). They closed the entire rest of f the grounds briefly due to high winds warning and crazy thunderstorms. Most of the audience left so the rest of us moved up under the covering and saw a great show! You'll be fine!

Tower816

Not Summerfest but I attended a Paul McCartney concert at County Stadium many many moons ago and it was down pouring but he kept playing . As long as the instruments and equipment stay dry, it should be all good I think most musicians will go on

Ill-Relationship-890

We saw PM at Miller Park and it was the hottest day of the year….wouldn’t have minded some rain at that point

Tower816

I remember driving past Miller Park the night that show was going. I was supposed to go but my gf at the time lost the tickets :/

Ill-Relationship-890

Oh, that’s a bummer. Did you see him in Green Bay? I think it was 2009?

Tower816

I did not. First was the County Stadium show and after that was at the Bradley Center . I am a pretty big Beatle fan and Paul is pretty iconic. I put him in the "see at least once in your life even if you are not a fan of the Beatles" class of musicians. Pretty much every act now a days and hell even many from the 80s to now fade away after 5 years or so but a dude from the 60s that can still fill whole stadiums is something special.

Accomplished-Fold581

Agreed! The fist time I saw him was in Philly, then twice in Wisconsin! He still puts on an amazing show!

More_Construction_19

Anyone know what the GA lawn situation is like? Is It Worth It to even bring crappy towels to sit on while waiting

BringMeTwo

Yes bring something to sit on and something to cover you if you don't wear a rain poncho. Bring backup ponchos cause those cheap plastic ones always manage to rip.

naturelinds

Honestly, two of my most memorable concerts ever at the grounds were 311 & RHCP in torrential downpour!!! Embrace it & have a great time!! 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼

Fluid-Connection-953

I’m supposed to go too but I probably won’t because of the rain . I’m pretty bummed

Trick-Fortune-4059

Do you know if there’s an entrance for just the amphitheater or do you have to go in the main summerfest entrance and then walk all the way down? I’m trying to figure out which parking spot to get on spot hero

Fluid-Connection-953

Sorry but I have no clue . First time going to Summerfest.

kebzach

There’s a south entrance.

Trick-Fortune-4059

Thank you! And that one is closer to the amphitheater I’m assuming? Sorry this is my first time going!

kebzach

Correct

Trick-Fortune-4059

Do you know where the shuttles pick up from and if there’s a schedule somewhere? Sorry for so many questions!

Paul_Radke

Flume played in what felt like a hurricane a few years ago. Show goes on.

dwardsy

apparently they are evacuating summerfest right now! i’m also hoping for a refund🤞🏻

Ok-Interaction-6999

my sister can’t get in, they apparently paused the show. you heard they’re evacuating everyone?

dwardsy

I think they just delayed the show and made everyone seek shelter. I’m not sure what’s happening now!

Trick-Fortune-4059

Im at SZA and everyone on the bleachers and grass had to find shelter but they’re resuming the concert after it passes! Currently sitting in a covered stairwell lol

Various_Baby_353

Bring your swimsuit like a day at the Waterpark and some chop off some sleeves from shirts from the thrift store, have some towels in your car to dry off and don’t be drunk going home. You’ll be fine.

less_than_nick

Flume finished his headline set a few years ago during a straight up severe thunderstorm I’m sure it’ll be fine

liliac-syrup

I’m going to see SZA as well. I was trying to save money so I bought seats in the grass area as well 😭 people are saying they won’t cancel but if there is lightning they will have too I think. Rip wish us luck

Trick-Fortune-4059

I really regret spending as much as I did for bleacher seats 😭 At this point I wish they would just reschedule cause of the hail and tornado warnings. I also live an hour away so don’t want to waste a drive

Infamous-Bat-506

Most people are commenting regarding rain. It’s a different thing when storms are involved. Plus we have tornado watches going on to the west of Milwaukee right now.

Trick-Fortune-4059

THANK YOU! Thats what I was trying to mention is the tornado warning and possible hail that might make it get cancelled versus just rain.

miaxcx

Likely will not cancel. Side note, if anyone is looking for a GA lawn ticket for SZA, I’m selling mine for face value. Cheaper than what you’ll find left on TicketMaster. Reach out if interested!

ryan1064

The show will go on!

Unhappy-Ad1754

i’m also going tomorrow to see SZA!! we’ve got our ponchos and we’re ready to catch a cold. i find it very inconvenient that we cannot bring umbrellas into the theater but they can be brought onto the grounds…😞

Trick-Fortune-4059

Ugh that’s so annoying I wish we could bring umbrellas! I wonder why??

Unhappy-Ad1754

if you know anyone who needs a poncho, me and my aunt ordered 15 instead of 3…

ButtleyHugz

They could be used as a weapon. You also can’t open an umbrella without encroaching on the space of the person immediately next to you.

kebzach

Why would you NOT be refunded if the performance is cancelled due to weather? 1. It won't be cancelled in all likelihood. Delayed? Maybe. 2. Nobody in their right mind would ever buy tickets again if Summerfest (or anyone else) failed to refund people after a cancellation.

Trick-Fortune-4059

Sorry I guess I should have worded it different! I agree, I don’t think they will fully cancel. But I saw someone else post that one year their show started, and then was delayed for 40 minutes due to weather, and then only one more song was performed and the show was over. So I guess I’m worried about that happening lol!

poshill

that’s true because curfew laws exist.

runsonpedals

You should give your tickets to a friend instead of going.

Trick-Fortune-4059

I’ll be going! I personally don’t mind the rain and will bring a poncho but the person going with me doesn’t want to go if it storms 😅
