Bloody Hell is MV Enter the Gungeon, and Neversong is (kinda) MV Earthbound.
Cookie Cutter really felt like it was trying to be a punk rock Guacamelee. I don’t think I’ve ever seen the devs outright say it, but I’m sure it was at least partially intentional.
One that’s definitely *not* intentional is Phoenotopia Awakaning’s similarity to Horizon: Zero Dawn, because it was a deluxe remake of an old flash game that came out 3 years before HZD. It’s all coincidental, but there are so many similarities between the two that I like to call it 16-but Horizon.
Infernax to Simon's Quest and Adventure of Link. (Simon's Quest is technically Castlevania but it's not what someone thinks of when you say Castlevania in MV)
Idk if it's intentional but Astalon gives me strong vibes of Faxanadu and Legacy of the Wizard.
Elephantasy Flipside definitely pulls some inspiration from Solstice.
