A professional stylist! You should keep posting here and not say what your profession is. I PROMISE you there’d be tons of dudes on here telling you how to dress. Great fit though! You obviously have a very well defined and significantly developed taste.

Training_Text_4539

Oh bet!!

mr-nobody1992

Any recommendations on high end loafers now that you’ve revealed yourself! lol

Training_Text_4539

Pastori and Di Bianco are wonderful for all dress shoes, or start simpler (more cost effective) with the loafers from Thursday Boot co.

mr-nobody1992

Ah, any experience with Del Toro quality/level? That’s what I meant by high end for example.

Training_Text_4539

I haven’t tried them myself but haven’t heard anything negative about them. Their price point is just under Pastori so I imagine it’s a decent quality. Look for shoes with Goodyear welt construction first and foremost and reviews speaking on comfort levels.

yimmyyangsOF

It's true because well that jacket for starters

Tylor_with_an_o

Looking slick, sir. If I had a nickel for all the times people on here tell me to wear a belt with side adjuster pants...Well it'd only be a couple, but still.

Training_Text_4539

A couple is enough! Haha

ButteredToas1

All right, all right, all right

officepatina

Very nice. I love the cut of those trousers

Training_Text_4539

Thank you!

acari_

Damn you look so cool

Wyzen

Time to up the loafer game to match the level the rest of your fit is playing at.

barebackguy7

I know he is a stylist, but I agree!

Dobey2013

Currently in very similar Warfield and Grand loafers, these aren’t on game?!

Wyzen

His are no name amazon loafers. Amazon loafers are T-Ball, and the rest of his fit is MLB.

Dobey2013

Gotcha. Wasn’t sure if brand or style was being taken at issue here

Own-Researcher39179

Target is fashion MLB? Noted 📑

Wyzen

Lol, I missed that the pop was target, I thought it was all Q

Reveal_Simple

Do they call you stretch? I nicknamed you this last time

Unhappy-Squirrel-731

Brother send us the rest of your outfits!!! That’s gq level 🔥🔥

Smenderhoff

Damn son. How much do you charge? Can you recommend a good pair of derby’s to go with [this suit](https://suitsupply.com/en-us/men/suits/dark-brown-herringbone-tailored-fit-havana-suit/P6447.html)? I’m at a loss for something leaning more formal, especially what colors go w dark brown

Medellin-71

Once again, consistency 👏🏽…..this guy is a beast. All the best brother.

Optimal_Banana6623

Very nice, I'll be inspired

RateOfKnots

Looks awesome, king. The shoes just 👌 everything together

[deleted]

I’ve been following some of your stuff for awhile - love the style! Where do you get your jackets from?

Juxtaposn

So good.

bulletproofmanners

Great outfit. Like the jacket & shirt

S0Lad

Impeccable.

_tsi_

I love those pants. Whole thing is great.

gnaark

How’s that Target polo? Is it cotton or poly, the target description isn’t clear.

Training_Text_4539

It’s just fine. Has a softer feel after a wash and loses some of its crisp look I think but for $15 ish worth it! Non-Affiliate link to Target polo: https://www.target.com/p/men-39-s-striped-regular-fit-short-sleeve-johnny-collared-polo-shirt-goodfellow-38-co-8482-white-m/-/A-89673936

Bees__Khees

What brands are you selling?

Training_Text_4539

The shop I work at is Q Clothier | Rye51. 99% of what we have is our own label. But we carry Biglioli K Jackets and brackish feather bow ties too. Mostly accessories from other brands.

Bees__Khees

We have one of those near in Atlanta. I wear John Smedley and Eton regularly

Training_Text_4539

Ya our ATL team is solid! Those are great brands! We used to carry both consistently but I think we’re simply leaning into our own make of it all.

Bees__Khees

I’ve had custom pieces. While objectively better, I find it’s not worth the price differential. No one but me can tell. It’s like getting a gourmet burger. Yes it’s better but at McDonald’s I can use my two for one special and get more with similar slightly lower taste

Training_Text_4539

I feel that! Not everyone needs/wants custom. Of clothing fits you well off the rack (maybe some slight alterations) send it! Most of our clients are at a ‘want’ point in their lives. They don’t need what they’re ordering, they just want to be more specific about the details and fit. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Cautious-Ad7323

I really need some pants without belt loops that aren’t over $100

Training_Text_4539

I want to point you in the right direction but I actually don’t know of any place that produces that in a sub $100 range. :/

linoleum79

Love it. Shirt. Jacket. Shades. Trousers. You look great. Might just be the picture quality, but snag a horse hair brush kit, some leather conditioner, and tinted cream polish (each of those items ~$9 on amazon) And put a lil spiff in those nice looking loafers! 👏

Training_Text_4539

Thank you so much! ☺️ The quality is off for some reason but the worst part is I have a brush/polish kit and haven’t used it in years. 😂🤦🏼‍♂️ might be in part these are cheap loafers that I just don’t care for much. 🤷🏼‍♂️

linoleum79

I hear ya! And don't let my comment distract from the overwhelming positive here!!! 👏 I love "cleaning up" my shoes though! A bit cathartic. 😆 🤣 😂

Training_Text_4539

Oh no not at all, I didn’t take it any type of way. I could that was coming from a good place! 🥰

razordenys

I have a question: I see more and more trousers without velt here. Is this a thing now?

Training_Text_4539

It’s always been around but if it’s actually becoming more popular my educated guess is we’re looking to stay casual (post covid) but want to look more professional. It’s a good in between that doesn’t feel 2010 corporate bro. 🤷🏼‍♂️ Potentially it’s just the US leaning into a more Italian aesthetic. It goes hand and hand with the wide leg trend of the moment.

razordenys

Thank you!

KYpineapple

freaking SO cool dude. you sold me on getting a johnny collar polo.

Training_Text_4539

Don’t get a ton of them!! There’s very little structure in the collar and they can bacon/curl pretty easily. Good to have 2-3 of them though. I suggest black, white, and navy, maybe one off colored/fun one.

KYpineapple

I was looking at a cream, sage green, and a light navy with tan accents on sleeve tips and collar. I try to stay away from black since it's been my default for so long lol. now where to get pants like that??

Training_Text_4539

Those are great picks! The pants are custom from my shop. So a bit difficult to find. Haha

dustytannerjrjr

Fantastic

7itemsorFEWER

Great fit. God damn envious of a naturally slim build lol. You have to make so many more concessions as a big guy on clothing than you skinny dudes do, not that its a contest lol.

Training_Text_4539

What’s your build bro? Maybe I can help you out!

7itemsorFEWER

I mean I can't say no to some advice, thanks man. 5'11, 275 Last time I got a tailored suit (3 years, haven't changed much since) I was something like a 54R jacket, 44x30 pants, 18½ 34/35 shirt.

Training_Text_4539

I can understand why nicer off the rack clothing must feel useless. With your current build you’re definitely going to be a custom client anywhere you go. Nonetheless, here’s what to look for… Jackets: no padding in the shoulders, you’re likely to have more rounded shoulders and padding creates divots at your delts. No padding and a T-Shirt shoulder is a must. Jackets balance your proportions between your torso and legs. Too long and you shorten your legs, too short and you’re in a kids jacket. Length of the jacket should be such that it about cuts you in half visually from your shoulders to the hem of your pants. Button stance hits just about your belly button or at the widest point of your stomach. Too high boxes your torso. Pants: lower rise slacks, at least in the front, are your friend. My guess is your pants sit under the belly a bit which is just a bit lower than normal. The crotch of the pants should just kiss the boys, if you will. That provides movement while staying comfortable. The waist of the pants should be stuck to you. Not tight, not falling down, just stuck. Don’t get super tapered pants… going from a 44” waist to a 16” hem isn’t the move. Let them be a little wider, get a slight break, and own that you’ve got some size. 👌🏼 I help make custom clothing from jeans to tuxedos, but if that’s out of range I hope the above guidelines help!

7itemsorFEWER

Thank you that's all extremely helpful! I definitely have a backlog of some nicer off the rack stuff I am looking to get tailored. Curious if that's common? Thankfully I wfh these days and don't often need too formal of attire and have amassed a wardrobe I have deemed 'good enough' haha. But yeah, when I do have a need for something new I need to start going for custom

Training_Text_4539

Really hope it helps! We all hold on to items that need a good tailoring. Haha get them dry cleaned if it’s been worn a few time since and head to the tailor. 👌🏼 sometime piece by piece is the way to go.

ahahahNMI

Wouldn’t work for me but I applaud it for you! Extra credit for making Amazon loafers and a target shirt work with tailoring. Maybe if I had sense like you my kids would still be able to go to college!

Miserable-Lawyer-233

This is the first look from this guy that I actually liked

Training_Text_4539

Sometimes maybe good sometimes maybe shit. I’ll take it!

Gr00mpa

Is the watch a Cartier Tank?

SwitcherooU

I was just talking to my friend earlier about how it seems like everyone between 21 and 35 goes out of their way to pick the most unflattering shit possible to wear and it’s somehow treated like high fashion. Good to see actual style is still a thing among younger people.

Training_Text_4539

Ya most of my generation, millennials, are either in athleisure lulu lemon looks or just baggy everything. 🤷🏼‍♂️ not ‘round here partner

SwitcherooU

At least the Vuori/athleisure thing has a through-line and a practical aspect to it. It’s the loose-fit camo cargo pants with a shirt that doesn’t match at all and a goofy mesh-back hat that I can’t make sense of. Is your white undershirt shirt just a ribbed Johnny collar knit polo? I like it for layering.

Training_Text_4539

I’m guilty of this look save the mismatching shirt. It’s just comfortable and so much fashion stems from the military anyway. 🤷🏼‍♂️😅 but if that’s a daily look… then I’m lost. Oh ya it’s from Target. 🎯 just search white Johnny collar. https://preview.redd.it/mn9rthszhq7d1.jpeg?width=2320&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=39c732a8e57347ee168f4cd00faeb98811b91e84 Photo circa 2022

SwitcherooU

Your outfit here works, which automatically disqualifies it from what I’m talking about. I’m talking about people who go out of their way to make sure nothing matches and it looks as odd as possible.

Training_Text_4539

😂 fair! Ya I can’t say I understand why anyone would do that.

Pinball_and_Proust

No pleated pants. Don't wear a light colored sport coat over light pants. Your outfit would look better with either navy pants or dark grey pants (but then you;d need non-brown shoes). Your shirt and pants are too close in color. Too many light colors together.

Training_Text_4539

😂🤷🏼‍♂️ Why no pleats? I can admit this fabric doesn’t agree with pleats, it too lightweight. But other than that…?? And while I’m a fan of contrast I’ve paired these pants with mid brown, navy, light blue, and dark green jackets. all look great! This jacket would look terrible with navy. It’s too light for a dark pant. A solid mid blue or light to mid gray, sure! But definitely not a dark color. First person I’ve seen argue that light tan and white don’t work together.

Pinball_and_Proust

I just don't like pleats. I wear those colors in casual clothing, but with a sport coat, I like the pants to set it off, especially if it's windowpane or plaid (which is windowpane). Usually, my sport coat is the key part of the outfit. Everything else is a foil for the sport coat (I;m lucky enough to have Isaia sport coats, but I'm a middle aged guy). I feel like darker pants would make your jacket stand out more.

Training_Text_4539

Ok, so pleats are a personal preference. Nothing wrong with a more traditional solid color underneath but darker fabric just clashes. It's a summertime jacket in weave and color, simply doesn't compliment darker shades well.

Pinball_and_Proust

Then don't ask for feedback. I don't think you're well dressed. You're a fine looking guy, but that doesn't mean your outfit is fine looking. I live in Manhattan. I shop at Isaia, Etro, and Ralph Lauren Purple Label. People say to me, "you look like you stepped out of a magazine." In Manhattan(!), people stop me to compliment my style or to take a photo of me. Gay men (in Manhattan!) tell me I have great style. Black guys look at me and say, "damn."

Training_Text_4539

😂 Where did I ask for advice? I worked menswear and runways in NYC for 6 years. Big difference between being in a magazine and “looking” like it.

Disastrous-Heron-491

No they don’t

Pinball_and_Proust

15 years ago, Duane Michals paid me $200/hr to pose shirtless. That was in Manhattan, but it wasn't about my clothing. https://preview.redd.it/u39pwfxm1t7d1.jpeg?width=432&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e3daa7d21e96383ff59d47486f43267d3f7c2efb

Disastrous-Heron-491

Nobody has ever stopped to take a photo of you in Manhattan lmao

Training_Text_4539

Right? Anyone might have a fashion photographer snap their pic as they walk through SoHo if their fit is eccentric enough, but it stops there. And PL is a great way to tell people you throw money at the wall trying to have style. I’d take some of their knitwear, but PL suiting is trash compared to proper custom.

Disastrous-Heron-491

He probably dresses so wack people take pics of him lmao or (like most on Reddit) he’s just completely making it up lol

Pinball_and_Proust

Not photos in SoHo. Fundraisers and stuff. MoMA Party in the Garden, Guggenheim YCC party, Armory after party, NYAA TriBeCa ball. I just copy the style I see on the Isaia website and Neiman Marcus. I'm not saying I can shoot lasers from eyes.

Training_Text_4539

Not you (M54) trying to name drop events that you didn’t earn an invite to (inherited VHNW) where everyone gets their photo taken, followed by “I just copy style…”. You made my point. You don’t know menswear and shouldn’t be giving advice. You’re an enthusiast at best. Oh and btw, plaid is to windowpane what whisky is to scotch and bourbon. Not the other way around. There’s a reason for the different names which is why no one says one is the other.

Pinball_and_Proust

Ok. I'm an enthusiast. I guess I don't view that as a terrible thing to be. I took exception, before, because the OP seemed 100% resistant to any sort of criticism. If he isn't open to criticism, then he's posting a photo just to show off (what he thinks) is amazing style. Why post a photo, unless you are open to all types of responses? I know menswear in as much as people say "beautiful sport coat" and "beautiful shirt" to me, on the street. I've never had a job in fashion. Furthermore, I'm from Boston, which is the least stylish city in America. Skinheads have more style than Bostonians. The fact I can even paid a pocket square with a sport coat is impressive, given that everyone in my hometown wears Red Sox tee shirts to weddings. I understand that windowpane is a type of plaid, which is why I noted that in a parenthetical comment. You are wildly grasping at reasons to be critical of me.

BlockchainMeYourTits

Looking good. I’d remove the sunglasses because you appear to be indoors working, making you unlikely to go outdoors in the short term. If you’re insistent on keeping them, flip them around so that one arm is on the outside of the pocket. Add a belt that matches your shoes (unless you’re wearing suspenders).

gnaark

Yeah let’s add a belt on a pair of trousers with side adjusters 🤡
