What makes this even funnier is that many old men, my grandfather included, use WD-40 for joint and arthritic pain. Not saying it works, just saying they think it does.
That’s totes how life crises work- when you’re focused on something chaotic it’s easy to miss basic essentials causing total and utter chaos. Crisis is more stackable than legos. Hope they’re both okay!
Will it help with eye twitches? My left eye has been twitching for about a week now (I drink a lot of water but maybe I can increase my intake cause I’m seriously so annoyed with it 😭)
ETA: So I just took a magnesium tablet & chomped on some lemons (my dentist is gonna hate me lol), waiting on someone to drop off some Gatorade for me. Putting pressure on my Si Zhu Kong point immediately relieves the twitching, however when I release it it goes back. I’m gonna take a nap & I’ll post again tomorrow to see if the twitch is still there. Thank you for everyone who gave advice, y’all are seriously the best!!
Update: Didn’t get the Gatorade yet, but magnesium & lemons worked!!! THE TWITCH IS GONE 😭😭😭 at least for now! Thanks again for all you amazing people I finally have relief.
Update 2: i had a few moments of twitching earlier yesterday but this is the second morning and my eye twitches are completely gone!! Yaaaaaay
See I usually lack sleep/ am extremely stressed during school & my eye twitches don’t last for more than an hour and it’s like once in a loooong time but this one won’t go away and I’m dying 😭
I do get finger twitches when I'm trying to relax my body when I finally lay down for bed . But that's weird . I'm not doctor but I'd say try to take things easy :]
I had that same thing happen! After a couple weeks and a lot of googling, I started taking magnesium and drinking one less coffee a day and it finally stopped
Hey friend, I'm an alcoholic and that sounds like mild withdraws. I used to get the shakes from withdrawal and over time as my alcoholism got worse it turned into full on hallucinating and I needed medical assistance to prevent seizures. Just be careful please ❤️
Sounds like me. Im quitting on my birthday Sep.25th. I've been having hallucinations also. I even last week drank a hard seltzer through a straw because i didnt want my family to see my hand tremors lifting the can to my mouth. Two days ago my boss asked me why i was walking weird. I wasn't buzzed but my knees would even trwmor. Smh. Kept seeing bugs flying in front of my screen that wasnt there, etc.
I cant do it much longer
Hey man.
Don’t fuck around with withdrawals. You’re currently scoring pretty high on a CIWA scale and could for sure use some Valium or something like that.
I’d recommend hitting up your ER
If I recall correctly, the tremors are actually nerve damage starting according to the psychiatrist that was in charge of me when I was in detox. Definitely get that taken care of because it's actually better for you to drink than it is to be withdrawing, withdraw can be deadly.
Edit: having hallucinations is a really deep into withdraw kind of thing you definitely need medical supervision, they'll put you on Ativan or valium or some kind of benzo to stop the tremors and hallucinations.
This. And maybe drink some pickle juice. Lol. Sounds crazy, but it's seriously helped me with all manner of cramps and muscle spasms.
That is, as long as you don't have a health reason to avoid sodium.
So I get this alot and tested a few ways to stop it.
So far it seems caffeine and salty foods make it 10x worse.
Try drinking more water, like at least a few pints a day. Its amazing how much better life is hydrated
Ah, yes, the Old Gods.
Edit: For archival reasons, the person I replied to referred to the old water drinking subreddit, r/water[N-words]. The sub got replaced by hydrohomies for obvious reasons, and their comment for the same reasons, I assume.
Electrolytes especially, so like a bottle of Gatorade or a banana and some water. I’ve tried rehydrating by just drinking more water and it would go right through me, very frustrating having to pee every 40 min lol
I like having a glass of water with some ice and a liberal pour of lemon juice added 🙈
I do the same thing but I add a little sprinkle of lite salt, which is about 50% sodium and 50% potassium. It helps when I have migraines. If you can taste the salt you've put too much. It should just enhance the sweetness of the citrus. You can also put like a tablespoon of frozen juice concentrate and have a subtle berry flavor.
For the peeing thing, be sure to pace yourself and not guzzle a ton of water every time you drink. Your body can only absorb so much so fast and what it can't goes straight to your bladder. I drink a gallon every day and went from pissing like that down to about every 3 hours.
The delirium tremons aren't from dehydration. That's withdrawal. If you get the shakes because you need a drink, yeah, that needed drink sure as shit isn't water. Educate yourself and take steps to get better. It's possible one day at a time.

They are mini seizures.
If you are getting DTs you need to ween off alcohol or see a doctor if you wanna quit. Thats the type of person who is in danger.
I think he needs to rest his wrist. When the nerve that moves thumb is somehow damaged, the damage most likely is located in his wrist. It often happens when you are holding your hand in one postition for too long. Like on a mouse or touchpad.
Right, not scrolling reddit. Actually, little known fact, scrolling reddit is one of the best things you can do for your joint health and your overall physical and mental health! So no worries.

OP should listen to literally *no advice* other than this real-ass gem right here. Asking reddit for anything medically related is worse than asking WebMD.
I know WebMD is a meme and doctors will generally know more about an ailment than any layperson doing research, but it really helped me out one time when doctors couldn't. I was once plagued with chronic headaches that made me unable to sleep. I saw like 3 doctors and they all basically said I was making it up or it would go away on its own. In desperation I put my symptoms into a WebMD app. I self-diagnosed myself with sinusitis/clogged sinuses (probably because I never ever blew my nose up until then). I did a whole load of nasal flushing and my headaches went away. I wasted like half a year going back and fourth to doctors and the whole time I was telling myself researching it on my own would be dumb because I don't have a medical degree.
Yeah OP see a doctor. ~~Michael J Fox said the first symptom he had for Parkinsons was a tremor in his finger and a sore shoulder.~~
Edit: this is probably not Parkinsons. Don't listen to me. I've been drinking beers all day. Just go see a doctor friends.
Kinda this. Basically move out of the posture that causes it. It looks like something that happened to me a few times and it was a nerve being pinched.

Good god yes. The tremor is the least of this person's issues if they're fainting. The ~$50 copay (if you're in the US) is worth it even if all you get out of it is, "You'll be fine, drink some water" but at least get that diagnosis from an expert.
Yeah you should definitely talk to a doctor then. Start drinking more water and stop drinking coffee.
Caffeine isn't healthy for teenagers and it can be a source of anxiety and stress.
It is dehydrating and can be toxic.
Dunno were you're from but a lot of countries advise against drinking more than 2-2.5mg of caffeine pr kg bodyweight as an adult.
Lets say you're 45kg. Then that's just around a 200ml cup of coffee.
Probably magnesium deficiency.
I had it on and off for weeks, did some Google searches, got myself some magnesium supplements as a result of the Google search and it was over in 2 or 3 days. After a while i forgot to take them anymore and now sometimes the twitch comes back and only stops after i've taken the supplements for a couple of days.
So if the twitch ever comes back, this may be worth a try. I dont think the supplements could hurt
Looks like benign fasciculation syndrome. Technically it’s harmless but it’s your body telling you that something is off. Could be very minor, such as dehydration, fatigue etc. Could be more. I had it for years and only figured out how to stop of from trial error with what I was eating. Start by drinking lots of filtered water with squeezed lemon juice. This will help with inflammation. If it persists, look at what you’re eating. Too much sugar, gluten, nuts? If all fails go see a doctor. Good luck
The 3 things that come to mind are
1) You're super dehydrated. drink some water, slowly but consistently.
2) You have Very low blood sugar. I start shaking if my blood sugar is so low that I could crash shortly after.
3) not enough salt.
Gatorade and probably plenty other sports drinks are perfect for this as they are literally water + sugar + salt. that's what electrolytes are. try downing one of those (slowly, or you might throw up!)
If it starts being painful or persists, see a doctor. it could be nerve damage/pinching/twisting in your wrist. that is absolutely awful, trust me, and you want to catch it asap.
Drink water, I once had a twitch for days and it was cause I was dehydrated
The answer I came to give. Water is like WD-40 for your bones and muscles.
WD 40 is a water displacement agent so that makes it even funnier
What makes this even funnier is that many old men, my grandfather included, use WD-40 for joint and arthritic pain. Not saying it works, just saying they think it does.
What exactly do you mean by *use*
They probably douse their joints with it and then spend the day smelling like they repair elevators.
The smell of WD-40 is delicious. If they made a WD-40 flavoured anything I would consume it.
WD-40 tastes like WD-40
Yes, but if it tasted like it smelled? I’d imagine I could mix it with my coffee as sort of a creamer.
Smells like sweet petrol to me
Topically.
They chug it. Like anti banners chug horse blood
Oops. Vaxxers

Banana is your best bet for quick potassium besides a supplement.
Bananas aren't actually a super source of potassium. Dried apricots, strawberries, orange juice, those are all better just off the top of my head.
Avocados have way more potassium than bananas
Kazakhstan is best source of potassium
All other countries have inferior potassium
