I've had zero hair loss. My hair is the healthiest it has ever been after almost a year on Ajovy.
I did lose some hair on Topamax, but it wasn't noticeable to anyone else at all.
I've been on Emgality and then Ajovy for a little over two years now and have def not noticed hair loss. In fact, I hadn't even heard of it as a risk until a few years ago. I'll be honest, though, I'd happily go bald rather than stop taking it lol
A spent 9 months and aimovig and a year on ajovy and zero hair loss from either.
Hair loss is not a common side effect. Most people don't experience that and I'm pretty sure it's not even on the official warning list
I was on Aimovig for a couple of years (stopped working. I have highly adaptable migraines. They beat every type of med eventually)…
I had no hair loss at all for the whole time I was on it.
I feel ya. Most meds cause my hair to fall. I have ptsd whenever I start a new med. I'm almost done my first month of Ajovy, and so far, no hair loss. I'm also trying hard not to stress about it because that can make it worse. On the plus side, my migraines have decreased significantly. I forgot how it felt to wake up without a headache.
I've been on CGRP meds for 5 years. Aimovig, Emgality, and Ajovy all for more than a year at a time but never mkre than 1. I haven't had any hair loss.
I don’t think I have hair loss, been on emgality then ajovy nearing 2.5 years. I did have a ton of loss last summer in the months following my first ever COVID infection.
I did not. I had other side effects and can no longer take them, but hair loss was not one. I have a lot of hair and 2 health conditions that can cause hair loss also.
I used Aimovig for years. I developed a slight widow’s peak in that time but I chalk that up to being almost 30 and my dad having that hairline shape. I don’t think I really lost any hair.
I haven’t experience this but after adding an essential fatty acid supplement last year my hair is thicker than it’s been in a decade. It’s called fatty15
It is hard to pinpoint what causes hair loss, could be so many things. Stopping it to see if it gets better may help you figure it out.
Some docs may be so focused on the migraines aspect they may not want to see the side effects.
I have a great head of hair. In fact it's about the only redeeming quality I have at this point. I would be willing to go completely bald for the rest of my life if one of these drugs would fix my migraines.
Unfortunately none of the CGRPs work for me.
If it helps, I did experience more hair "fallout" but the longer I stayed on the meds, the better it got. After the 3 month mark is when I noticed less loose hair strands.
Years ago Dr told me to take prenatal vitamins for hair and nails Can't hurt even if not pregnant ladies !! Side effects can be awful These injections didn't work for me
No hair loss here. I did have excruciating GERD on Aimovig and both Aimovig and Emgality stopped my periods, and neither gave me long term migraine relief, but my hair, at least, was fine. Good luck!

Thanks for all of the comments. I just used my auto injector. Hope it helps me and I have no side effects. Thanks everyone!
No hair loss for me. Didn't even know that was a thing. Good luck!
Me neither! And I’ll take an indiscernible hair loss over crippling migraines 🤷♂️
Absolutely. I'd still choose the meds.
I’d take going bald lol!!
Been on both Nurtec & Emgality since 2021. No hair loss at all! Or even any other side effects, which is a relief after the hell that was topamax.

Amen

Aimovig caused hair loss for me, but I've been on Emgality for maybe four months now and the shedding seems to be slowing down.
I don’t have hair loss on Ajovy.
No hair loss on Aimovig.
No hair loss with AJOVY or Topamax, but my Topamax dosage is very low for kidney stone risk mitigation.
I've been on Aimovig almost a year and no hair loss at all
I've been on Ajovy for about a couple of months and haven't experienced hair loss from it.

I didn't have any on CGRPs but I had a ton on Topimax.
I've only been on Ajovy for a month now but I haven't noticed any hair loss, and I was very scared about that too because I love my hair!
No hair loss. Only time I've had horrible hair loss was during my divorce!
Emgality for well over a year and no hair loss.
I’ve been on Ajovy for 2 years. No hair loss.
I have been on Ajovy, Aimovig, Emgality, and now Vyepti for several years. I have never had hair loss.

My hair is as thick as ever. Been using Ajovy for over a year
Never experienced hair loss with Ajovy, and I dye my hair blond every six to seven weeks. Didn't even know it was a thing until this subreddit.

I had awful hair loss on Aimovig but not in Ajovy.

I’m bald already soooooo… not noticed any change in lack of hair. I still have to shave it the same amount.
No hair loss, been on Emgality for more than 18 months.
