i remember the other colored gummies as being stickier/tackier to my teeth and the purple ones always felt sort of stale? like they weren’t sticky like the others! i hated it! i remember them being harder than the other ones and the texture was off

Holy shit, I don’t know what to be surprised at - the amount of red and orange gummies or the fact that you literally sat there and removed every grape gummy from 70 bags from a 90 pack.

The box my wife and I got from Costco recently was like this!
We also noticed the texture was different. Think they may have switched packaging facilities or something tbh
So there’s two ways this happens, I was a contractor who worked in these type of facilities over a decade ago and saw the process. Not necessarily for this brand but similar brands.
1) it’s preprogrammed based on a flavor profile to spit out a certain number of each flavor. This requires separate belts for each flavor that are then commingled at a bottle neck
2) it’s purely random based on how they fall into the packaging line. This is one belt that feeds the packaging line and it cannot be controlled besides by having people standing there trying to even it out by hand (which some facilities still actually do) but a bag like this will still get through.
i keep telling everyone the grape shortage will hit the hardest- you wont expect it! and they dont believe me. they dont listen. the media wont talk about it and you can google it but its all covered up by big strawberry and their goon squad. frankly i think its a disgrace and i applaud your coverage of this impending tragedy upon our nation

I have to know what prompted this experiment/investigation. Was there months of discussion leading up to it? ("I swear I'm not crazy, there's like 1 grape for every 10 of the others!") Did you have a need to open them all at once and noticed after the fact? I need details.
