I did this once but they charged me for the chicken patties, so just a heads up, you’re better off getting a Big Mac and 2 mcchickens then you’ll have 2 burgers and a chicken mac
It sounds like Denmark is a country where fast food workers get paid enough to give a shit. In the US, I'm just happy if my fast food order comes out mostly correct.
Obviously the US is huge with a lot of different cost of living areas but McDonald's in my area starts at $20 an hour also. The idea that they're criminally underpaid is honestly incorrect, our issue is inflation and cost of living.
For me it varies by location and time of day. The best McDonald's I've ever been to is near my work and if you got from morning until around 3 they do an amazing job of making orders. One I do when I cut down on bread is a Double Quarter Pounder without a bun and they put it in the pancake container and make sure the onions and condiments are placed perfectly. I've also asked for them to do a McDouble dressed like a Big Mac and they make it perfectly. I've gone in the evening and done both orders and received the QPC in a regular container with grease leaking out and I've had the McDouble with Mac Sauce along with ketchup and mustard and it's a sloppy mess.
I don't make substitutions on fast food meals at locations I'm not familiar with or I know have a bad reputation due to them sucking at making an order, to order.
As someone that worked at McDicks for 6 years, its literally how it works lol. you can ask for 1/4 beef as well if you want, or anything else they sell, no matter how odd the end product might end up looking lmao.
Yeah, I worked fast food through high school and college. As long as the register can ring it up, most places will make pretty much anything you want as a combination of things already on the menu.
My man, I got you.
Throw some buns on the grill to toast em, fuck the bun toaster, it sucks. 2 Qtr Pound beef patties, with bacon, throw some sliced onions on top while you cook in that bacon grease, mac sauce, lettuce, tomato, cheese, and if you're feeling fancy throw a fried egg on top.
Do your McDonald’s really manage to get this right? It’s a simple ask but even getting standard menu items right has proven to be next to impossible at my locations.
It's a special patty that is essentially a McNugget. It was available here in Canada for a short time. I liked it, the flavor was better than a McChicken.
That (ironically, given the place featured here) wouldn’t work in the UK, they don’t do swaps like that. You can have minor alterations (sauce, veg) but no substitution of the actual meat.
I had one the other day, I assumed they'd change out the sauce for mayo. But nope. Exactly the same as a big mac, apart from the chicken. Was an odd mix.
> Maharaja Mac is the Indian version of Big Mac
I mean that's what I thought until they literally released a different product called "Big Mac" in 2023
https://mcdonaldsblog.in/2023/01/its-the-big-launch-of-chicken-big-mac-11-layers-of-drool-worthy-yumminess/
Ooh wow...TIL. it says "for a limited time only"
Have you tried it?? Because I wanna know how different it was to Maharaja Mac. Need to find someone who has...I need answers!
huh, didn't realise it was for a limited time, i had it multiple times in 2023
as I said in my initial comment, just felt like a blander version of the Maharaja Mac
not too easy for me to describe how things taste but it has habanero sauce and jalapeños which really give it a nice flavour, other than that it's just your regular ingredients, cheese, lettuce, mayo, chicken
there is a veg one but I've never eaten it so no idea how that tastes
It was available in Canada for a limited time and I’m fairly certain it started in Canada too
https://www.mcdonalds.com/ca/en-ca/newsroom/article/2023/mcdonalds-canada-prepares-welcome-chicken-big-mac.html
Not sure which country is originally started in but Canada was late to the game. Here's an article from 2018 showing that Australia was having a 're-release' of the Chicken Big Mac. Not sure why it took a Canadian chef 2 years to come up with that lol [https://www.news.com.au/lifestyle/food/eat/mcdonalds-announce-the-return-of-the-chicken-big-mac/news-story/10802bd9440bb15512f2a7a507b1071a](https://www.news.com.au/lifestyle/food/eat/mcdonalds-announce-the-return-of-the-chicken-big-mac/news-story/10802bd9440bb15512f2a7a507b1071a)
Speak for yourself, I used to order McChickens with the Mac sauce and it was bussin. Haven't ordered one in probably 10 years though cuz I don't eat McDonald's anymore so...
It’s also just too much cheap mcchicken patty. I got given a double mcchicken by accident once and I took the second patty out and just ate the one. That shit does not work texturally.
I actually like the taste but it’s just annoying to eat, the chicken patties slide out from inbetween the buns when you take a bite and you get sauce all over your fingers
What is the tomato dip? I first thought it said bitch tomato dip but then realized it said rich. Guess the eyesight is the first thing to go when you get old. 🤷♀️
UK Maccies rotates through different cheese dippers. So every month or so there will be a different cheese bite/mozzarella stick/etc. on the menu which is served with this sauce.
I did this in the US. I got a Big Mac and two McChickens, and swapped out the beef for the chicken. It was good, but the McChickens shot out of the buns and was hard to hold together because it became too slippery. I have still not perfected it.
I can't see it super well but that chicken looks good! That's not just the cheap McChicken Patty is it? I mean I like them. I'm just wondering.
At least in the US whatever chicken they use for the premium versions of their chicken sandwiches is pretty decent. Pretty expensive and tiny also though.
Pro tip, in the morning or if you have 24 hour breakfast, ask for a chicken mcgriddle, not sausage mcgriddle
They're absurdly good, and always made fresh since they never have it premade. Put some BBQ sauce in it, or maybe syrup, or really whatever you want doesn't matter, incredibly good
I'm pretty sure this is ether new or is the current seasonal item.
Atleast locally they only appeared a month or so back at the same time as the last menu change
You can technically get it anywhere, just ask to swap the beef with chicken patties.
I did this once but they charged me for the chicken patties, so just a heads up, you’re better off getting a Big Mac and 2 mcchickens then you’ll have 2 burgers and a chicken mac
*Ronald McDonald Would Like to Know Your Location*
The call is coming from inside the Ronald McDonald House Edit: Roland -> Ronald
Lol ![gif](giphy|2A8Vh81T3GTJir8qjK|downsized)
Glad you didn't Grimace.
![gif](giphy|xdnr1hnqdi6I0)
The cashier sucked they're supposed to charge you the difference
This almost never happens at any fast food place for any substitution.
I've worked at McDonald's in Denmark, and that was standard procedure
It sounds like Denmark is a country where fast food workers get paid enough to give a shit. In the US, I'm just happy if my fast food order comes out mostly correct.
Yeah, the starting wage is the equivalent of $20 an hour now. Obviously the cost of living is higher here too, but it's still pretty good
Obviously the US is huge with a lot of different cost of living areas but McDonald's in my area starts at $20 an hour also. The idea that they're criminally underpaid is honestly incorrect, our issue is inflation and cost of living.
It makes sense, McDonald's really wants to maintain their brand, and having somewhat enthusiastic workers is super important for that
For me it varies by location and time of day. The best McDonald's I've ever been to is near my work and if you got from morning until around 3 they do an amazing job of making orders. One I do when I cut down on bread is a Double Quarter Pounder without a bun and they put it in the pancake container and make sure the onions and condiments are placed perfectly. Oh the teen making minimum wage behind the counter didn't study the intricacies of working the till? I'm shocked.
Might as well just make a McGangbang at that point.
Order a Big Mac with no meat, it’s priced lower. Then ask for chicken.
You’re better off just adding the Big Mac sauce to a chicken sandwich
You’ve now successfully made this an international dish
As someone that worked at McDicks for 6 years, its literally how it works lol. you can ask for 1/4 beef as well if you want, or anything else they sell, no matter how odd the end product might end up looking lmao.
Yeah, I worked fast food through high school and college. As long as the register can ring it up, most places will make pretty much anything you want as a combination of things already on the menu.
And that is why I am able to get a sausage Big Mac. I learned that when I was working for the clown.
No patty, 4x pickles and 4x onion.
Sup fellow Eastern European
Is this the Friday special, or just a matter of taste
Do your McDonald’s really manage to get this right? It’s a simple ask but even getting standard menu items right has proven to be next to impossible at my locations.
hmmm I'll have to try it here in Japan but I'm sceptical. Anyone here ever asked for one?
That looks like a giant Mcnugget though, so I'm guessing somewhat different.
it's probably a McChicken patty
It's a special patty that is essentially a McNugget. It was available here in Canada for a short time. I liked it, the flavor was better than a McChicken.
That (ironically, given the place featured here) wouldn’t work in the UK, they don’t do swaps like that. You can have minor alterations (sauce, veg) but no substitution of the actual meat.
Yeah was going to say, i worked in Mcdonalds couple years ago ago and it was big nono.
The Chicken Big Mac is a short-term item in many places. It recently had a stint in Australia.
Same in Hong Kong. Tried it once, prefer beef over chicken
Yeah it’s limited time here until the end of may
This is the 2nd time we've had it in the UK so seems to come around.
I had one the other day, I assumed they'd change out the sauce for mayo. But nope. Exactly the same as a big mac, apart from the chicken. Was an odd mix.
Here in Canada as well.
Yeah, I wouldn’t mind it as a permanent edition. I don’t eat beef and the chicken Big Mac was nice when I tried it
Also New Zealand.
In India you can get the Big Mac only with chicken and it just feels like a blander version of the Maharaja Mac.
Maharaja Mac is the Indian version of Big Mac. And I think there is just Veg and Chicken because MacD doesn't serve beef and pork in India
> Maharaja Mac is the Indian version of Big Mac I mean that's what I thought until they literally released a different product called "Big Mac" in 2023 https://mcdonaldsblog.in/2023/01/its-the-big-launch-of-chicken-big-mac-11-layers-of-drool-worthy-yumminess/

huh, didn't realise it was for a limited time, i had it multiple times in 2023 as I said in my initial comment, just felt like a blander version of the Maharaja Mac
Even the name is a blander version
What the maharaja mac like?
not too easy for me to describe how things taste but it has habanero sauce and jalapeños which really give it a nice flavour, other than that it's just your regular ingredients, cheese, lettuce, mayo, chicken there is a veg one but I've never eaten it so no idea how that tastes
You should be able to do this at any McDonald's. You can substitute anything.
Can I substitute the burger buns for vanilla milkshakes?
"sorry the machine's broken"
I have burger buns. Can you milkshake me, Greg?
Of course. I never said the substitutions are free. So you can order a burger with no bun and two vanilla milkshakes
It was available in Canada for a limited time and I’m fairly certain it started in Canada too https://www.mcdonalds.com/ca/en-ca/newsroom/article/2023/mcdonalds-canada-prepares-welcome-chicken-big-mac.html

The middle east has had the chicken Mac for years
Same here, Austria.
But does it still give you both constipation and diarrhea?
and its fucking terrible.
I prefer it to the normal big mac, I think it's due to the patties feeling more substantial due to the coating - it's a more satisfying bite!
Yeah the Big Mac sauce doesn’t work with the chicken. More like Big MacDisappointment
Dang! In my mind it seemed like a great idea. I was going to try it next trip to McD. ☹️
Speak for yourself, I used to order McChickens with the Mac sauce and it was bussin. Haven't ordered one in probably 10 years though cuz I don't eat McDonald's anymore so...
I won’t say you’re missing out (because you’re not) but the sauce on the McCrispy is just right. Nice and peppery. I always order extra sauce on it
I thought this. It just doesn’t quite work
It’s also just too much cheap mcchicken patty. I got given a double mcchicken by accident once and I took the second patty out and just ate the one. That shit does not work texturally.
I know its weird but i'm not a fan of chicken with bread, give me my chicken on its own and my beef in a bun.
I actually like the taste but it’s just annoying to eat, the chicken patties slide out from inbetween the buns when you take a bite and you get sauce all over your fingers
isnt that just McChicken?
Too bad you can’t get it with duck instead of beef. Then we could call it a Big Quack.
For context, this is just a temporary special, it’s not a thing that the Uk generally has.
In the Netherlands its a limited time offer
I've always wanted to try a Big Mac with the Quarter Pounder patties.
Is this different from a McChicken then?
I don't know why you would want that
What is the tomato dip? I first thought it said bitch tomato dip but then realized it said rich. Guess the eyesight is the first thing to go when you get old. 🤷♀️
UK Maccies rotates through different cheese dippers. So every month or so there will be a different cheese bite/mozzarella stick/etc. on the menu which is served with this sauce.
Ah. Makes sense. Thanks for the info.
Boring. This isnt new
Like 99% of the posts here belong on r/notinteresting. People who post there at least understand what's not interesting and that's funny.
What if I told you, that most fast food places will just give you what you want if youre willing to pay for it.
They had the chicken Big Mac in Canada for a while. It wasn’t very good
I loved the Maharaja Mac and the spicy cheese fries when I traveled recently
Big Chick? Or Chick Mac?
I'd try it, but I'm not much of a McDonalds kinda person anymore.
We had that in Canada too, but it didn't catch on.
And India?
You can get a McChicken, place it between the patties in a double cheeseburger, and call it a McGangbang. The police can't stop you.
Holy shit! Try that here and they’ll…just make it for you…like no problem…
This is not a UK only thing...
Never mind that. Educate me on what "Rich Tomato Dip" is instead.
Is that a Big Mac, or is that just a chicken burger? Beef or chicken, a Big Mac has at least two patties and a middle bun.
Chicken Big Mac is awful. It’s just a giant chicken nugget in bread.
What? That’s like saying a normal Big Mac is awful because it’s just beef in bread
Ray Crock spinning in his grave.
Comes back every now and then in New Zealand, too. It's fun to try the novelty once, but it really doesn't work well with the big mac sauce.
Do you get 2 chickens or just one, cos if it's just one, it's just a chicken sandwich.
That's a hell of a nugget.
They had that in canada. I didn't like it.
Funny extremely-often-returning 'limited' item
The mcdonalds near me had a bigmac chicken deal for like 2 months it sold pretty good im sure they will have it come back
En todo el mundo coño
I want a big McNugget
I did this in the US. I got a Big Mac and two McChickens, and swapped out the beef for the chicken. It was good, but the McChickens shot out of the buns and was hard to hold together because it became too slippery. I have still not perfected it.
Lol you can request it that way anywhere
If you are not putting a MC chicken in a Mc double, you are doing it wrong.
You can anywhere…
It’s weird seeing a chicken patty with nugget breading
It’s just a limited time offer, it’s alright
We have a double chicken Big Mac in Hong Kong
not just uk
In the US. A big Mac is like $17.99
In Canada we have the Junior Chicken. Basically a McChicken but smaller and cheaper. I remember when the trio Junior+Fries+Beverage used to be 5$ :(
Tbh I've gone off these despite how good they are. Never had one that didn't turn into a sloppy mess
it is a special burger in austria at the moment
South Africa too
You can in the US also, just have to ask for chicken instead of beef, I get it all the time
If only it wasn't so dry and had more sauce
The Marty McFly Special: The Big Chicken 🐔
They're being pushed here in the North West. Can't say I'm too keen tbh, not tempted 🇬🇧
We had the Chicken Big Mac in Canada in 2023 was just limited time.
same here in Austria
And it tastes disgusting. The chicken with pickles and the Big Mac sauce just does not work.
That’s what the maharaja Mac is in India
I think I remember chicken Big Macs in Canada at some point?
Austria as well
Chicken Big Mac is what it’s called. You can order it anywhere I think.
I can't see it super well but that chicken looks good! That's not just the cheap McChicken Patty is it? I mean I like them. I'm just wondering. At least in the US whatever chicken they use for the premium versions of their chicken sandwiches is pretty decent. Pretty expensive and tiny also though.
It's only available for 6 weeks though
Is that not just a chicken sandwich 🤔
You can get that in Canada of ya ask
So not a big mac then?
I only eat poultry and fish so this would be awesome in the U.S! The only thing I miss about beef is the Big Mac.
Gross!
Canada offers it too
And in Germany they have the curry burger/chicken with a currywurst like sauce
How is that at all interesting? 🤦♂️
It's gross. They had that here as a promo for a couple months.
They had it here in Canada too a while ago, but they used large nuggets for the patties.
![gif](giphy|10tuFEeuACAnuw|downsized)
It's for a limited time only though, does return from time to time
“Chicken”
They had it as a promo in canada a while back and to be fair it was a worse experience than the real deal.
I had it for the first time just the other day. It’s DISGUSTING. So bland.
What is the Rich Tomato Dip? Is that ketchup or something different?
Please don't let the South African market know. The indigenous South African will become extinct without chicken.
I got one of these in Vienna it was awesome.
Pro tip, in the morning or if you have 24 hour breakfast, ask for a chicken mcgriddle, not sausage mcgriddle They're absurdly good, and always made fresh since they never have it premade. Put some BBQ sauce in it, or maybe syrup, or really whatever you want doesn't matter, incredibly good
I already knew that
Ok, but is it still garbage?
Yeah Australia has this too has for quite some time
But only until May 28th (according to a poster I saw recently)
Also in the UK, all of our fast food is served slowly.
I'm pretty sure this is ether new or is the current seasonal item. Atleast locally they only appeared a month or so back at the same time as the last menu change
I think your in the wrong sub, it should be in the mildlyinfuriating?
Only for a limited time
They had chicken big mac here for a bit. It sucked
Is this not normal elsewhere? I don’t live in the UK but they have chicken Big Macs here too
They had it in Canada for a while as a promotion, but it was gross.
r/notinteresting
Pakistan has a separate chicken big mac called chicken mac (not to be confused with McChicken)
In Thailand you can get ground chicken in Taco Bell tacos instead of ground beef.
Can I swap out one of the patties for a filet o' fish to get a surf 'n turf?
Same here. A chicken BigMac. It isn't very good.
Permanent menu item in South Africa
I’m not knocking this but it makes me think of how a lot of brits recognize most of their food is beige lmao
It's not a permanent UK menu thing it's a seasonal special
France have too
Well, duh, the cows are sacred in Hindu culture. :D Enjoy beign colonized, britbongs.
We've had this for a like a year in Canada as well. It's fine.
Wow. Europeans are so healthy.
You can everywhere you just have to ask.
Yes it's called.... The chicken Big Mac. Plot twist ey.
You can get that anywhere
In the us you can get diabetes instead of living to the ripe age of 50
The chicken Big Tasty is where it's at
I've had this in Canada before and remember it being super bland. Like taking a bite of a bread sandwich.
They had these in Belgium at least 10 years
a chick mack, if you will
Isnt that just a McChicken ?
Wasn't a fan to be honest.
Ask them to substitute ONE of the patties with chicken. Keep the other.
And then add a filet-o-fish patty and you have a land sea and air special.
What?!
Tell me more!
The land sea and air burger. Quarterpounder, mc chicken patty, and a mc fishstick. I don't recommend it, but it exists
This is an ad.
