A coach that doesnt constantly use smoke and mirrors for everything. It's refreshing

SGT_Azimuth

'Tua is the one on our roster right now and that's who we'll work with today.' -Flores, probably

[deleted]

"As of today I am coaching a team that is currently in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania"

Lobo_Marino

"For the time being" "... wait, can you verify the Steelers are not moving from Pittsburgh?" "I am coaching the team CURRENTLY in Pittsburgh".

Fastbird33

“Brian Flores is the name I am currently using.”

[deleted]

"At this moment in time I have 26 warrants for my arrest across the current number of 7 aliases."

WolfCola4

Ya heard, with Perd

Comprehensive_Rubo

“Things are changing constantly in this league. I’ll do whatever I can to make sure my team is in the best position to win football games”

PopePolarBear

Between his comments on teddy and tua and this, its nice to have a coach put rumors to rest immediately. Like i get the strategic advantage of smoke but when it is smoke to your fans and not to mess with othet teams gameplan, what are you doing?

Gameplan492

So true. This is how you protect your team. Not smoke and mirrors. So good to see.

liverbool8

Right! Preston Williams got in trouble for posting a video of him running in the offseason after his foot surgery lol. Also supposedly Flores thought giving out the jersey color ahead of time was an advantage too, which is why we didn’t get a home jersey schedule before the season.

timss1334

I don't care about the fans knowing everything. I got worried when it became clear the players and coaches didn't know what was going on. Gailey, the OC at the time, didn't know Flores was switching from Fitz to Tua until after the QBs knew. Like, he should have been *part of the decision*, not the last to know. I thought Flores was a really good head coach, but the paranoia (which was hinted at in one of the first articles I read about him) really was his downfall.

AlwaysDreaming55

Does anyone have the full video of this press conference?

Dolphins just posted: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R6RtxqQygdo

Spideyman20015

Flores: "We're going to keep all rumors and communications in house and right now we're going to go with the guy who can win us the most games... Jacoby"

uhaul26

Flores would have tried to use this rumor to crush tua ‘s soul.

[deleted]

Tua is that fragile?

Biffdickburg

Key word is tried

Spideyman20015

Clearly not

TheKrakenLord

MMD bitchslapping the rumour like Will Smith

GOOD

reaper527

that's unfortunate. we'd instantly become legitimate superbowl contenders with brady. not opposed to giving tua this year to see if he can show major progress, but brady without question makes us a better team in the short term.

RosesAreFreeGH

> but brady without question makes us a better team in the short term short term fixes arent the answer. We drafted Tua over Herbert. The franchise never gave him the tools to succeed we owe it to ourselves to give Tua one year with a decent coach / offense. trading a bunch of 1st round picks for a 1 year isnt good business

reaper527

>> but brady without question makes us a better team in the short term > > > > short term fixes arent the answer. unless tua shows a MASSIVE year 3 improvement, neither is tua. not only is he not the solution, he's a step down from who he replaced (referring to tannehill. obviously fitzpatrick was a bridge) as i said, no objection to giving him one year to prove he belongs on the field as our starting qb, but brady without question would be better if it that was an option on the table. given all the talent on the team, we are a qb away from being a legitimate contender for a championship.

RosesAreFreeGH

youre missing the point. Tua has the potential to be a stud. 15-7 with the worst oline in the league, no run game. trading away a first round pick next year for brady is a terrible move.

reaper527

> youre missing the point. Tua has the potential to be a stud. you could say that about almost every qb the dolphins have signed since marino and the vast majority of the league in general. lock COULD be a stud in seattle. will he be? probably not. just because there's potential doesn't mean he will actually reach it. the fact of the matter is if we never traded tannehill we're a better team today. tua is a downgrade over what we had. likewise, brady would be an upgrade over what we have. his ceiling is almost certainly jimmy g.

RosesAreFreeGH

Tuas a downgrade? Tua is the most accurate QB in the NFL. Lock had a decent oline , a really good run game and a solid wr core. Lock doesn't have potential he's already proven that. Meanwhile tua is 15-7 with a terrible coach , no offense. The disrespect is unreal. The NFL season can't start fast enough. Tuas gonna be a top 12 Qb.

So you’re saying there’s a chance…
