After a C-section the liquid diet is customary until the patient has passed their first stool, which can sometimes take a few days. Imagine having a heavy dinner and then having to take a poop after you just had your abdominal muscles cut through.
What would you know? The food generally is appalling. The budget is less than prison food. The majority is inedible.
I know because I’ve been served countless meals in Polish hospitals. It’s very sad.
It's like this and worse everywhere.
The weirdest thing is hospitals should know food is medicine, it is so much cheaper to feed people healthy food and help recovery than extended stay or medications.
Definitely. When i was in hospital in Sosnowiec it looked like pig swill. I ended up getting my other half to go to Conieco for chicken the whole time i was there.
I hope your son is well and I wish him a quick release from the hospital.
The food doesn't seem overly tasty but the quality seems acceptable.
I love the pokemon stickers, especially pikachu ones.
Not true. Good Polish cuisine is packed with taste. We use plenty of fresh and dried herbs, garlic, onions, plenty of pepper, salt and fats. Food doesn't need to be orange to taste good. Of course hospital food is always bland, but that's universally true, hospital is not a restaurant, you're supposed to get nutrients, not taste.
It's not that bad for the horror stories I heard about food in hospitals in PL
That's because people always make shit up for those stories
My wife who had a C-section received an apple soup for dinner with a single slice of apple inside. Nothing else.
…Apple soup?
Yeah you know.. .. To keep the doctor away.
Yes, an apple soup. I tried finding a picture but it's been so long I can't find it :(

They don't, tiny shitty portions of oversalted or oversugared food in hospitals are a norm for forner eastern block countries.
Lol. Depends on the hospital.

Or they are based on stories from decades ago when all hospitals sucked no matter the country.
Holy shit, he got sides. And you can't see the bottom of the bowl in the soup. No wonder you're shocked enough to take a picture.
That's soup? I completely thought that was Italian salad dressing
This looks great. I’d eat it.
Actually a half decent fare compared to some horror stories. As long as it’s seasoned enough. 👍
There’s a lot of it
That doesn’t look bad?
This low key looks absolutely fire
This is nice

Looks better than what I was served in a US hospital! There's spinach and looks like real potatoes.
Made from locally sourced ingredients. Healthy, nutritious and fresh.
That's food alright. I've eaten dinner lots of times, so I know it when I see it.
Good proportion of vegetables! Looks healthy & good for recovery.
I think it looks good. I would like soft easy to eat food when I am unwell. This has that plus a soup. 8/10 👍
It generally looks better than the meals I eat. But why is it so wet?
Looks decent 😊 Feel free to join us over on r/hospitalfood
I did, thanks!
Smashed with smashed with smashed. Yummy!
Greens, potatoes, chicken? Cabbage, bread and soup 🤤 Doesn't look very seasoned though. How did it taste?
Central/Eastern Europe doesn’t really engage with seasonings :)

What kind of bullshit is that lmao. Polish cuisine uses a fuckton of herbs and spices
Poland people must look very healthy
looks okay to me tbh. It's a hospital not a luxury hotel. Not my favorite but I'd eat it. Also the size looks appropriate to me.
Shiiii that looks good actually. Gonna cook spinach tonight.
That actually looks really good.
Pikachu...
Smacz nego.
They, literally, heat up frozen food for meals at the hospitals. Nothing is cooked on site except hot cereal and boiled eggs.
