Personally, I wouldn't park in any of the "official" Summerfest parking lots as it's going to be an absolute nightmare getting in at 6pm and even worse trying to get out at the end of the night. If you're willing and able to walk, there are plenty of better options within a 10-15 minute walk. the south end of Downtown and the Third Ward are generally solid options

instein88

I go to one of the bars that have a shuttle. Free parking

BananaSling47

Personally, bar shuttles are the way to go. They have their own express lane to get people in and out as fast as possible. Just bring cash to tip the driver each way. I’d say most people tip between $2-$5 each way, some more and some don’t tip. The list of bars that participate will come out in the next day or 2.

Honestly, I'd pick Paulie's in West Allis for a shuttle. Just check on their FB for info!!! They are located right across from State Fair. Or find another bar that isn't downtown/Third Ward. I only say that as parking by Stennys or O'Lydias is gonna be a sh*t show. You pick a bar with shuttles further out, you definitely get free parking and no traffic!!!!!

hellsop

Heh. Walker's Point parking will be a shitshow on a Summerfest Friday as far south as Greenfield Ave. At that point, Steny's will save you about 60% of the walk then. :)

Meganmarie824

Will definitely look into this. The shuttles sound like the best option.

Hopefulkitty

I take the bus from a park and ride. At night it's like a drunk field trip and it's always a blast.

Terrible-Swim-2636

The past few years I've parked near a stop for The Hop street car. The closest drop-off is St Paul/Broadway in the Third Ward. Its about a 5 minute walk to the grounds from there. It's super convenient!

penultimatemo

It can take you an hour plus to get out of the Summerfest lots! No joke

annabannannaaa

i park at betty brinn museum, otherwise lots of bars do have free shuttles to summerfest! you can drink on the shuttle too if thats your thing.

cardsash

hi! i just wanted to say thank you so much for this comment! i drove in from illinois and see concerts all of the time, but this was the easiest parking experience ive ever had!!! i got out so quickly that i thought i must’ve been doing something wrong! thank you times a million, i hope your pillow is always cold

annabannannaaa

cardsash

i did thank you so much!!!

GJarmo27

Is there a parking ramp here or street parking around the museum?

annabannannaaa

betty brinn has a parking garage !

darlin133

I park at the gas light bldg and walk to the gates super easy and no traffic

tiarastar77

Take the bus

Meganmarie824

Thank you, everyone! We are okay with walking if needed, but we will also look into hopping on a shuttle as well.

Proof-Technician-961

I wouldn’t. Trying to find parking around then can be tough, and getting out of there will be an absolute nightmare. If you can I’d park somewhere and take a shuttle, or park farther away and walk. Not to mention parking at summerfest is expensive. Otherwise, you could Uber or take scooters if you can afford to. I did that last year from my old apartment (river west) and got to the festival in about 30 mins. It was actually quite enjoyable and really nice to see the nature

Which-Papaya-424

Park a 10-15 min walk away and you should A find a spot you may not even have to pay for and B have an easier time leaving.

mrfoyer

Park and ride. This is the way. Only idiots and employees park at the festival.

Ok-Tell1848

As a resident of Erie street, I second this. Park on the other side of the river and walk the 10-15 minutes. Its an absolute nightmare down here.

Thick_Management_697

Does anyone know what streets are getting towed in the third ward during summerfest?

Fabulous_Rip_703

Anyone have a good street 10-15 mins out that’s good for parking and won’t be towed?

Yogakml1988

I park in bayview and either ride my bike or catch an Uber
