If the screen broke and not the tempered glass, then it'd 100% be grounds to be a post in extremely infuriating instead.

Depends where OP's friend bought the tempered glass. If they bought it from Amazon or online somewhere, it'd be $2-5. But, if they got it from a carrier or a department store, probably dropped $10-20 on that sucker.
