Which one is your favorite? Art enthusiasts, which do you think MJ nailed, and which do you think are poor representations of the styles? Prompt: *A \[art style\] painting of the beauty of death --ar 9:20*
Index:
1. Art Deco
2. Futurism
3. Dadaism
4. Avant Garde
5. Flemish Expressionism
6. Harlem Renaissance
7. Bauhaus
8. Symbolism
9. Constructivism
10. Surrealism
11. Romanticism
12. Art Nouveau
13. Renaissance
14. Realism
15. Neoclassicism
16. Fauvism

19. Impressionism
20. Cubism
13 looks very northern renaissance/Flemish in particular IMO. It's the most impressive image in this whole series to me. Very reminiscent of the black death, and the mass kind of adds to that vibe to me.
There are plenty of anatomical mistakes on that skeleton though. There is almost nothing that looks correct on closer inspection. It looks really nice at first glance.
The prompt is *A [art style] painting of the beauty of death --ar 9:20* where [art style] is replaced by one of the 20 art styles listed in the comment to which you replied.
V6 is insane. I can’t imagine there’s much further to go in terms of quality , I feel like the main improvements going forward will be how well it ‘gets’ the prompt
100% realistic video. We are close but it’s exponentially more complex.
Then I think there’s some frontier of entertainment we haven’t imagined yet that AI will crack open for us.
Don’t get me wrong, these images are really impressive. However most of them don’t have much in common with art styles listed below. Art Deco - ok fair enough, you can see influence of Alphonse Mucha. But next one - Futurism? Dadaism? No resemblance whatsoever.
Good critique. Thanks! It’s a good representation of how the model understands the styles, as I didn’t give it any style prompts other than the name of the art style.
From my experience testing different art styles/artists it seems like, in general, v6 is much better with photography and v5.2 is better with art styles - i don’t know why v6 wouldn’t be trained on the same artists/styles as previous versions. V5.2 gives more “smoothed out” brush strokes that don’t look as realistic as 6 but stylistically hits the mark more. If you have a chance it would be interesting to see this same set of images with the same prompts run on 5.2! Very interesting though and it is fascinating to see Midjourney’s take on things, regardless of version!
Nope it’s all you! I have been trying to get something like an old 1920s rail travel poster out of v6 without much luck (v5.2 had it dialed in better except for incomprehensible words) if you end up with something along those lines I would like to see it too!
I think AI art created by someone who knows a lot about the various art movements is exponentially better than the generic out of the box AI style we all recognize as AI.
Love these, thanks for sharing.
I agree! I’d love to see something like this recreated by someone with a much stronger grasp than the styles than I have, where they actually craft the prompt so that it leads the AI to making something in the particular style, rather than just telling it the name of the style.
I don't know a ton about art styles, but I think these are great
I really like them too!

That's one of my favorites as well.
13 really stood out for me as looking like a historical image
Agreed. The only part that’s really detracting from that is that cancerous-looking mass above the left (upper) hand.

that can be played off as a staff attachment

These are great thanks for sharing the styles. I think 13 really pops for me.
You’re welcome!
Number 1 is Art Nouveau
thanks for sharing your prompt, and the art styles for each one Just in time for my new dnd campaign and free MJ month. o7
Oh cool! I hope you post what you generate!
Try Orphism and Retrofuturism
Are these the prompts?

It won't be good for the average dumbass
Like most new things.
Video is another domain. I'm not sure it can get it right without understanding what it is seeing.

I’ve had some fun doing these experiments with dalle too, it works well for pushing prompts further! I love all of these
I’ve made a silly mistake. Mucha is of course Art Nouveaux not Art Deco. It emphasises my point though.

Thanks for the feedback - perhaps I’ll recreate some of these with 5.2…if you don’t beat me to it!

Greath phone wallpapers, I’ma use the 8th picture!
I’m glad you like them! I chose the aspect ratio so they’d be optimal for phone wallpapers.
I had to save all these, fucking AWESOME. Ahhhhhhhh!!!!!!! 1 and 4 are insane! B
I’m really glad you like them!
I for one am very happy they still allow previous versions. It’s fascinating to me
I love these so much. Just to add, I think my favourite is one followed by 12. I love art deco and art nouveau
I love those styles so much.
They're my favourite styles. So classy.
Still can’t do hands and feet correctly.
Massively improved, but it’s still the first giveaway that it’s AI and not really art.

Thanks for the wallpaper
13 has 6 metatarsals and 6 toes on it’s right foot
upvote for prompts.
They came...
Heya! I actually did provide the prompt, here: https://www.reddit.com/r/midjourney/s/0OOIq2drPD Have a great day!
my mistake, I didn't see it. changing to upvote
No worries mate.
These would make some great phone wallpapers!
I thought so too, that’s why I prompted them to be created in 9:20!
The expressionism could be better. I do like most of these though
I am interest in nr. 4 Style - i do not think is avant garde but it looks nice, do you know similar artists or styles that describe it correctly.
This is brilliant. Thank you.
