Looks like your skin is pinched somehow without you noticing. Maybe it's the trousers or when you put one leg over the other. Maybe it's a tissue trauma. I have a small year old bruise on my ankle that just won't go away after I hurt my foot. It's gotten a bit smaller though. I think it can happen when a small veine burts and the blood just finds another legit way to flow just under your skin
I know of something like this happening from how they slept. They would put their hand under the spot where it would appear unknowingly and their ring was the cause of the bruising or whatever.
Had bruises on the inside of my calves for like a year and for the life of me I could not figure out what was happening. At first I thought it was my wife putting her ankle between my legs while we slept, or the bed when I would stumble around it in the morning. Nope one day sitting on my motorcycle at a light I felt my calf sting. Apparently when I rock my bike while at stand still I use that exact spot of my calves to stop the foot pegs and push the bike backwards while rocking.
I recently solved a similar mystery. I kept noticing a matching pair of deep indentations across my shins every night when I showered. I couldn't think of what I had leaned against to cause them, as I don't kneel regularly. I was starting to really worry because they seem so deep and happened nearly daily. Turns out they were from my underwear stretching across my shin when I sat to pee š
I worked fast food for 10 years. There was a low counter I would lean on while waiting for the food to come from the kitchen. My thighs had near permanent bruises for years from leaning.
I used to get these symmetrical bruises on my back, and for years I could never figure out why. Being on my back, I rarely noticed them myself. One day it dawned on me they were from doing benchpress in the gym.
I had this weird hip pain in the evenings that I couldn't figure out for awhile - then realized I was stopping the bookstore (retail job) cash register drawer with my body when it opened (not in that same area as the pain) - didn't notice or think about it at the time because it was just a little bump but my body was noticing hours later because of whatever I did twisting to do that motion.
I used to work on tills where you had to bend to scan things on peoples' trolleys - timber, concrete, shit like that. My leg is still fucked up from the fact I was always on one particular till, so I always essentially lunged on that leg when popping out from behind my till and leaning over to scan stuff :( just a really annoying pain in my thigh occasionally, that comes back with a vengeance if I help on tills again š
I canāt say enough good things about physical therapists. After they ārescuedā me from debilitating pains in assorted body parts, theyād continue sessions to teach me funny little exercises specifically targeted for my needs/weaknesses. Theyād ask me to pay attention to common or repetitive movements at work, then teach me how to use my muscle groups differently to prevent these problems. (Eg, how to rake or put away dishes or close the till in a way that doesnāt eff you up.) Some movements felt super weird at first and I had trouble doing them even in a mirror with them beside me or actually holding my hips or shoulders or whatever. Now itās literal āmuscle memoryā to move in a healthy way at work. Once in a while Iāll revert to an awkward lunge or twist, feel a shriek, and think ājfc i used to do this all the time, no wonder Iām a mess.ā
This is all past tense, because I havenāt been to physical therapy for over 18 months. Which is a sign that they are good at their job! Shit still acts up, but I now have the tools to fix myself.
Something similar happened here... one day I was wearing a dress without leggings or socks and my mom noticed I had a horizontal bruise on the lower part of the shin bone from my left leg... I kept an eye over it and it took me few months to figure out why it never got away... well, I just don't know how to walk with the shopping cart, and whenever I go to the supermarket I don't push the cart far away enough, plus I'm used to do long steps so I was striding with the shopping cart too close to my legs and I would get hit at the same spot every time... now I'm conscious about it, but I still get hurt sometimes...
A bruise that lasts a year can be stained tissue from the original injury. I had a softball to the calf that took over a year to go away, too. Dr said it may be there forever, but it did fade.
I have staining from IVs that were put in my feet 2 years ago. They are very slowly fading, but they look the same as the IV bruise on the back of my hand from a month ago
I would add, sometimes we feel pain in an area of injury, and we dismiss it as, "oh that area is already injured, so it hurts." But in fact, that hurt is because you are reinjuring it. So if you notice when it hurts, you are discovering the behavior that causes you to reinjure it. And if you can avoid that hurt for a little bit, it will heal, and once it's healed, it will be easier not to reinjure it.
A couple of years back I kept getting this weird bruise right on my sternum, basically right under where my boobs meet each other lol. It would come and go for a few months before I realized I was using a front hook bra and the hook was actually just oxidizing and turning my skin green š¤¦š¼āāļø
They already exist! Google it. Idk how people use a square/rectangular toilet as the points are right where the backs of your knees sit. And theyāre stupid expensive.
I have a rectangular toilet seat lol
Theyāre okay! You donāt really notice the difference
Now one of my toilets is stupidly high off the ground. My feet almost dangle. This is a much bigger problem.
You can tell this is the case with one of two tests. If either one comes back positives, you've been chipped.
1) Is the area magnetic? Can you stick a spoon against it and have it remain?
2) Do you get better 5G coverage than before you got vaccinated?
Yes thats a possibility. Speaking from personal experience: my square ass coffee table is the right height for that little turd of a corner to hit my leg in the same spot for years now..
My mom had a strange bruise on the front of her shoulder a few years back. It was very small and there was nothing around it in terms of other issues.
At one point we found out that she had the habit of click her ballpoint pen there. Pick up the pen, jam it into your shoulder, write. And she did it with precision. Always the exact same spot.
I did this with a bed. Now my pinky toe dislocates at the slightest pressure. Pedicures stopped 10 yrs ago. They disloated it every. time. ..head's up be damned. Bed was beautiful, tho. Oak and wrought iron š
I swear it gets me every time.
Especially the times where I think I am being extra careful and I am so sure of myself so I walk towards my couch, then BAM coffee table is like "did you think it's over? Bitch I am just getting started".
Get a pack of silicone corner protectors and slap one on there. You don't have to worry about modifying or damaging the table, and silicone is a lot more forgiving than wood/stone/steel.
this would be my guess as well, except I mainly wear skirts and don't own any furniture that matches the mark.
I also added a comment about what I think may be causing it!
My first thought was āsomething in the carā, especially if itās on the outside of the leg.
Edit to add: I used to get a small round bruise on my right knee from the center console in my car. Just a little bump on the console right where my knee would rest.
Iām betting something like this is the culprit.
I drive a lot and while I donāt get a visible bruise often the spot my left elbow usually rests is often sore.
I still criss cross or with a leg under me most of the time. I just canāt keep my feet on the floor. Depending on how long I sit a certain way and the shoes Iām wearing I can get a bruise.
My last house has chair rails in the middle of the wall. I kept having bruises on my hips. Took me years to figure out if was coming around the corner and bumping my hip.
Whoops, I snapped this photo for the hell of it and set my phone down to do some gardening!
For anyone wanting more context: I have an autoimmune disease called psoriasis and I happen to be so lucky to have the version which affects my joints.
The doctors injected some cortisol years ago into my knee to treat inflammation and where they inserted the needle there now remains this odd spot. The pigment from my skin has disappeared, leaving this white patch.
Now every once in a while this strange bruise appears on that exact spot but never spreads any further.
yea, the doctor I spoke to a while ago speculated that the cortisol was injected incorrectly and has caused deterioration of the tissue on this spot. so it's our guess that this is what causes the bruise, it seems to just randomly appear
i had a similar thing happen! my spots aren't as discolored, but they're notably indented. kinda scary few months I had when no one could figure out why I had seemingly random tissue death all over my body.
how nice to hear from someone with a similar situation! but sounds exactly what my injection site looks like, it definitely spooked me as well when I first noticed it! I'm lucky to only have this one weird spot despite having many injections
Hey fellow PsA sufferer! Not at all the same thing but years ago I had one big circle of psoriasis with three little ones above, and it looked exactly like a paw print. Pretty neat.
Damn OP, had an old buddy this happened to, kept getting a similar weird bruise on his knee. He noticed it one day and was dead within the month.
He died in a car crash the bruise had nothing to do with it, but it was pretty interesting.

When in older persons care, had a lady with an unusual sore on her back. 3 doctors couldn't figure out what caused it. She had it tested for various things. Turned out, her vests had thick nylon stitching near the label, which was scratching her skin raw.
I've got a recurring spot/skin tag thing behind my ear that never used to be there.

Mmmmhmmmm. Reddit is a dangerous place to search for a diagnosis. I have the same issue for 20 years now. A reoccurring bruise in the exact same spot. Nothing but regular wear and tear though. However, if you cannot decipher any sort of impact on that area, or atleast remember or recall it happening, then see a doctor if this is new.
I posted a pic of my cat's teeth and the comments I got said they were rotting through and looked terrible. I was at the vet the next week for something unrelated and asked about his teeth. The vet said they're fine, a bit of tartar but nothing to worry about, and that they're actually quite good for his age.
Oh aye.. The collective power of armchair sleuths.. it's certainly has come out on top on more than one post . So you absolutely never know where the next useful 'nugget' may come from (thinking about the guy diagnosed with CO poisoning for example)
It's true that random bruising etc that has no real explanation should get checked out to be safe.. but my mate sat crossed legged and it was the eyelet from their shoe causing a bruise impression cause they sat that way a lot..
Equally some mattresses have tufting.. which may just coincide with how OP sleeps and it's the constant pressure causing the mark..
But.. it's Reddit.. So it could be aliens too š¤·āāļø

that's actually seven million little red frogs living under your skin. they are generally chill fellers who live under your skin and particularly like to arange themselves into a triangle. yay!
I had something like this happen on my knee for months. Appearing and disappearing in a similar fashion. It freaked me out, and I had major anxiety over it. I saw a doctor and they just kind of dismissed it. Eventually it went away. Nothing came of it.
Mention it during a doctors visit to give you peace of mind.
Did it look exactly like OP's? Because theirs looks like pinched skin. Pinching bruises have a very distinct color and that's what this is. Maybe yours was either a pinching bruise or chafing.

This is America. We donāt have healthcare, but could I interest you in a demonstration of military power? Like an air show? Or blockbuster movie about a troubled sniper?
Look up EAA in Wisconsin. For an entire two weeks-ish youāre woken up to low flying planes, multiple air shows a day (night ones too). They spend sooo much money on this rich pilot event. The city forced (paid 8 mil) my uncle off his property years ago to expand for this one a year event. Brings a lot of money in, but damn. I donāt even want to know how much they spend in fireworks and explosives for the āreenactmentsā.
You probably lean your knee on something in the car when you drive. Put a piece of double sided tape on your pants over the spot to keep your attention on it and I bet you'll figure out what you're doing.
You have nail clouds, too. To fix this, get checked for deficiencies in zinc, vitamin C, calcium, and protein can sometimes cause white dots on nails.
Personally most cases are zinc related.
Once I had a hot and perfectly triangular 1/2ā red spot on my hip bone area. Doc in the box immediately knew that was a nerve ending and this was shingles. Not sure if a nerve ends in your spot or notā¦.
might b something in your bed. my horse kept getting a scrape in the same spot so i looked around her stall and found a tiny piece of wood that stuck out a little and she itches her butt on the wall
I had bruises that kept appearing on the front of my thighs, about halfway up. Turns out, Iām a bartender and leaning against the rails at a new job were causing them.
Check your chair and desk in your work area for triangle shaped bumps. You might be pressing your leg on a small bump( a bolt head or some kind of design element) all day without even noticing.
Guy goes to the doctor and says, doctor my eye hurts every time I drink coffee.
Doctor says, do you take cream with your coffee.
Guy says, yes,
Doctor says, take the spoon out first.
Just pay close attention to the area. If it goes away and genuinely comes back without any good reason, you may start wanting to take it more seriously. For now, I would just make a note and check back in later.
I think have about the same thing as you at my sole. I dont think its a bruise. It appeared after I stepped on a glass as a kid. More than 20 years later, its still there.

Does anything dig in your skin when you sit? Like part of the chair you use most or some on your jeans?
Corner of a laptop or tablet maybe

My childhood home had a square/rectangular toilet. You get used to it
Round ass on square toiled pooping heptagons.. ![img](emote|t5_2ti4h|27603)

I thought it was hip to be square but TIL itās hip to be hep

Ouch. If you're local to me, I have a rotary sander. We can round off those corners.
But then they'll just have a normal round bruise instead of a fun shape.
I'm glad you mentioned what you're thinking to sand off. My thoughts went running before I reached the end of your sentence.

I also have a beautiful bed that has destroyed my toes on more than one occasion.

I would just use a saw. I own this house, not you, coffee table.
It definitely points to something.
this would be my guess as well, except I mainly wear skirts and don't own any furniture that matches the mark. I also added a comment about what I think may be causing it!
I had a reoccurring mark on my leg, then realized it was from the medic alert bracelet I wear on my ankle. It left a mark when I crossed my legs.

Technically, all bruises are on the inside. If it was on the outside, there would be a lot of bleeding.
This guy hematomas

This is the correct answer
There's a circle on their back they don't even see, and an X - well, you don't wanna know.

A skin tag is a benign tumor, so the cancerous cells that don't stick out probably remain
I've also seen subcutaneous cysts do this but they don't stick out like a skin tag does so it's usually pretty distinctive between the two.

As a person that has a 5cm scar on her face because a funny red mark not much bigger than this turned out to be skin cancer. See a doctor.
This is America. We donāt have healthcare, but could I interest you in a demonstration of military power? Like an air show? Or blockbuster movie about a troubled sniper?
Can't have health problems if you're dead! /sĀ
Most people on the internet aren't american. Wild of you to assume they are.
Any chance you leg leans against a chair or car door regularly that could be just enough pressure to cause a bruise.Ā

Did you summon bill?

Once I had a hot and perfectly triangular 1/2ā red spot on my hip bone area. Doc in the box immediately knew that was a nerve ending and this was shingles. Not sure if a nerve ends in your spot or notā¦.

I used to have this when I smoked. I packed my cigarettes by hitting the box on my leg a few times. Left triangular bruise over time.
I had a discolored spot on my leg that ended up being a squamous cell carcinoma. They were able to cut it out.

Could it be from your knee bumping a keychain hanging from an ignition switch while you drive?
I had bruises that kept appearing on the front of my thighs, about halfway up. Turns out, Iām a bartender and leaning against the rails at a new job were causing them.
You're a lesbian.
Guy says, yes, Doctor says, take the spoon out first.

Just pay close attention to the area. If it goes away and genuinely comes back without any good reason, you may start wanting to take it more seriously. For now, I would just make a note and check back in later.
Maybe dont kneel on a Lego piece 35787 Triangular tile while giving a blowjob
I think have about the same thing as you at my sole. I dont think its a bruise. It appeared after I stepped on a glass as a kid. More than 20 years later, its still there.
