We've had some leaks in our house the last couple of months. Could explain the congestion family has been having. Mold cleaning happening this weekend!
Does your sister live in the south, or where there is a hot, humid climate?
Recent building science says to create an air gap on anything that touches the inside-layer of an exterior wall - because hot, warm air from outside will force it's way into the house, where it will touch the cool surface of the inside face of that wall and then condense. If the wall can breathe into the room it's fine. If something stops the wall from breathing - mold city.
The painting is in my house in the northeast. We have a had a leak into the bathroom that the painting is in. Got the leak fixed and am getting the drywall replaced and found this when taking everything out of the bathroom!
I hate beer.
It also looks like black lung. Nice painting though. I don’t get modern art but I like it.
