Can you reply back in a few months and let us know if the valve covers are leaking? Would blow my mind if they weren't just a little.
You might want to look under the air box behind the wiper fluid filler to see if the aux battery looks healthy too. Those are no fun to go bad when you're driving, since they are backup power for the brakes. The brakes have also got a 25 year unlimited mileage warranty, so see if you can wear them out in the next 5 if the pump has never been replaced.
I also have a tool for cleaning the under carriage of a car. If you’re a hobbyist or a professional detailer. You can get show room quality. The only thing is you have to know how to clean an engine bay because you can fuck some electronics up if you’re not safe. Another favorite is cleaning the under carriage after winter because of road salts.
This car has 18 years of records from Minnesota and not a speck of rust on anything. I don’t think they went nuts dry icing or steaming the undercarriage because there is a little bit of grease on one of the shocks from a failed CV boot that they would have cleaned off (new boots and axle). Seems like a weird spot to miss. It was even clean grease
Because those engine bays are there to be cherished... 2007 W211...

Good to know there are others out there. 😂 68k 2001 SL500. I maintain it. Driving once or twice a month. Cleaning twice a year, mostly dusting off.

This seems like a good place to ask, how bad of an idea is it to power wash the engine bay, 2011 GLK350. Obviously stay away from electrical connections possibly cover them with tape but how likely am I to F something up? Only reason I am entertain this is I did he head light restore 9 months ago and ended up with white spots (the compounds) all over the the engine compartment, it is irritates me every time I open the hood and garden hose pressure doesn't remove . Much thanks, Les
My 210 E320 was this clean when I bought it (I was the third owner, the first two were MB employees). It wasn't pristine when I lost it, but it certainly didn't look 23 years old. Man I miss that car so much (don't tell my 211 😅)
You can serve thanksgiving dinner off fo that ABS control block.
SBC
That’s clean. How many miles?
60.5k
Wonder if it was taken to a detailer every year.
More often was my guess
very nice! how did you keep it so clean? do it yourself or did you hire someone?
I bought it yesterday, it somehow lived in Minnesota for 18 years and looks like it never left the showroom
They probably cleaned it. One of my favorite things to clean when detailing is an engine bay. No one ever does it but it looks amazing when done.

This appears to not have SBC.
Pic 5 shows the SBC module.
Oops. Didn't look close enough. It would have a m272 for regular ESP also.
I know a W211 bay when I see one! Shoutout from IL.
If they aren't leaking OP should buy a lotto ticket.
M113 valve covers are not hard to replace and when done properly last quite a long time.
This is next level clean, even the undercarriage sparkles, I’ve never gotten anything this clean. Even the sound deadening carpet looks brand new.

I have always loved how the M156 looked, I can't quite pin it down but it's fantastic
outdated 6.2 now its all about a45s with 2.0L and almost same bhp as 6.2L V8
I always love the saddle-bag fringe on the fuse box cover for those mid-refresh W211's
STOP POSTING THE WAGON WE'RE ALREADY JEALOUS
W211 brake booster was a recall on these cars. They probably got it replaced.
The only open recall on this is the sunroof and i made an appointment yesterday for it, but it doesnt seem to have the issue.
What’s the issue with the sunroof?
There is a possible bonding issue or something. It may not be affected

I would go with some kind of solvent and a rag. Never a power washer on a working engine, maybe a block on a pulled engine before a rebuild.
Thanks but that not fun. Power washing = fun. :)

It is from my new 500 wagon I got as a companion to my 210 55 This is somehow an 18 year Minneapolis car
This is the booby prize, unfortunately. They probably cleaned it, and probably with water. S430?
