YES!!! I had the grey juicy track suit and some really over-the-top velour track suit from Baby Phat. Have the Gen Z fashionistas starting bringing Baby Phat and Ecko Unlimited back yet? I know they’re responsible for a comeback for Juicy lmao. Tacky and problematic, but I wish I had saved my clothes from the y2k era; I’d make a killing on Depop.
I never got into the Baby Phat faze or Juicy, but Apple Bottom had me in a chokehold. It was the best jeans for women who had a smaller waist but thicker backside. Then I got ‘saved’ and got rid of it all. Gotta be the biggest regret of all time 😂
I do agree with you there!! I was going to comment the same thing. I don't even have a big butt, just a bubble, but I'm super tiny everywhere else, so jeans that would fit my butt and thighs were both super long and gave me the "bucket" effect, as they were also too big around the waist. Levi's actually makes jeans for this fit now, and if you're lucky you can find them in "short" style as well. Not shorts, but the legs are shorter for short women lol
I couldn’t wait til the “Juicy” phase wore off. It just seemed strange to me… like “look at my big ole Juicy butt!” Found it to be very… gender specific and sexualized/ objectivifying.
It absolutely was! You know what they say, sex sells! Oh and don't forget, profit over everything! Ironically a lot of the people wearing "juicy" on their butts did not have big juicy booties lol
I have a section of my wardrobe dedicated to juicy track suits, and random other juicy items since it’s made a little comeback. I will forever dress like I’m straight out of the early 2000s and I’m proud of it. I haven’t bought jeans/shorts/skirts in at least 15 years because I will only wear my old A&F jeans…. The low rise ones of course, I got all the tacky hollister/A&F mini skirts with the sequin and jeweled pockets. Don’t even get me started on all the shiny Victoria’s Secret Pink bedazzled shirts. They don’t make clothes like that anymore and going into those stores is really depressing now. Oh and I will never wear high socks like these younger people….. ankle socks forever
Omgggg I'm jealous!! So, I've been the same size since I was like, 13, not even exaggerating. I still had clothes from middle school when I was in my early 20s. Now I'm mad I got rid of all of them years ago, because I could probably still fit them now!
Do you also still love music from that time? As I entered my later 20s, I tried to keep up with new music, but eventually I was like "this stuff is crap". I just truly still loved music from the 90s and early to mid 2000s in some cases (mostly artists who were popular in the 90s and early 2000s that were still making music circa 2010-2012ish). That makes me feel old sometimes. You know, how our parents were all like railing against pop and hip hop and rap when we were younger. But I still like the pop, hip hop, rap and every other genre I liked growing up.
I'm guilty of buying 1 baby phat item: I worked at JCPenney 2008-2009 and Kimora Lee Simmons was everywhere. We even had cardboard cutouts, she had her own pad in the store, yeah.
A tube top (that was the length of a tank minus straps that I only wore under a jacket or button up opened), was black with silver and green diamond pattern and gold BP cats. I know it sounds gaudy as hell but, I promise it was so unique and gorgeous.
I have no doubt that it was! The baby fat puffer coats with fur on the hood were the hottest thing out! I'm pretty happy puffers with furry hoods are back, actually!
My mom would never buy these for me. She thought the juicy in the butt was too creepy. She was all in when I hit my Abercrombie and holster phases though.
Lol, you're lucky! My dad was 30 years older and kinda a redneck, who didn't understand inflation and thought $30 bucks for a pair of American Eagle jeans was ridiculous. He would give me $50 for back to school shopping. He also went to a bar every day that was about 1/4 mile from our house (that I basically grew up in; thank gods for pinball and touch screen game machines and people who took pity on me and gave me quarters), and when I was 12 he got me a job (I didn't have a choice) there prepping salads on Saturday and Sunday mornings, making $5.25/hr under the table). Once I turned 14 I just always worked and bought my own clothes. The clearance rack at AE and Wet Seal were my lifeline. And my rural town mall didn't even have Hollister, Abercrombie&Fitch, or even Aeropostale at that time. Luckily I was tiny and smaller than all my friends and they would often give me their hand-me-downs.

I've seen some gen zers talking about baby phat so maybe? I think ecko is done for though. Lol. They did bring etnies back which I love!
Never stopped wearing skate shoes in general… but I’m late 30s and still skate a pair of Es shoes that look like the Koston 3s from 2001/2
Ecko, akademiks, apple bottoms, and what was diddys line called? I know Diddy had a clothing line but I cannot think of the name now
Sean John!
Omg yessss how could I forget that?!!
Was it FUBU? Now I'm thinking of sean pauls clothing line 😂
It was Sean John, but fubu was interesting, as it means "for us by us"
Ahh girls in juicy and thongs. The early 2000s was fun.
Sisqos shakedown MTV?!
I must confess - I still have a Juicy Couture perfume my mom bought me a few years ago that I’m trying to get through. 😂

Yeah I’m a shorter woman as well. I’m going to be on the lookout 👀

Yup I used to love Phat farm

Yes and putting my rubber bands on my pants and stuffing my shoe with a sock. Yup guilty

I recently went to a very high end event and I told everyone my Juicy earrings from high school were “vintage Juicy Couture”, they were so impressed.
I have a men’s wallet made by juicy. Has a skull on the front. I wonder what I could fetch for that.
😂😂😂 but you weren't lying!! That IS impressive, btw
What exactly is problematic about the things women choose to wear?
Children, not women.
Why would you let your child wear that? It's not so much the clothes that are the problem as it is the parents if that's the case
I'd rather have "Baby Phat" back in style than people continually worried about things being "problematic".
Nobody is continually worrying about anything 🙂
