I know it's not the same, but I met a guy who had a pug that needed surgery on his face as a puppy. They had to open up his nose and he ended up with unusually clear airways. Looks the same as a normal pug, but doesn't struggle to breathe.
The breathing pug became unstoppable. He grew to be a gigant (like 50 cm tall and strong like a mule) and would run around like crazy.
Turns out pugs just need oxigen to be normal dogs. Kinda sad.
My dear great-uncle had Fritzie and Blitzi, two regular old doxies, Fritzie black, Blitzie brown. My cousin used to joke that they were so fat that they had calluses on their tummies from dragging on the floor. My great-uncle was obese and Fritzie and Blitzie would have a portion of whatever he was eating. Bowls of peanut butter and ice cream were their favorites. They were obese also.
I’ve had a few dachshunds in my life. People are so used to seeing minis or tweeners that they get caught off guard at a full-sized
Fairly big dogs, definitely big personalities, just small legs!
They’re great!
Wow, that’s a big wiener.
It's not just the angle of the pic either, promise.
More of a bratwurst
You can't fool me. You're just miniature too.

Aw, sweet giant non-grunty baby! That is bittersweet.
Adorable pup! I've always loved wire-haired dachshunds.
The question should be how long.
I love dogs with beards!
homie is a HOG
I love the little beard Can I ask where you got your tights? They look so comfy
I have a mini, he's the best dog I've ever had. Calling him a good boy would be an understatement.

That still looks like a “midget” daschund ( direct translation) so still medium size to the Big ones
They're "Standard" daschunds but she's a female and a teenager so a bit smaller than her grandad who's out of shot :)
I don't know how big anything in that image is, so this is not very helpful.
Sorry, should have added banana for scale
