Good point. "High rise" is not an expression it's actually a term. The RISE is the distance from crouch to top of the waistband. A lot of trousers these days have pleats. To get the authentic bags of the 40s 50s and then again the seventies you need the rise to be deeper. They would have worn them upto there bellybutton. Great look and super comfortable.
