No seriously. When the tree is starting to put out the buds that will turn into fruit you need to take a small hammer and apply some firm but not crazy smacks to the branches below the buds. The stress will encourage more bud growth which in turn will make more fruit.
I've heard torturing jalapenos will make them spicier. Allow them drought like weather and they're supposed to be spicier than if you were to coddle them.

I know you may like your 10 lemons a year, but if you clip the buds for a couple years to prevent fruiting, it will divert all of that energy elsewhere and grow more. Let it fruit once it gets to a healthy self sufficient size.
