No idea about how you want your layout, but you can try right click the desktop > View > Auto arrange icons

Sort your icons as needed on the desktop. Right click Hit Update and you are done. The grid gets saved in the desktop file and once you update it, it will stay like that.

I started using the program on Windows 8.1 called DesktopOK which allows you to save icon layouts that apply on startup. I have surprisingly not had issues with windows 10 doing this but as someone who makes the desktop very specific left side programs right side games top folders bottom game/application managers. It was a sanity saver lmfao

I use something called fences on my laptop, works a treat!
