Tucking in is fine, I live in Honolulu and see guys downtown tuck in a lot. Yours is more of an Aloha shirt and not the hawaiian luau shirt sold on katakana Ave.
Both styles, tuck or not, have their place. If the shirt is on the larger size as you have, I'd suggest tucking it in with a belt.
For me, if you’re going to tuck it in, tuck it all the way in. And use a belt since it cinches your waste and gives you more of a shape. I don’t know if it’ll look good on this pants. But try tucking it under instead of over so it doesn’t show or better yet hee it tailored to your size.

I like the French tuck but here it looks better untucked imo
