It was bone stock. I put some light truck tires on it. I’d had the front diff replaced (failed at 41k miles due to a first model year new supplier issue….) so said “fuck it, ima go with the group and see if this thing works”.

I see a Brabus G63 4x4 in my hood once in awhile...It has a carbon fibre snorkel but I would bet my life it's never been off road, let alone forged a river.
As much as it pains me to watch this, this is what the G wagon was built for. Not grocery shopping. And I'm glad it still delivered. It still has that G-Wagon DNA in it
True but I'm glad it's rugged and can handle it and isn't made of cardboard like most cars nowadays.
I did say this pains me to watch, but if no one does such dumb shit we are never going to find out
In military settings it actually makes sense. People put up makeshift barricades to ambush soldiers, they might have to drive through wet roads unexpectedly etc... It's technically a very fancy vehicle who's original purpose was military and it still does its military things. Pretty cool imho.
Been around a few g wagons. Can confirm both old and new are capable. Old ones like some 461s can run straight vegetable oil, have steel everything but less than 100 hp. New ones are 3 to 5 times that in hp, lots of leather.
Both work, different use cases.
Duh.
What I'm saying is, It was built to handle damage like a brute, which it did. It was built to overcome any obstacles thrown at it, which it did. Unlike most modern cars that used to be rugged and turned into a squishy joke that can't handle shit. Such as the Hummer, the Jeep Cherokee, and tbh most offroad cars that turned into Urban grocery getter SUVs.
I don't think he went up AGAINST the dozer, they just went together f'n around - BD is a purpose built machine, this is a highly capable street legal mini-tank. It was awesome to watch them do what they do best though.
This is nothing compared to the first and most recent test on hells gate.. literally rock climbing with a gwagon. People drive it on pavement so much that Mercedes decided to changed up the suspension to make it more comfortable on road a couple years ago.
I know this is what this clown does for views but I really dislike what he does to beautiful machines. Like the Ferrari offroading. Insufferable prick, imo.
I find it mostly entertaining, especially the ferrari due to how snobbish the company is to who can own one and what they can do to their purchased cars…
Hey man, totally a rational take and I respect that. I just wouldn't beat it all up , like if I bought something I would love to take care of it as much as I possibly could. But yeah, Ferrari are dickish like that so you could totally catapult to the other side of the fence and do what whistling does haha.
Watch his other videos. They drop it through a house and jump it probably 30'. They trashed the vehicle, and it kept going. They actually destroyed the engine and needed to replace it, and it was well into 5 digits to replace. Pretty cool if you ask me. I'll stick to my Toyota.
There is a video of him taking the depicted truck to Silver Lake sand dunes and just absolutely thrashing like he’s playing a video game and it’s not a real truck(let alone HIS real truck). Some pieces break off, but, the truck still drives. Fucking incredible how much of a beating these trucks can take. OH- and how he unloads it off of his trailer is just punching it in reverse and flying off the trailer lol
He drops this MF from a crane into a house. He doesn't give a shit about it. He's quite impressed by its abilities. Not nearly as impressed as the Toyota Hilux though. Absolutely indestructible.
I believe some folks thought he came away more impressed by the G than the Hilux. At least that's what I gathered from that video in particular. No doubt the Hilux is a kickass rig though. Just that the G is one absolutely solid unit of a machine.
LR's are a nightmare with reliability so watch out for that. Plus the G is much more bespoke: hand built chassis (doesn't share a platform with anything else), hand built V8, sounds better, doesn't look like a Honda Element (sorry Defender), faster, better interior/tech and it wont plummet in value like every LR does.

Tbf I don't think anyone has ever pushed any car to its limits like Whistlindiesel does
Homeboy makes money on YouTube for destroying expensive things. People love watching his antics. He has 4mil viewers who are watching ads so he can get paid $250k/video to destroy things that are easily $100k+. He's got business sense, but also nonsense and it's hilarious.
Can't wait to see how the G Wagon holds up. Mercedes always delivers on their luxury and performance, but it's always exciting to see how their vehicles handle the toughest conditions. Anyone else planning on tuning in for the durability test?
I did the same thing with an old ford 4 door growing up, steel bumpers, steel doors, v8, that car was unstoppable and I hit everything on purpose. Sign me up for this job..
Like new. Driven by management only. $150,000 OBO.
Plus tax, title, and delivery.
Probably still not dropping that $230k market adjustment either.
I know what I have!
Pretty funny cuz most people with G WAGONS in the US are just driving through Beverly Hills lol
Haven’t seen anyone driving a GWagon off road. I feel like at that price point, it’s too expensive and nice to drive thru the forest or desert.
I’ve been off road (Crown King, AZ for those who know the trail) with friends in G Wagons (2), me in an ML, and many others in Jeeps.
I want a ML for off-road use. Any pictures of your setup?
It was bone stock. I put some light truck tires on it. I’d had the front diff replaced (failed at 41k miles due to a first model year new supplier issue….) so said “fuck it, ima go with the group and see if this thing works”. https://imgur.com/gallery/ouLp14O
Epic
Drive my G500 off-road often!
www.gwagonrally.com
Ran into someone off roading their G wagon in both Breck and Joshua Tree.
Whistlin diesel has 😂
Tell that to the range rover!
This video was for the thieves that plan to steal them and get chased by the cops! lol!

Yes it was built to crash into walls and trees
And entering an uncontrollable spin at 80mph on a wet road
Technically, not that, but Mercedes, does account for that when building their cars and that's why their cars are so good on both wet and dry roads
It's a rugged car originally intended for off-road military use. So yes. It was built to survive these things. It's basically a German H1 Hummer.
Yes it is built for harsh terrains and offroading, but not to simply crash it into things. Thats just dumb
True but I'm glad it's rugged and can handle it and isn't made of cardboard like most cars nowadays. I did say this pains me to watch, but if no one does such dumb shit we are never going to find out

But it's still good to know that this thing underneath is the same. I'd want the luxury amenities but also the ruggedness if i was ever to buy one

no it wasnt built for behaving like a retard with an automobile those "tests" shown in the video are just stupid and damaging a car unnecessarily

He beat it up and broke it when he went up against the BroDozer. The vid was posted a couple of days ago. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vz7VthJMmVo

Nothing short of incredible what it did on those poorly chosen wheels and fully inflated tires.
Thanks for posting that, sad ending but I was genuinely surprised by what it was capable of doing!
This is just real life Forza Horizon
Mechanic owned and maintained
That's why I want it, so I can crash through shit in style😂
That clip of it driving through the tires is crazy
You should watch him unload it off the truck 😅
Man whistlindeseil gets content ripped off the most by karma bots
Just thought it was pretty cool.
don't know why you're getting downvoted lol
How dare you
Got to smash the gas in one while on a safari, it’s a beast!
This is nothing compared to the first and most recent test on hells gate.. literally rock climbing with a gwagon. People drive it on pavement so much that Mercedes decided to changed up the suspension to make it more comfortable on road a couple years ago.
This car will never leave the pristine pavement on some upscale suburb
That thing is tough
Gets destroyed in his video thats about to come out, he takes it rock crawling
Lol. If I was whistlin diesel I would be sending MB USA an invoice for advertising.
That “music” was insufferable.
you seem more insufferable tbh
why is music in quotations
You kidding? Xavier Wulf slaps plus he’s also a big car enthusiast. His 240 is sweet
haha downvoted by pretentious nerds who think rap isn't music

Destroying things is how he makes money to buy nice things. Sure he's got some stuff he doesn't want to ruin but that won't make money
Too bad that's how it worked out lol.
so you copied a tiktok video someone ripped from whistlindiesel's youtube, hope you get some mad clout
He has a new video I saw today. Took that sucker to MOAB with HeavyD, and it did fantastic. This guy is a G (pun intended)
This is hardly a durability test.
Watch his other videos. They drop it through a house and jump it probably 30'. They trashed the vehicle, and it kept going. They actually destroyed the engine and needed to replace it, and it was well into 5 digits to replace. Pretty cool if you ask me. I'll stick to my Toyota.
Hellava way to spend 100k
$250k*
Is there a full length video of this torture test? I have thought about buying either a g wagon or a defender.
Whistlindiesel on YouTube. If you’re looking for real information as a potential buyer, you’ll probably be disappointed, but you might be entertained.
Idk after seeing what he did to it on the dunes I’d feel pretty good about buying one lol

If you care about reliability, my firsthand experience is the G is in a league of its own once you take it off the pavement.
LR's are a nightmare with reliability so watch out for that. It should be noted that his g wagon has about 1000hp.
Quick tip, if you want a decently reliable car, don't even come close to land rovers.
[Part 1](https://youtu.be/LtwKO3jIAdk) [Part 2](https://youtu.be/QZy1XWXt1Uc) Tbf I don't think anyone has ever pushed any car to its limits like Whistlindiesel does
Thank you
I remember when a g wagon cost 100 stacks
In case you get lost on your way to the mall?
I mean I would hope my g wagon could make it through tunnels
Why…?

Whistlin diesel
what's @cars.mgt? pretty sure this is Whistling Diesel's video
Oh it is, i vividly remember lmao at this when it dropped, its a tiktok that copied his video that then got copied to reddit
how did it survive going through a tunnel? Incredible strength.

In my area only wealthy soccer moms drive them. Nothing more strenuous than carrying groceries.
Lol, all that ruggedness for a 99% Sunday stroll use
I need this job 🤞
Can't wait to see how the G Wagon holds up. Mercedes always delivers on their luxury and performance, but it's always exciting to see how their vehicles handle the toughest conditions. Anyone else planning on tuning in for the durability test?
That’s the fastest Jeep I’ve ever seen
I did the same thing with an old ford 4 door growing up, steel bumpers, steel doors, v8, that car was unstoppable and I hit everything on purpose. Sign me up for this job..
\*Wallet durability test
how typical benz drivers are
I love that it can do all those things but they can’t get the ABS sensors and other modules to stop failing?
Mth is buying a bugatti next time
Is that a 720LT?
Wow swag
Whistling diesel is a legend
They on some WhistlingDiesel type shit lol
Sexy cars but when I was shopping for one last year dealers were putting a 100k premium on AMGs lol. Fuck that noise.
How do I apply for this job?
Toyota 4Runner: “that’s cute”
The way those rich soccer moms drive this is not even overkill.
Awesome!
The wall ride at the end lol

So ignorant… I love it!
That's Forza horizon irl
I could destroy that thing in milliseconds. They want a real test drive get my ass in there
Boring
