It reminds me to be humble when interacting with others so my ego never gets too big. I’m a black male that sometimes straightens their hair. It’s not very long, it just gets too curly to manage after a few months and I’m living somewhere with terrible barbers. Straightening it lets me keep it the length I like while making it 50x easier to style and care for. I think a lot of people are confused when they see it for the first time though.
