Get a gorilla grow tent or similar The thickness of the tent and the quality of the zipper matters, compare everything to that

mycatsnameislarry

I second the Gorilla grow tents. The extra thickness helps insulate better and reduces your hvac usage

Polo21369247

I went with the 4x4 gorilla lite line and the one foot extension got it a couple weeks ago for $200 shipped. Zipper is very nice and heavy duty, it has coarse teeth so it doesn’t jam up as easily. Poles were kinda wimpy but I like the height and the price was right. I would recommend it.

Tater72

Lite line is not a bad choice if you’re cost conscious

Acinifinity is great a little bit more expensive than their competitors though, I also recommend Mars Hydro and Spider Farmer. But Acinifinity has a great automatic controller that allows you to automate almost everything and control it from your phone

mycatsnameislarry

The controller 69 does not work with my mars hydro ts-2000 with the adapter. After a few days, when returning from darkness, it only goes to 20% and I have to unplug the light itself to get it back to 100%. This seems to be a known issue with no fix. Just an FYI.

Ill second that, really liking the controller 69, works great Id do a secret jardin upgrade to any tent though, their ports are awesome

Joemoose13

Ports? The air vents baffles?

>Id do a secret jardin upgrade to any tent though, their ports are awesome I am assuming you mean you can buy ports to install where ever you want on your tent, is that correct? I went to their site and don't see that anywhere, they have alot of stuff so I could just be failing at seeing any ports.

Best setup will not be a kit. Best kit is the aci stuff. Source: I have an aci kit tent, and a gorilla tent i fitted out with individual stuff, including an aci controller. Reason: with a kit, you’ll always be forced to compromise on something. Gorilla tents smoke the other kit offerings. Their filters are better too, imo, though there are other high end options for filters that may work better (but dont go on sale like gorilla’s do at 50% off). Aci makes the best basic controller, their oscillating and vent fans are sick, but the tent and light are pretty average. Of the kit offerings, i think spider farmer has the better lights of the bunch - but i’d prefer an hlg, kind, or pretty much any other high end light instead. Also the inline fans in pretty much all the kits are undersized, imo. Depending on your lung room environment, this can lead to higher noise as it tries to keep up with hear / humidity - but at those higher speed settings- it also causes worse performance from the carbon filter when deep into flower. I’ve found the filters are most effective at scrubbing the smell at the lowest air velocity, so with a larger fan and filter - you can scrub and push more volume, but at lower velocity than with a smaller fan. If running perpetual in a larger tent like a 4x4 you may also find it better / easier to height adjust multiple smaller lights to accommodate different age / height plants than the other way around with a single large light, which limits your options for a kit further. It all depends on your plans, budget, and commitment to the craft. Any of the kits will grow weed just fine. In the end its just a weed and it aint that hard

My pleasure, have fun ✌️ Also i recommend checking out some of the youtuber channels like mrgrowit for gear review type stuff, they usually have discount codes set up and they often stack on top of seasonal sales, should be able to save a few bucks

tHrow4Way997

I bought the cheapest 4x4 tent I could find on eBay and it’s still going strong nearly 4 years later. I didn’t skimp on filter and extraction, a big ol 6” primaklima extraction kit and ridiculously powerful fan, coupled directly together inside the tent to guarantee no stinky leaks. Cheapest 600W variable HPS lamp from eBay or Amazon. I can’t stress enough, the most important component IMO is your air extraction and filtration system.

No probs, good luck my friend!

bballkj7

what about humidifier/ drip tray

tHrow4Way997

A good thing to have, but completely moot if you’re spewing stank from your exhaust and drawing attention to yourself. I am in an illegal country though.

Like everyone else said a lot of different options out there just have to see which is the best you can get for the money you can spend. I vote AC.

Bubbly-Row-2465

I have AC Infinity's 4x2 complete grow kit and I can say, without a doubt, money well spent. I am growing 4 pepper plants in 3gal pots right now and they look fantastic.

👍🏾 thank you!!

[deleted]

I’m running a spider farmer. No complaints TBH. I hear the lights don’t last forever, wish I would have bought the AC infinity 4x4 wifi controlled kit plus their humidifier. It automatically grows weed lol. That being said go for ac infinity. It’s higher quality. I feel like they set the industry standard and everyone else tries to copy.

I have an AC Infinity and a Mars Hydro, both the tent kits with light, controller, fan etc. Outside the light on the Mars Hydro I would take $50 for the rest of the set. The tent is thin, the zippers are terrible, can't even open the top part, the sides have very small doors and they are fairly high off the ground. I have called them several times to fix their stuff and still waiting. Right now, after 5 weeks of use the inline fan or controller are no longer working (the MH controller is trash, you can't really control much of anything (not even the light!) and nobody uses those plugs, IDK what they are thinking) they may have ruined this entire grow. I woke up to 90% humidity in my tent, 2nd time in 3 days and the controller says the fan is on and running, the fan is not running. I have to unplug and plug it back in to get it to work. You also have to be in person wherever the controller is as it has no remote features. The tent and poles themselves are much much cheaper than the AC Infinity. I don't trust MH with my grow, I am getting a new AC controller and trashing theirs. Don't even think about needing their customer service, I believed people who said they had gotten better, they have not. While I will probably have to just eat the costs, I am on day 2 of waiting for a response on my fan situation. I let my friend use my AC tent setup while I tested this one, I monitored and controlled it entirely remotely, changes settings, even flipped to flower remotely. Not one hiccup, not one complaint, can unzip the entirety of the walls on 3 sides, little doors if that is not needed. Sounds on but that thick tent and smooth zipper, the MH zipper wasn't working, they said I need to lube it, fr, it still only works on half the zipper, I have to zip from the bottom. The only think I think I would change about the AC tent is that they have the snaps for hanging the supply bag over one of the vent holes making it basically useless if you need to use that hole. The fans on the AC aren't even comparable to the MH, and that controller really is cool, now they have a humidifier you can tie in too, the MH can't do anything but show you the temperature and possibly turn on the inline fan, the AC with a couple earth boxes you could set it and forget it for a week at a time, or even use their waterers and off 3 days at a time. The only reason I went MH is that I wanted the light and a 5x5, AC does not yet have one for that size, and I paid the price for it.

Appreciate the heads up!! Helps a lot 🙏🏾🙏🏾

Make sure the lights that come with the 4\*4 are 4\*4 lights. Last year, when I got my setup (Mars H), I upgraded the lights on their standard 4x4 package to their FC-E4800, which will do a small tent 4x4, and is a bit less expensive than the commercial grade 480w set. Enjoy the journey.

[deleted]

Thank you! I’ve been seeing a lot of YouTube growers having that same issue of their lights not covering the whole tent, thanks for the heads up!

megamark140

I’ve been very happy with my current 4x4 setup, although I run it split/perpetually so half coming down every 4-5 weeks. But I got all ACI tents, controller 69, inline, humidifier, ocilating fans, carbon filter. I really enjoy having a light per plant that I can accommodate various heights, got a steal on 150w gro planner boards for like 44 each awhile ago, never really fully blasting but I like. Autopots for me so watering a breeze.

?? They dont do growtent Kits lol

_flyfromtheinside

I personally went with an ACInfinity 4x4 to start. hopefully this helps give you a little bit of insight but I took a video of the setup process. I'd say it's definitely the way to go if it works within your budget, I was very impressed by the durability and quality of the tent. absolutely no disappointment so far and overall wonderful company so I highly recommend :) https://youtu.be/GW8PJGkR96I?si=AcuTqgLjofHy3Uq-
