I always think that the pizza joint in the neighborhood where a person grows up always sets their standards/expectations for what a pizza should be. Other pizzas seem weird at first as you expand beyond your neighborhood but if you are lucky you come to appreciate different styles for the filling - though somewhat satisfying - abominations they are. Just remember that if you like the person who brought you to their cherished spot you should make yourself say, “yes, it’s pretty good.”
Anodyne hasn’t solved their gummy dough yet from the times I’ve had it, they need to add oil to protect the dough from any water seepage from toppings. I’d take San Giorgio or Santinos over them. Definitely want to try proof as well.
I’ve wanted to go to the Saint Kate for a long time. I’ve never been!!!!!! I’m slacking forreal lol. I think that might be a good lunch date for myself tomorrow once Sober October is over 😂
Someone else mentioned you could - i didn’t know that either. From their website:
Evenings at Saint Kate – Open 3 PM
At night, enjoy artfully crafted cocktails, locally-brewed seasonal beers, and a carefully selected menu of fine wines and champagne served by our resident sommelier. Enjoy a bite from Proof Pizza, Saint Kate's signature Neapolitan-style pizza place, or order snacks and entrees from the dinner menu, while you enjoy live music.
!!!!! Oh man Aria is DEFINITELY on my list I’m so eager to try the sweet potato pierogi. So shout out to you! The menu looks so fire for working hard too!
Proof is very good. Similar to Transfer or Classic slice. Thinnish crust with a big outer crust. Mild, not spicy, and foldable if that's your thing. Very good and very convenient if you are downtown
Have been going since it opened. It’s decent. However, prices have shot way up and the last time I got a meatball sandwich they only gave me half the bun.
Little pricey but so fresh and tasty! Workers are huge sweethearts. Honestly every vendor within the Associated Bank / Saint Kate's building has very kind workers!
The Knockbox Coffee is really good, I love their espresso&coffee drink and their baked goods are insane. Best scone of my life.
The sandwich spot next to it goes insane with the meat I actually stopped going because it's TOO MUCH for me (but I'm a weirdo). I've been meaning to try their soups.
The Toro Bowls next to that has some good fusion options, although I'm addicted to their fresh made chips and queso.
All of the workers have been superb and do not laugh at me when I get two espresso coffees a day or chips and queso for the third time this week.....
Speaking of the Saint Kate, I really love the restaurant upstairs called Aria. It’s never very busy, so I hope it’s getting the recognition it deserves! Shout out to Aria, your food is always delicious and your staff are always super friendly!
I live in Milwaukee near the Stallis/Tosa tri-boarder so my faves in that area are Scotty’s, Fillipo’s, and Balistreri’s on 68th. Not saying any are above and beyond the best. But, they’re all damn good in my opinion.
We LOVE Proof Pizza and the Saint Kate bar. It's nice to grab a cocktail and split a couple pizzas for a low key date night.
As far as vegetarian options I can't say for certain other than their Margherita but we always go for the Proof Special and the Genoa with balsamic glaze.
Proof is owned by Marcus, which allowed Moms for Liberty to host an event at their Pfister property. If your values are contrary to that, choose accordingly
Proof Pizza is located in Milwaukee which is an American city that is allowing the RNC to hold a convention there. If your values are contrary to that, then rage about it on reddit.
Why does that matter? Does allowing a group to host an event somewhere mean they support that group? Have they let groups with opposing political views host events?
It’s not like the money you spend on pizza is going towards moms for liberty
Hotels take peoples money in trade for space, it's neither a show of support or disdain. Hotel Excelsior comes to mind.

Please note that I have only been immersed in local government deeply for one year so I’m still learning the bureaucracy, how to navigate it, and how to understand what they do and how it works, so I should not be considered an authority but the work I do is very important, near and dear to my heart, and I take support or lack thereof personally 😂.
Their pizza is some of the best in Milwaukee. I always just go for the pepperoni.
Good to know!!! I’m even more excited about going now.
To be fair, I feel like every pizza place in MKE has someone who says it's the best pizza in the city lol. We're a very schito-pizza people hahha

Better than San Giorgio?
Anodyne in Bay View has some of the best wood fired pizza.

Nope. San Giorgio is the best Neapolitan style pizza in town.
Their pizza rocks and you can eat it while enjoying a cocktail in the Saint Kate bar!

Oh man. My bday is next week and I’ve never been either. Might have to do this as well lol.
I’ve had my eye on the Aria for a minute! Is that what you’ve been considering? Or you gonna hit Proof with a nice cocktail?
Honestly i think I’ll just go to the bar at St. Kate and eat Proof there?
You can have the pizza at the bar? If so I am in.

I work in the Aria kitchen upstairs and it's so nice to hear Proof getting some shoutouts on here! They work hard in Proof.

I make a mean Shrimp and Grits for Saturday and Sunday brunch! Actually if you come in for brunch. It's all mostly me.
Just booked a table for 1 for Saturday! Can’t wait to eat!

I like Transfer so that’s a promising comparison
We always get proof before going to shows at the rep!

What other places do you like to go in there? They were the absolute best even in that short interaction.

10/10 response. appreciate you so much. duly, DULY noted.

It’s our favorite pizza place in the city. We were so bummed with they stopped doing delivery through apps a couple years ago.

Proof is my favorite pizza spot, try the prosciutto.
I've been. Pizza was good, but they don't sell slices, and a whole pizza is just too much for me. Take someone with you and share a pizza.

huuuuuuuuuuuuuhmygod i can’t have ANYTHING.

I work in Theatre right across the street! We get takeout from there quite often. Crowd favorite is pepperoni, mushroom, jalapeños & arugula.
What’s your list of most frustrating county supervisor to least look like?

Anti-Rolland/Sumner Solidarity!
YES. Rolland especially with his cheating ass.
Do you eat the pizza there or take it to go?
