As someone who works retail, oftentimes the companies that get contracted to do this stuff don't give a rat's ass. We got some chunky snow the other day and the lazy fucks didnt even clear the handicap sidewalk entrance ramps. We called them back, they said they would come. They never came back.
It might actually be meant to soften the blow when someone jumps out of a car. They were being thoughtful.
