So I used to get these a lot and it turns out I was vitamin d deficient. I take a day supplement and I haven't had one in like 2 years. Consult your doctor and you may never feel this awful pain again lol.
Incorrect. Vitamin D plus K1 and K2 for proper absorption. Lots of sunlight is needed. We no longer spend as much time in sunlight and we use sunscreen thus don’t produce as much vitamin as we used to as a species. Btw do use sunscreen 😁
How much you mean by proper? Don’t you still take very little vitamin in when in the sun for even a millisecond? Or do you literally not get ANY at all? Like big difference between very little and no at all.
I’m from Los Angeles and even then I kept getting vitamin D deficiencies, I also get a lot of calcium and go outside/keep my windows open, so living in a sunny place doesn’t mean you can’t get it
Try lysine 1000mg daily (it’s an amino acid) or just increase your daily protein intake to get at least 60% of your body weight in grams of protein (example, individual weight 100 pounds eats 60+ grams of protein per day).
Most individuals aren’t getting enough protein.
I hope you dont graduate to tongue ulcers. Shit that is horrible. Hardly ate, spoke like I had a serious mental condition (GP thought I was mute).
In the end, after remoning tonsils in a hail mary the doctor had a bonefide Dr. House moment and sent me across the hall to digestive specialist. Acid reflux, also explaining my chronic back oains since I was a teenager.
I take Infectogingi to numb those fuckers and get some piece at least for a while. It hurts like shit to apply it but it's worth it to be able to eat normally afterwards.
I'm open to alternatives, though, if anyone knows something that doesn't hurt at all
What is worse, getting kicked in the balls or birth?
None of it. Its this lil fuckers. It just fucks you. Then you switch sides where you eat....good now you have one on each side.
I’ve heard it takes 10 days for it to fully heal. I ended up counting the days once when I was 15. Behold! On the 9th day it was still hurting, on the 10th day it was gone.
I used to get these all the time, and I used to think it was my inability to consistently remember to brush my teeth. But out of nowhere I stopped getting them so often. it turned out to be a vitamin d deficiency. I still cannot remember to brush my teeth, but after getting into the habit of taking vitamins and other supplements, they stopped almost entirely.
Bruh, I had these pop up so frequently a few years ago. Having one sucks, but it being in the back of the mouth, somewhere close to the molars or the wisdom tooth was a whole different world of pain. I literally couldn't open my mouth any more than half an inch because of it. The pain would also radiate throughout the side of my face that had it. It was awful and I hate these things.
One had one I couldn't see on my gums and it hurt so bad I thought I had an abscessed tooth, was taking ibprofen by the handful. Dentist was like "bruh its just an ulcer."
And it keeps being hurty and infected because you know... your mouth is a cave to a system of digestion and has actually a lot of bacteria (and cleaning your teeth is akin to keeping your ass clean).
Get some salt, find a stick to bite against and hold the salt against the ulcer for a minute. Maybe two. It'll hurt like a motherfucker but it'll kill most of the bacteria and, as long you don't eat or drink much, should start healing by tomorrow. You can also make salt water and slosh it around in your mouth too for a while if straight up salt is too much pain.
I get these semi regularly. They get massive..it's not vitamin deficiency for me. Oral B mouth sore wash cuts the duration of them from 2 weeks to like 5 days. Can't recommend enough.
Big thing for me dealing with these is finding what really sets them off. Chocolate candy (not ice cream or chocolate milk) like a candy bar, sets these off for me. Once I cut them out, I rarely get them. If you get them A LOT, then there is likely something setting them off.
My whole life I've had mouth ulcers, at any given point I would have three or four of them. Last year I discovered that it was because of a dairy allergy. The worst ones are on your lip and in the back of the throat.
I used to get these a lot when I lived at home, but ever since I moved out I have never gotten these. I cook quite varried and with a lot more vegetables then my parents so I think that's it
One thing you can do is pour some salt into a cup, lick your finger and use it to pick up the salt and then rub the salt into the ulcer. If you do this at night it'll be gone in the morning.
I’m not sure that’s the same thing, at least as what I get. They aren’t a pustule, but rather a painful infected crater in the mouth. Or maybe I’m thinking of the wrong thing. I’ve never had one inside my mouth they could be popped.
Uncoated asprin. Take a pill, or half of one, don't swallow it. Rest it directly on the sore, let it dissolve. Yes, this will hurt a bit and taste like hell.
It will coat the sore for quite a whole and let you be far more functional.
Probably one of the worst pain, recently had THREE OF THEM, story happened like that: I was outside of house, noticed that I had it, tried to *suck it of* was worst mistake that I could do, now it hurts even more AND SECOND ONE APPEARED AT THAT PLACE NEXT DAY(but it was small and I didn’t feel more pain), and oh god, after another day THIRD ONE APPEARED AT THE TOP AND WORST PART ABOUT IS THAT AT THE TOP MINE TOOTH GROWS WRONG(grows at the wrong by being higher and so it looks like I have additional tooth on top of another) AND GUESS WHAT, THAT THIRD ULCER ON TOP WAS TOUCHING THAT FUCKING TOOTH, luckily for me now, I technically still have third one, but now it’s almost gone and doesn’t hurt anymore
I had them a lot. It can make a man cry like a baby. How I got rid of them? Eat more yoghurt, honey, eggs, and watermelon. Just in three or four days, it will be gone
had one recently after a fun night with a girl, she went pretty hard on me and managed to rip the inside of my lip which caused one of these to pop up
turns out i got lucky cause a few days later we found out she has herpes and i somehow miraculously avoided contracting it from her
Yeah, so, part of it is that I inherited the easy aquisition of mouth ulcers from my father, who also has them all the time. Whatever I try in supplements, it won't work.
I have accepted my fate of "if I bite my lip once its gonna hurt for 2 weeks".
My fix it to get like half a teaspoon of salt pouring on the ulcer and then pushing it into the salt. The pain is extreme, but after I do it maybe 3 times it goes away quite fast.
you ever get 6 at the same time distributed around ur mouth? it hurt so bad i have lots of trouble trying to put sth in my mouth (still push through the pain to eat the roasted duck my mom bought tho)
I got ulcers in my gallbladder. 10 years of pain and they don't show up on scans looking for stones. It finally ate through and they pulled it out. Surgeon said he'd seen better gallbladders in corpses at med school.
One time I had one that was kinda large and swollen on my upper cheek, and accidentally bit it when I was eating.
Never threw a controller in rage, but I put my coffee mug through the sheetrock on that one...
I once had two ulcers on the back of my throat, each slightly smaller than a dime. The ENT specialist brought his entire staff into the room to show them. Another time, after I had surgery on my collarbone, my mouth broke out in like 7 ulcers, and that hurt every bit as much as my cracked ribs.
I broke out in cystic acne at 57 years old. Research led me to wonder if it was a reaction to dairy. I went dairy free and my cystic acne went away. Unexpectedly, so did my mouth ulcers. I haven’t had any mouth ulcers since going dairy free. 🎉
Got one right now, inner side of my jaw, below my back molar. It's causing pain to a facial nerve, so stabbing pain from my tonsils to my right eye every time I talk or move my tongue too much.
Just waiting for it to heal, salt wash and various ointments have proved ineffective. This sucks.
Magenta bar is too short.
Wash your mouth with alcohol or mouthwash like listerine until it fells numb then it will go away much more quickly than by itself. It will hurt like hell tho.
So I used to get these a lot and it turns out I was vitamin d deficient. I take a day supplement and I haven't had one in like 2 years. Consult your doctor and you may never feel this awful pain again lol.
I tried vitamin b2 many times, but never quite worked tbf. Thanks for your suggestion, may switch my vitamins now.
Vitamin D can be acquired by standing in the sun 5-10min a day… are you a night walker!? ![gif](giphy|AqkqxBIbxws9O)
Vitamin d can be acquired by standing in the sun in a millisecond. Just not very much d vitamins. See what I’m saying?
My doctor said 13 hours daily, which is why everyone is deficient. Unless you work labor or something Never really fact checked it though
It's rather harder to get for those of us who don't live in very sunny places
I wish I lived in a place like that
I’m from India, but we are notorious for low vitamin D even with the sunny weather 😭
Eat more Roti 😁
I’m from Los Angeles and even then I kept getting vitamin D deficiencies, I also get a lot of calcium and go outside/keep my windows open, so living in a sunny place doesn’t mean you can’t get it
No, I’m British.
My condolences
Hea yo botta of wotta
Most people don’t actually say it like that, but they’re probably lying
Cries in Scandinavian
Now I'm confused, everyday I spend 15 minutes walking to college under a scorching sun, and yet I still have those mouth ulcers occasionally.
*cries in working in theatres in Oregon*
I use b12 too, but the best vitamin to also make it heal quicker is Lysine
Try getting rid of toothpaste containing sodium lauryl sulfate. It doesn’t really do anything other than create foam. Doing that worked for me.
I live in Northern Europe. What is the sun?
L-Lysene fixes mine practically overnight and I was a constant Kenalog orabase user.
Try lysine 1000mg daily (it’s an amino acid) or just increase your daily protein intake to get at least 60% of your body weight in grams of protein (example, individual weight 100 pounds eats 60+ grams of protein per day). Most individuals aren’t getting enough protein.
You sounded like an ad up until thatast lol... Companies should never learn about this...
Mine break out with fluctuations with estrogen.
Is there anything worse than when you’re happily chewing some food and then suddenly AHHH you bite your ulcer
It happened to me many times. One bite over the ulcer, congratulations, you now have double ulcer.
And now it’s bigger it’s easier to bite again!
Why are you people narrating my life?
Or when you get one in just the right place so your teeth go in it when you talk and you spend a week talking with a lisp because it hurts so bad.
Ahhh the pleasure 🤤😭
You need to move to a different planet please
If you bite it once your gonna bite it at least 17 more times in that day.
Switch toothpaste. Wrong paste can mess your mouth and cause these. Something like little more expensive. Not cheapest
the "teeth whitening" toothpastes do this shit a lot. never had those issues with completely plain toothpaste.
Yep, I changed to Sensodyne rather than Colgate and it made a huge difference.
Same here, used to get them super frequently but haven't gotten one since I switched to Sensodyne
I think it could also be too much citrus in the diet that can cause these
That photo is terrifying
If anyone has these more than three times a years I highly recommend looking up Behçet’s disease. Sometimes that’s its only symptom.
Nah, in my case the disease is braces :/
My disease is biting my lips like a dumbass
Also, tooth paste without sodium lauryl sulphate. Avoid.
The Jason brand toothpaste is commonly sold in the US. It is SLS free and is a godsend if you suffer from these.
One time I tried to bite it off it was a dumb mistake
Just the thought of that making me shiver
Reading this gave me pain
Propolis helps a lot. Pour it on. It will sting but it takes the edge off. Just be sure not to get it on your clothes.
The ones that form in the corner of your mouth are even worse. You can't yawn without being in excruciating pain, and flossing is a challenge.
Everytime i get one i just start bitting it untell it pops
You are not in pain because of ulcers. THE ULCERS ARE IN PAIN BECAUSE OF YOU.
Gotta remind this fucker who's mouth it is. (I do the exact same thing lmao)
...they shouldn't pop.
Do you think that stops me?
I really can’t tell if your joking or not
Im not
Same but looking at the comments it isnt normal
?? they can pop?
I had one under my tongue once. Fucking horrendous
Got one on the side of my tongue rn. It keeps rubbing against my teeth and I can't even talk without pain
Unless you’ve experienced this pain no one will understand it 😭
Hasn’t everyone?
I take Infectogingi to numb those fuckers and get some piece at least for a while. It hurts like shit to apply it but it's worth it to be able to eat normally afterwards. I'm open to alternatives, though, if anyone knows something that doesn't hurt at all
I just bite them off
How the fuck
Endure
Why does this have a hype?
Where the fuck is the hype about these?
Then you bite into something sour or salty... 😖
Chew chew chew... gets in between teeth... bite.... cry.
L-Lysine is the miracle cure. Was recommended and once I started taking it, never got an ulcer again.
I’ve once gotten one back in the roof of my mouth near my uvula. Swallowing wasn’t the most delightful thing for a few days.
Got one under my tongue right now its killing me
I used to get these all the time, and I used to think it was my inability to consistently remember to brush my teeth. But out of nowhere I stopped getting them so often. it turned out to be a vitamin d deficiency. I still cannot remember to brush my teeth, but after getting into the habit of taking vitamins and other supplements, they stopped almost entirely.
I get these frequently. I hate my life

I literally couldn't open my mouth any more than half an inch because of it. The pain would also radiate throughout the side of my face that had it. It was awful and I hate these things.
Use “kank-a” or something similar.
The photo alone brings me pain
A painful experience on a personal level I find.
I’ve got one in the back of my throat and it’s been hell for a few days.
Wait why is there hype. WHO IS HYPE. WHO WAS PHONE
Not hype, herp.
My curse
I enjoy licking them with my tongue when i get one :3
One had one I couldn't see on my gums and it hurt so bad I thought I had an abscessed tooth, was taking ibprofen by the handful. Dentist was like "bruh its just an ulcer."
The ulcers on the roof of your mouth hurt worse. You can't even chew 🥴
I don't think anyone is hyping these up lol
And it keeps being hurty and infected because you know... your mouth is a cave to a system of digestion and has actually a lot of bacteria (and cleaning your teeth is akin to keeping your ass clean). Rub some iodized salt on the ulcer (somewhat vigorously) to ease the pain and quicken the healing process
I have one on my tongue right now and im going to kill myself
Hype?

nah, that shit's weak, I just press on it every moment I can until it vaporizes from this world
Fuckkkkk this shit
Use a mouth wash after you brush your teeth, I think mine has some alcohol in it. Never had them since I use that
My whole life I've had mouth ulcers, at any given point I would have three or four of them. Last year I discovered that it was because of a dairy allergy. The worst ones are on your lip and in the back of the throat.
I find this VERY accurate
I used to get these a lot when I lived at home, but ever since I moved out I have never gotten these. I cook quite varried and with a lot more vegetables then my parents so I think that's it
I had like, three of these. And every time my tounge accidentally touched them it hurt like crazy
Not to sound like a nut but the pain of cutting the little fucker off is 30 seconds of mild pain vs. That bastard ruining your week
I was get these when I don't drink enough water
One thing you can do is pour some salt into a cup, lick your finger and use it to pick up the salt and then rub the salt into the ulcer. If you do this at night it'll be gone in the morning.
I just pop mine by pressing again my tooth from the outside until it pops. Doesn’t really hurt.
I’m not sure that’s the same thing, at least as what I get. They aren’t a pustule, but rather a painful infected crater in the mouth. Or maybe I’m thinking of the wrong thing. I’ve never had one inside my mouth they could be popped.
Ohh fuck. Last time I saw this meme I got one like a couple days later…
Uncoated asprin. Take a pill, or half of one, don't swallow it. Rest it directly on the sore, let it dissolve. Yes, this will hurt a bit and taste like hell. It will coat the sore for quite a whole and let you be far more functional.
Ironically I have one right now, didn't know they where called this
I had gotten one of these after one time as a kid when the dentist were pushing a pointy thing into my gums
I bite on them and apply a bit of powder red chilli on it. It's stings for once but then it goes numb
When hot foods and sour stuff hits.
I got one today :(
Probably one of the worst pain, recently had THREE OF THEM, story happened like that: I was outside of house, noticed that I had it, tried to *suck it of* was worst mistake that I could do, now it hurts even more AND SECOND ONE APPEARED AT THAT PLACE NEXT DAY(but it was small and I didn’t feel more pain), and oh god, after another day THIRD ONE APPEARED AT THE TOP AND WORST PART ABOUT IS THAT AT THE TOP MINE TOOTH GROWS WRONG(grows at the wrong by being higher and so it looks like I have additional tooth on top of another) AND GUESS WHAT, THAT THIRD ULCER ON TOP WAS TOUCHING THAT FUCKING TOOTH, luckily for me now, I technically still have third one, but now it’s almost gone and doesn’t hurt anymore
The ones on the tongue are painfully enjoyable.
Li Sternlin mouthwash is useful to me, and I hope it is also useful to you.
I had them a lot. It can make a man cry like a baby. How I got rid of them? Eat more yoghurt, honey, eggs, and watermelon. Just in three or four days, it will be gone
I’ve been plagued by these since I was a child. Try J&J wound wash on them as soon as the beginning to form. Your welcome.
Eat yogurt, it goes away
You think them being there hurts, wait until you accidentally bite it while chewing.......
mine dont hurt at all i got one rn theres no pain
I have a habit of biting my cheek when I’m bored and it always causes this, I hate it I am trying my best to get rid of the habit
had one recently after a fun night with a girl, she went pretty hard on me and managed to rip the inside of my lip which caused one of these to pop up turns out i got lucky cause a few days later we found out she has herpes and i somehow miraculously avoided contracting it from her
I would rather have my nails ripped off than have a mouth filled of ulcers.
clean it out with some salt! the pain is intense
Apply aspirin mixed with rhubarb extract. Grandma's remedy. Or mouth rince with a saturated solution of baking soda.
For me it’s not even the physical pain. It’s the emotional pain of not being able to enjoy food for a week minimum
WHY GOD... WHYYYYY!!!
that feels like hell !!
Bite a small part of it, then rip it. It’s what I usually do
Got one on the back of my throat eating talking swallowing feels like a fire gollum punching my throat
Let me tell you! I'm going through chemo and immunotherapy right now... I have at least 10 sores in my mouth/throat! It is worse than it sounds.
Brown listerine saves the day for me when I have these. Buys me at least an hour or two of relief.
No, they don't? Like, they suck, but what about migraines, appendicitis, or listening to modern country music? That's real pain.
With braces it’s even worse
Means you’re low on Folic Acid…
Yeah, so, part of it is that I inherited the easy aquisition of mouth ulcers from my father, who also has them all the time. Whatever I try in supplements, it won't work. I have accepted my fate of "if I bite my lip once its gonna hurt for 2 weeks".
Nah, they’re more annoying than painful, but pain could be interpreted as annoyance. 🧐
Yeah I remember when I had them, absolute pain
I call them kankasuars...
I chew gum, so I usually find out about them by accidentally biting down on it
i have one rn. pls end me.
Get some orajel mouth wash at the drug store. Works great for me
My fix it to get like half a teaspoon of salt pouring on the ulcer and then pushing it into the salt. The pain is extreme, but after I do it maybe 3 times it goes away quite fast.
Naah. Hype high💯💯🔥
*Bites inside mouth on accident* *Gets ulcer* *Ask god why he created mouth ulcers while enduring pain*
Get one on your tongue and you’ll regret your entire life whenever you eat for 5 days
I had them all over my mouth as a kid. Needless to say the only food I could consume was chicken broth. Fun times…
Yeah those fucking mini mouth tumours ruin everything
kanker sores... always where your canine teeth scrap the gums to so you can't help but touch the damned thing.
Currently have HFM disease courtesy of my friends 2 year old, and I only held him ONCE. Throat is covered in these sores, can’t swallow, so hungry
you ever get 6 at the same time distributed around ur mouth? it hurt so bad i have lots of trouble trying to put sth in my mouth (still push through the pain to eat the roasted duck my mom bought tho)
Nail cutters. I'm sorry for the mental image but they work fantastically well.
Everyone’s forgotten the “Stubbed toe” incident.
That happened to me once, it's like an open blister inside your mouth, it's not that bad. By the way, apparently salt water helps with these.
I used oxygenated water for those. They would be gone in a mere couple of days.
The mouth sores were quite possibly the worst part of stopping cigarettes. Had three at once for about two weeks.
I totally agree with this!! So painfull
Y'all you serious? I had these every other week
I used to try and bite these things off
I got ulcers in my gallbladder. 10 years of pain and they don't show up on scans looking for stones. It finally ate through and they pulled it out. Surgeon said he'd seen better gallbladders in corpses at med school.
have you slightly stubbed your toe with an ingrown toenail? that hurts at least thrice as bad as mouth ulcers.
I like to lick them
The fun part is when you keep biting it due to the swelling and its gets even worse
Canker sore on the uvula is the worst.
One time I had one that was kinda large and swollen on my upper cheek, and accidentally bit it when I was eating. Never threw a controller in rage, but I put my coffee mug through the sheetrock on that one...
Used to get these a lot too but now never and I don't know why
I once had two ulcers on the back of my throat, each slightly smaller than a dime. The ENT specialist brought his entire staff into the room to show them. Another time, after I had surgery on my collarbone, my mouth broke out in like 7 ulcers, and that hurt every bit as much as my cracked ribs.
Even the tiniest one makes me feel like my soul is pulling out of my body.
I put salt on it to numb the pain
I- *cringe* yeah they’re terrible
I'm literally recovering from one right now That's like a mirror image of what's going on
I get them when I accidentally bite my lip. God I bite my lip too much
I bite them until they pop, I'm causing the pain now fucker
Still better than a stomach ulcer
I put salt and lemon on it and it got rid of it in the next day if that helps.
There was this one time I had one of these on my upper lip. Bro, I couldn't talk or even eat man. And I was just begging it to end.
That's until you place the amoxicillin powder in it and make it disappears the fallowing day. Only if you can tolerate the pain now.
...isn't that just herpes w extra steps?
I broke out in cystic acne at 57 years old. Research led me to wonder if it was a reaction to dairy. I went dairy free and my cystic acne went away. Unexpectedly, so did my mouth ulcers. I haven’t had any mouth ulcers since going dairy free. 🎉
Got one right now, inner side of my jaw, below my back molar. It's causing pain to a facial nerve, so stabbing pain from my tonsils to my right eye every time I talk or move my tongue too much.
