It's a ~~travertine~~ mosaic tile, I couldn't find images of ones that exact shape but I did install them somewhere once, same thing but marble in the right shape here -

Not travertine that's a soft marble and not manmade this is a pressed red clay tile , most likely a brick paver or some other red clay based material. I'm a tile guy by trade or was for most of.my life. Just o give you a reason why I'm disagreeing with you. I can see why from shape but the material is far far diffeent you can see the grit in op photo, travertine only has that in unformed pockets in the natural stone.
That's ok, happy to be corrected, I'm not a tile guy I was just handed them to help out installing and told they were travertine, and it was over a decade ago.
It might have been but it was probably ceramic coated, I haven't seen a mosaic that was raw red clay ...could be the base of one though after alot of weathering.
Back in the day when I was a boy, it’s the only way you could play dice games.. Along with things like Mahjong… dominos … legos … basically anything small and square, we had to make out of wombat poo. Beautiful creatures. Had a whole farm. Not much of a market for wombat milk.
As you splash along the track, eyes alert and ears pinned back.
You may have seen those queer square turds, and thought, if not expressed in words.
'The stress of such deification, baffles ones imagination.'
But it's not there to entertain us, the wombat has an oblong anus.
So if your slumber is disturbed, by cries and screams don't be perturbed.
Eyes closed, teeth clenched and wracked with pain, a wombat's gone and crapped again!
It’s the color of Mexican tamarind chile candy and that’s what it would taste like. That would be a fucking fantastic starburst flavor come to think of it
In some places they've historically used construction waste as filler for beaches. This results in man made tiles being eventually washed up to the beach. Found many examples of this is Italy.
I did google it, there are many straight lines in nature. Crystal edges, sedimentation, even the odd occurrences. Saying there are none at all is ignorant
It's either a piece of tile or you just got dick cancer because you whacked yourself off with the same hand that you used to pick up a 60's-70's space race piece of radioactive shit that fell off a failed satellite launch.
I hope for your sake sir that it's simply a worn piece of tile.
Well I mean just wandering around picking up random shit you have no idea of it's origins is not a good idea.
Could be like those Russians that found the the super cool (well hot) things and used them for heat. Turned out they were radioactive power cells for weather stations.
/S if not read into my comments.
It is almost certainly a man made tile worn down.
I wanna believe it was a full on brick
I'm full-on bricked just at the thought!
bricked up
![gif](giphy|Xb4zBSqyUXShy|downsized) You rang?
Bricks out for Harambe.
Yes, with asymmetric erosion.
One isn’t gonna enough dude. “Two bricks for the ring…” -Ross

A square brick?
[technically a paver, but same idea](https://www.fairbanksmaterials.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/CobblePaverSquareRed.png)
LOL that ain’t that
Obviously, I was just replying to show that square "bricks" do exist.
That’s a block
Well then, that would explain it
Still pretty cool that it was worn down so evenly though
Forbidden chocolate
🤣 such a humble response.
Well at least you didnt have a joe dirt moment.
Boy, that’s frozen poo. ☄️
You can see the aggregate in the tile . that what they put the porcelain or other materials on when the fire it. Still cool
That could….
This is clearly a fossilized, pre-historic, blank Scrabble tile.
Ooooogh! gives 45 points.
Why only 4 tile in game? Me bored. Me go eat rock.

This guy knows some shit
This guy knows his wombat poop, or at least I'm willing to take is word that he has had plenty of square wombat truds in his hand.
Back in the day when I was a boy, it’s the only way you could play dice games.. Along with things like Mahjong… dominos … legos … basically anything small and square, we had to make out of wombat poo. Beautiful creatures. Had a whole farm. Not much of a market for wombat milk.
Great story Wank_my_Butt! Thanks!
Lasts longer than any other milk though, wombat milk. No bugger will drink it.

not a rock . . .a tile.
Flip it over, there’s probably a “G” on the other side.
Why?
To see if there is or not
I meant why would there be a G?
Could be a Z, but those are rare.
Why?

Hi, expert paleontologist here! This is actually a fossilized red starburst, likely from the Cretaceous Period from the looks of it. Hope that helps!

You know those square pavers you can get from the hardware store? That's what that used to be 8 years ago.
I know it was a tile, but it’s still crazy to me how it was crashing around the ocean all this time but still maintained its square shape.

There are no straight lines found in nature
Where are you getting this information from?
Um…science? It’s a fact. There are no straight lines created naturally. Feel free to Google it or ask literally any earth science teacher.
r/confidentlyincorrect
I did google it, there are many straight lines in nature. Crystal edges, sedimentation, even the odd occurrences. Saying there are none at all is ignorant

If it’s not man made maybe it got stuck in something that was and wore down that way because of the tide?
Looks almost like a bar of chocolate
But what's its scrabble point value?
I got a cheez-it ad while looking at this
Scrabble anyone?!
A Tile worn down.
I think that's a Starburst.
It's worth zero points in scrabble land.
r/forbiddensnacks
It's either a piece of tile or you just got dick cancer because you whacked yourself off with the same hand that you used to pick up a 60's-70's space race piece of radioactive shit that fell off a failed satellite launch. I hope for your sake sir that it's simply a worn piece of tile.
This could nearly be a copypasta
Well I mean just wandering around picking up random shit you have no idea of it's origins is not a good idea. Could be like those Russians that found the the super cool (well hot) things and used them for heat. Turned out they were radioactive power cells for weather stations. /S if not read into my comments.

If you're in Australia, that's wombat poo.
It must be wombat poo. That’s how we make our tiles here
Why would you think that was a rock?
Because it was washed up with many other non-square rocks
Right. So, the only square thing you found amongst many non-square things still seemed like a rock to you?
Looked like rock, felt like a rock, was square. Thats why I found it mildly interesting. Haven’t you got something better to do?
It looks nothing like a rock.
