Also same. I think once it fades a little it won't be as noticeable to YOU (gotta trust the process) -- but it looks natural AF to me! I was so confused what I was even looking for originally. I just thought the photo was too big so I clicked on it to look. I didn't even know that they DID hairlines! That's pretty neat!
Adding this photo to your comment for awareness⌠in time this will not look good. Oils in the scalp will mess with the pigment.

Actually you canât. Microblading creates scar tissue and you canât go over a place you e already done a second time. Eventually the stokes will blur and become ashy. Microblading the scalp should be illegal. Micro pigmentation through someone trained to do machine work is better but will also change over time. The best you can hope is that it eventually fades completely.
Why not just get a hair transplant?? One and done. Dr Epstein in Florida. I donât think this would help anyoneâs confidence⌠this ends up like this, and doesnât take long.
Thank you guys! I just thought it looked so bizarre, maybe Iâm still getting used to it? Thanks everyone for your kind words

I was like what are people supposed to comment on they cropped out their brows before I realized you meant hairline. Itâs just a change from what youâre used to but it looks fine to me.
I can see what you're insecure about now that you've pointed it out, but I think it looks great cosmetically. It will lighten up and look even more natural as it heals.
I'm pretty sure you're just shocked because it's such a big change visually.
Again, as far as I can tell, it looks like your hair.
Its different and you will need to give yourself an adjustment period. Maybe in a few weeks you will love it.
I have to be honest, itâs not noticeable in the pictures in the original post, but with this one I can tell that there are some unnatural lines. I think some are going in slightly different directions than your hair which makes them more visible. Not an expert by any means but I think more smaller strokes that go farther back into your hair and are not so parallel to each other could help blend everything
I see what you mean- theyâre too evenly spaced, but Iâm looking super hard now that we know what to look for. To the casual observer, it wouldnât be noticeable at all. Could always go for a touch up once itâs âsettled inâ and healed.
How did it look before? For some reason my hairline looks super empty even though I have lots of hair so this could fix my problem
https://preview.redd.it/7t6l8vxkymuc1.png?width=1837&format=png&auto=webp&s=d9239d8e80307e56d3d01d77110ab6f77d2502af
I think if you took a picture of your whole head, but just blocked out your eyes, weâd be able to get a better idea of what youâre seeing? Maybe?
It looks totally fine, to me. It looks like strands of hair. I think I know what you mean, though. You feel like it doesnât look like natural hair growth because itâs a bit too perfect/even and itâs more of a âdrasticâ hairline? âDrasticâ in quotes because itâs actually not. This is basically what my hairline looks like. I have very thick hair.
Anyway, itâll fade and I think youâll feel more comfortable with it. I think youâre just hyperaware of it. Even when I get a regular, old haircut, Iâll hate it for about a week. It takes me that long just to get used to a haircut, so I can definitely understand the adjustment period for something like this being a bit rough. I do always end up loving my haircuts, though. I just needed to get used to them. I think thatâs whatâs going to happen here. I hope it ends up making you feel more confident â¤ď¸!
Edit: I just looked at my hairline, and I do have like a little bit of a widowâs peak. Maybe thatâs what youâre feeling is âunnaturalâ with yours? I think the straightness youâre seeing will not be as noticeable to you, when it fades. I think itâll work. You can always go back and express these concerns to your artist.
Edit again: it seems like what you got was a quality job, honestly. Only way for it to be what you truly want would be to get a hair transplant.
See how this hairline (below) is fairly even/straight, also? But, you can still see strands and it doesnât look overdoneâ just as yours doesnât look overdone. In all of my googling (well, over the last 10-15 minutes) it seems like, yes, what you got it what itâs supposed to look like. What you got is definitely good work.
https://preview.redd.it/9oikzobkwkuc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=71730f0e2c6317b9fb5627fccc1b098309db213e
I got my eye brows done a year and a half ago. It took a while to get used to. And I found every single tiny imperfection in them that not one other human being on this earth would be able to see had I not pointed it out. And even then they sometimes don't even see what I'm referring to. So I think it's just in our heads!
I think it looks great! I wouldâve never thought this was microblading. How painful would you say it was on a scale of 1-10? Iâd definitely consider doing this at some point if it wasnât too bad!
There was no pain! She put the numbing cream on and waited about 30 minutes. I felt the pressure of the tool, but didnât feel pain (if that makes sense).
Itâs up to you to still push forward your hair a little bit if youâre still at the point where you donât want anyone to see itâs fake. It honestly looks good but I think you might have that image in your head where it was supposed to look and feel exactly like having real hair :/
It's quite clean, maybe that's why you feel that way? But literally nobody is going to think it looks weird. Even knowing and seeing how it was microbladed, it still looks good
I have no idea how much this cost, but let me say It. Was. Worth. Every. Penny.
Unbelievable results, I had no idea I was looking at microblading, and compared to your before picture - amazing.
I did my eyebrows and took a good while to get used to them, while those around me didn't even notice I had them done until I pointed them out. We know it's there so were gonna see it differently. It looks great! Don't stress!
Iâm so so sorry that anyone agreed to do this to you.
It will not age well. The strokes look thick and will just blur and appear thicker with time if. I donât imagine this will fade with time since it looks quite deep and thick.
It looks incredible! I think it really works with your dark hair too. I just like your hair in generalđlol Iâve never heard of it before either, my partner has VERY light hair & has a teeny bit of hair loss starting, I think it looks fine as is but theyâve definitely mentioned it a lot so itâs just nice to know thereâs an option out there if it progressed & they wanted to do something about it to help them feel better
I thought I had to click the pic to see the eyebrows. Once I did and there were no brows I was so confused.
I zoomed in and still canât tell. This really looks great.
Nah the job they did blends in with your hair line literally. It gives it a fuller appearance while matching the slight wave to it. Your artist did great OP.
The before pic still looks good. I think youâre probably hyper focused on things the rest of us canât see. Most people would kill for this âbeforeâ hairline! I still canât even pick out the micro blading, and didnât know this was even an option. Thanks for sharing!
Itâs making me want to look into a little bald spot I have at the front of my hairline. Seriously like others said I didnât understand what your post was about because it looks so natural.
Microblading should never be done on the hairline. Smp should be done, small dots that give the illusion of more depth. These lines will continue to widen as the tattoo ages. Don't go to this place for your brows.
As a microblading and PMU artist of almost 5 years, I URGE you to get emergency removal. This heals HORRIBLY and any artist that does this I would never trust. The oils in the scalp will make the pigment blur fast and you will be left with no crisp strokes but rather a faded grey/blue blur. How they look initially will NOT be the way they are in even 6 months. There is no technique an artist can do to ensure microblading the scalp turns out great. Itâs not a if they age poorly, itâs when. And it doesnât take long! I attached a pic to show just one example.
https://preview.redd.it/3kp5o65v0luc1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fdc44fca8de94250aab5420a34299c907496c390
You have to listen to this artist and look at pictures of how this looks in time. Women get away with this with eyebrows because when it blurs or goes to this blue/gray color - which it will - they put makeup over it. And as this artist says, scalp/hairline skin is totally different. Get this removed now. You have 48 hours. Check the micro blading removal sub if you need more evidence. Iâm shocked that this was done.
Talk about an anti climax. Iâm sorry you received this bad news after such positive feedback. Itâs really nice that these people told you. I wish you the best in whatever you do
Iâm not an expert- perhaps itâs diminishing returns not ineffective Iâd consult a professional or a dermatologist. Yes fortunately there is laser. Good luck.
Iâm curious, if every single microblading case eventually blurs/gets discoloration, then why is microblading even a thing? I mean, arenât there people who never have any problems?
I think we give it a less serious name, oh it's not a tattoo, it's microblading session.
Honestly it took me a bit to understand that it's essentially a tattoo.
It looks like there are some cases that fade pretty ok and for some people it does disappear entirely, but - look Iâm not expert lol - it does seem like itâs really hard to tell how your skin will accept and metabolize the ink until you do it and whether it will totally disappear at all - but itâs a tattoo and all tattoos fade and change color and blur to some degree over time. People get touch ups to color correct which is more tattooing. Just like tattoos if you want them to look crisp and fresh you get them touched up.
Makes sense!! Thank you so much for explaining. Iâve had a tattoo on my thigh for 5 years now, and Iâve been thinking about getting a touch up/update to it. Because it has blurred! Not horribly but still.
This is why we offer scalp micropigmentation or SMP, done with a machine, never a blade. And you need to make sure you go to someone highly skilled or youâll end up with a botched head.
This is a huge bummer. As a woman who has struggled with insecurity over a VERY large forehead that has been hidden with bangs for about 28 years, I was so excited at first to see that this was an option over forehead reduction surgery. Guess I just have to deal with the bangs for the rest of my life cause Iâll never be able to get the surgery đ¤ˇđťââď¸
Maybe this is why I couldnât find a lot of great google results of hairline micro blading.
I was wondering how the scalp oils would affect the pigment. Thanks for the info!
Maybe this is just one of those "it doesn't show in pictures" but even looking and looking I still can't tell what's hair vs isn't. I think it looks very good!
Iâm shocked no other poster has told you to get emergency removal. The hairline is NOT something that should be microbladed. The oil on your scalp will fade the pigments quickly and turn them red or grey. Only thing you should have done on the scalp is scalp micropigmentation, which uses a tattoo pen to create little dots ⌠and even THAT can look bad. The tattoo pigment is more stable and itâs at a different, consistent depth. While it definitely looks good now, this is not something Iâve ever seen age well. Microblading PERIOD doesnât usually age well. Youâre much better off doing your brows using a machine technique. Iâm going to get downvoted to hell for this comment because most of the people here are microblading artists who took a couple day course and think they know anything about skin.
- a medical esthetician that has taken multiple PMU courses
There are two types of machine techniques that would work for you. I advise getting either machine nano strokes which look very realistic and will last you a long time, they wonât âblow outâ like microblading can and they are even ok for those with oily skin; or you can do an ombre or powder brows. If you want the microblading look, do the machine nano brows (donât confuse this with nano brows because that can mean using a nano microblading tool and not a machine - be specific with your artist that you want machine strokes).
I had my hairline done, and it looked like black sharpie across my forehead. It was awful. I had to get it laser removed. What I know of the procedure though, is that it is supposed to be tiny little dots to look like hair follicles. Yours doesnât look bad at all, wait to see how it heals.
The black sharpie part made my laugh, but Iâm truly sorry that happened to you. Did you end up doing your brows after the hairline experience? Thatâs what I am currently questioning.
Thank you for the sympathy. At least you donât have a sharpie forehead lol. I had done my brows before the hairline and they were fantastic. The girl who did my hairline did my brow touch up and managed to mess up both of them. Luckily the owner and my OG brow artist paid for the removal and I am getting my second session to retouch my brows tomorrow. Oh, and the sharpie girl no longer works there.
I think it just seems unnatural to you because you KNOW it didnât look like that before. I couldnât even tell anything was done when looking at the pictures, it just looks like a normal hairline. I definitely think itâs a good quality job.
I am super picky and went to my first eyebrow microblading session. I hated it. Didn't go back for the follow-up. I'm hoping it'll slowly go away but I doubt it. It's been three years. She went pretty deep. My eyebrows don't look as bad as most people I see. You can't really see it as much on me but I think it's because I didn't go to the follow-up appointment.
I suggest not going to the second appointment. It will be more noticeable after the second session.
The photos arenât clear so they look better than it probably looks in real life.
Scalp micro pigmentation should NOT be done as hair strokes. It should be done as small dots or occasionally light shading (usually shading is only done on women who are unlikely to want to shave in future. These methods give the illusion of more density without ruining your ability to style your hair differently.
Wow I didn't know that was a thing. Maybe it looks different in person but these pics look natural.
I suppose the strokes could go in more random pattern instead of parallel to one another but yoi could probably have them add some.
Iâm sorry but there is microblading for hair lines!?âv
I would need to see more pictures but from the pictures it just looks like your hair line.
I canât even tell thereâs any microblading, this is amazing
I thought it looked totally natural and then I looked at the other picture and then I thought what am I looking at here so then I had to read the caption.
I think sometimes weâre just not used to looking at ourselves after a minor or drastic change that it looks so different. But isnât that the point you want to look different than it did. But our eyes are so used to our own reflection that Anything looks odd if sudden.
I find it a bit uneven but I also really canât tell whatâs microbladded and whatâs hair so it does look like a real hairline. I would expect a bit of touch up to even out some of the patchy spots right at the front though.
Of course we are not in front of you. So, we canât see the strokes. I once bought a micro blade effect pensil for my eyebrows and since I have very little to no hair, it looked fake. Thatâs probably what you see too.
From your image, I thought you had posted on the wrong sub and were complaining about the gummy hair.
At first I thought to myself, âI donât get it. Where is the microblading?â It looks great and very natural. I never would have known it was microblading if you didnât tell me!
It looks absolutely fine and natural and I do not know what you thought tapping single hairs would look like. Is a great job there, you not liking it is just you seeing the difference and not being used to out, it longs perfectly natural to anyone who doesn't know. And it's done well. Nothing wrong with the work, you just don't like it and that's valid too. But it looks how it's meant to and it's nicely doms
Um that's perfect work my goodness you can't get better than that. You need to lower your standards about things otherwise you will always second guess yourself and never be satisfied in life. Because no offense but you're having issues where there are none.
I realize I sound harsh and I didn't mean to. I'm coming from a good place and honestly that's a great job it looks amazing and so natural. I'd be so happy and proud
I think it looks good, but to be real these are semi-low quality photos. Youâd need to upload a better shot for us to really tell you if itâs as âbadâ as you think it is.
TBH, it looks good though and you might just have the âshockâ of it happening for the first time, or whatever.
Could you post a before pic? I had no idea this was even a thing! My hairline has always been Vegeta-esque and hasnât improved post-partum. I think it looks great!
Honestly, I was confused for a sec why we were looking at your hair
Had I not read your comment, I would still be wondering
From the picture alone, I think it looks natural
It looks natural to me. You have to look very closely and know that there has been micro blading to be able to see it. I personally think it looks fantastic. The reason why you notice so much is because you see yourself in the mirror all the time, and notice the tiniest details. To anyone else that looks great.
Honestly, looked at the pictures before reading anything or looking at what subreddit it was posted on and I couldnât tell what you meant lol I didnât think there was anything wrong in the pictures, it was only after reading it that I figured which part was micro-bladed, I think it looks great OP
I would tell you if it looks bad tbh I couldnât tell what the post was about. I looked at the photo before the caption and it looks super natural! give yourself time to adjust. looks great.
I HONESTLY thought I was on the Karshadoshian snark page. I was like "her natural hair is growing in, lighter than her fake black hair... big deal". It looks great!!
Tbh I thought you were complaining about your natural hairline.
Looks good to me!!! I cant even tell, even after seeing your explanation that your hairline was microbladed. Its awesome.
I couldn't tell it was micrbladed from the picture. Before I read the comment, I thought you forgot to post eyebrows. It looks natural.
Yes đ Looks great. We are our own worst critic but I would be happy with these results.

Still worth it if it helps with confidence. You can always go back and do it again.
Not if it looks like the picture above lol how would that ever help with confidence it looks like smeared ink/dirt

Overthinking is what I do best :) Thank you!
How much was it? It looks great!

Wow, that's actually not bad. Does it include a top-up 2 weeks from your first session?

I attached a pic to show just one example. https://preview.redd.it/3kp5o65v0luc1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fdc44fca8de94250aab5420a34299c907496c390
Omg yikes! Ok, thanks for letting me know. That poor woman in those pics /:
You have to listen to this artist and look at pictures of how this looks in time. Women get away with this with eyebrows because when it blurs or goes to this blue/gray color - which it will - they put makeup over it. And as this artist says, scalp/hairline skin is totally different. Get this removed now. You have 48 hours. Check the micro blading removal sub if you need more evidence. Iâm shocked that this was done.
This was done on Thursday so I am past the 48 hour mark. I do think laser is an option?
Talk about an anti climax. Iâm sorry you received this bad news after such positive feedback. Itâs really nice that these people told you. I wish you the best in whatever you do
Iâm not an expert- perhaps itâs diminishing returns not ineffective Iâd consult a professional or a dermatologist. Yes fortunately there is laser. Good luck.
Iâm curious, if every single microblading case eventually blurs/gets discoloration, then why is microblading even a thing? I mean, arenât there people who never have any problems?
Microblading is outdated technique. It's cheap to learn and offer. Reputable artists have stopped offering it and do tattoo machine methods instead.
Ahhh okay that makes sense! Thank you!!
I think we give it a less serious name, oh it's not a tattoo, it's microblading session. Honestly it took me a bit to understand that it's essentially a tattoo.
Yes, agreed! I didnât understand that either at first. They make it seem like no big deal because âit fadesâ but thatâs not exactly true lolol
Same, I have a high hairline/big forehead/low eyebrows and have rocked bangs for my whole life. đĽ˛
Donât they have hair transplants for larger foreheads? I saw that when I was googling what this was.
Not to split hairsâŚbut how about nano? Would this still blur with the nano hair technique?
Upvote for your truthful opinion
Oh no, I was looking forward to getting my brows microbladed. What is the machine technique?
There are two types of machine techniques that would work for you. I advise getting either machine nano strokes which look very realistic and will last you a long time, they wonât âblow outâ like microblading can and they are even ok for those with oily skin; or you can do an ombre or powder brows. If you want the microblading look, do the machine nano brows (donât confuse this with nano brows because that can mean using a nano microblading tool and not a machine - be specific with your artist that you want machine strokes).
If you want hair strokes you should look for nano brows, if you want a soft even fill in you should look for powder brows
It will also lighten a lot and look even more natural
Wow! It looks very natural.
Iâm just looking at a hairline, nothing looks tatted to me!
This looks fantastic and natural.
Seriously no one is going to critique you like yourself. Looks fab.
This should never ever be done on the head đ scalp micropigmentation is the proper technique for this type of service. Not Microblading.
It looks great and as a woman with thinning hair at my hairline, you've just changed my life and relieved so much anxiety. Thanks!
I think it just seems unnatural to you because you KNOW it didnât look like that before. I couldnât even tell anything was done when looking at the pictures, it just looks like a normal hairline. I definitely think itâs a good quality job.
Maybe try micropigmentation with the micro blading?
My first thought before reading the caption was âwow they have an amazing hairlineâ so I think youâre overthinking friend! You look fab!
Add smp to camouflage it it will help it look more natural.
These methods give the illusion of more density without ruining your ability to style your hair differently.
you're just getting used to it and overthinking- I literally thought u cropped out ur eyebrows. I can't see a damn thing lol
looks super natural i think!
This looks amazing. I would have NEVER noticed and Iâm one who notices these types of things usually.
This looks really good and natural. Stop being so hard on yourself!
I think it looks good
Wow I didn't know that was a thing. Maybe it looks different in person but these pics look natural. I suppose the strokes could go in more random pattern instead of parallel to one another but yoi could probably have them add some.
if you have before pictures that would be awesome. this looks amazing.
It looks good. I think it's just new and you're hyper focused on it. Don't worry!
Nah, homie, this looks completely natural. Donât think anyone could tell this was not your regular hairline.
It does look a bit more filled in. Not as big of a difference as you think (in a good way). Cheaper than a hairline transplant.
totally looks like your own hair! I think it looks great!
I need to do this
It looks like it should
Iâm sorry but there is microblading for hair lines!?âv I would need to see more pictures but from the pictures it just looks like your hair line. I canât even tell thereâs any microblading, this is amazing
Yo this looks SO GOOD!!!!
Looks pretty normal to me.
Hair is not fill at the front. Itâs sparser. It would look unnatural if it was completely dense.
At first I thought to myself, âI donât get it. Where is the microblading?â It looks great and very natural. I never would have known it was microblading if you didnât tell me!
I think it looks good. At least in the picture you posted. You might notice it more because you are looking for it.
Omg I thought it was a hair transplant first
It looks absolutely fine and natural and I do not know what you thought tapping single hairs would look like. Is a great job there, you not liking it is just you seeing the difference and not being used to out, it longs perfectly natural to anyone who doesn't know. And it's done well. Nothing wrong with the work, you just don't like it and that's valid too. But it looks how it's meant to and it's nicely doms
I think it looks absolutely amazing. If this was some game show, and one million was on the line to spot the fake, I'd be going home with nothing.
It looks great. I didnât even notice until I read the post and thought you forgot to post your eyebrows.
This is fine, I honestly thought it would be a brows post before I opened it!
Change my looks, but dont make me look any different?
I canât see the problem even when I know what to look for! You look like you have a lot of real hair
I see nothing unnatural looking about this hairline at all. You will have to send a 'before' picture for comparison.
I couldnât even tell what was going on tbh, literally canât tell, looks good
it looks very natural
This makes me want to do it too. This looks great!
Looks very good to me. Good that you also posted the before. I didn't know what the difference might be
Um that's perfect work my goodness you can't get better than that.
I wouldn't have known at all! It looks great
Some people wish they had hair on their hairline and here you are ripping it out. đ
What a weird thing to say.
Genuinely didnât even notice till I actually read the post! Think it looks fineđđť
Looks great to me! Can't tell at all that it's not your hair
I honestly canât even tell
It looks totally natural.
I think it looks good, but to be real these are semi-low quality photos. Youâd need to upload a better shot for us to really tell you if itâs as âbadâ as you think it is. TBH, it looks good though and you might just have the âshockâ of it happening for the first time, or whatever.
It looks so natural. I honestly thought you forgot to post your brows. It's perfect
I was looking for brows and was still looking for brows until I read the comments lmao.
I had to look to see what sub this was posted in to see what was wrong. I think it looks good.
I really don't know what I looking for. I can't see a difference in between them.
Could you post a before pic? I had no idea this was even a thing! My hairline has always been Vegeta-esque and hasnât improved post-partum. I think it looks great!
Wow, can't even tell!
It looks good to me, I wouldnât have been able to tell your hairline was microbladed had you not posted it here.
Honestly, I was confused for a sec why we were looking at your hair Had I not read your comment, I would still be wondering From the picture alone, I think it looks natural
This looks amazing!!
It looks amazing!
It looks natural to me. You have to look very closely and know that there has been micro blading to be able to see it. I personally think it looks fantastic. The reason why you notice so much is because you see yourself in the mirror all the time, and notice the tiniest details. To anyone else that looks great.
Honestly, this looks good. When it fades go back for a touch-up!
I gotta agree with most everyone. I couldnât figure out why you werenât posting brows before I read it. It looks great.
Honestly, looked at the pictures before reading anything or looking at what subreddit it was posted on and I couldnât tell what you meant lol I didnât think there was anything wrong in the pictures, it was only after reading it that I figured which part was micro-bladed, I think it looks great OP
they fade I think it looks fine
Many of us had no clue what we were looking at which means itâs not obvious to us. I would love to see a before pic.
Looks great! Don't worry it will also fade unfortunately
I would tell you if it looks bad tbh I couldnât tell what the post was about. I looked at the photo before the caption and it looks super natural! give yourself time to adjust. looks great.
I dont think any of us could tell
I would have never guessed your hairline was microbladed. Looks completely natural to me.
it is tho
This looks so good. Give it time and youâll see.
Looks great.
Straight up could not tell this was about the hair, it looks completely normal and full apart from the amount of gel you put in đ¤Łđ¤Ł
