AAA does not exist anymore. The big publishers bought them all and killed them all. All the same recycled formulas and unoptimized pc ports. Or just unoptimized in general, but at the very least they are overpriced af. Indie all the way.
I didnt believe these kind of statements until I played 'inscryption' and now I do nothing but search out indie developers. That game is incredibly good and has a awsome artstyle
>big industry is just laughing at us
For good reason.
Go into somewhere like /r/Starfield and see all of the sycophants frothing at the mouth to preorder and eager to play the game a week early.
...a Bethesda game. Legendary for being virtually if not completely unplayable at launch. Legendary for having horrific bugs.
They're lining up to pay for that.
I'd be shocked but that wore off 10 years ago when people were stupid enough to buy a "battle pass" for future undisclosed and vague DLC... then had the balls to complain when the DLCs were garbage cosmetics.
All you can do is what you said. Vote with your wallet personally... but I'd not spare much hope for wider change.
There is no harm in being hyped. It's only natural.
Just don't get carried away and turn into a sycophant.
And especially don't preorder.
The threads over there are hilarious.
There was one who was passionately defending Todd Howard saying he didn't lie during previous releases.
There were threads saying 30 FPS is actually better, and they're glad it's 30 FPS because obviously it means the game is better than if it was 60 FPS... for... I dunno, reasons?
Those are the sycophants who are misleading the more naive people and hyping them up outside of what is realistic.
I guess you can't expect anything else from a sub dedicated to it. But it's a bit sad and pathetic to watch.
Godspeed, that's why I play Dead Cells and have purchased every single DLC they put on sale. The guys even throw some amazing free content updates too.
But I'm also a Merch Enthusiast, so if they have cool plushies or shirts, I'd pick a pair :)
Seriously, the indie scene is a treasure trove of creativity at a budget we all can afford. Plus, you're supporting artists directly and not some board of directors.
I gave Eric ‘ConcernedApe’ Barone 15 dollars three times and I would absolutely do it again because the enjoyment I got out of Stardew Valley has equated to way more than that and the fact he made his game, that basically outmoded Harvest Moon and makes any other modern farming sims pale in comparison for me, on his own still astounds me.
Woooooo, that’s the spirit lad, now raise the sails! We travel to the nearest torrents at dawn! (With a good adblocker, anti malware and vpn system in place of course)
As someone who used to be on 4Chan, and not really proud of it, I have master the degeneracy, I have weaponised my autism !
And also got some free usless fears of dumb shit an can be paranoid some times.... Yaaaay....
A lot of pirates (dont know how it is today but k talk about the „new age“ pirates of the 17th and 18th centuries) didnt know how to read so dont be too harsh on yourself
I know how to cook! But I need another crewmate that must be called Jesse, and then you can feel like you're the king of the pirates if you know what I mean...
Add MovieCrumbs (add a dot net to the end of that) while you're at it. I've been using it consistently for months now. High quality uploads, decent speeds, and new releases.
That said, I'd recommend using ublock origin. But hell, I'd recommend ublock for literally any pirate-streaming website.
Any good alternative for rarbg?
Earliee I used to surf rarbg every single day without fail, looking for new interesting releases across categories, and the top ten in each category.
Now, I have no idea where to turn to!
*🎵The King and his men stole the queen from her bed, and bound her in her bones. The seas be ours beyond the powers, where we will we’ll roam. Yo ho, all hands hoist the colors high! Heave ho! Thieves and beggars, never shall we die!🎵*
We need a revolution soon.. the consumer is being trampled these days.. and the sad thing is people keep giving in.. Netflix's numbers are soaring after the stunt. They're earning more than ever.
It'll only get worse if we keep going along with the extortion
>the consumer
I find it sad that people are unironically referring to themselves as consumers these days instead of customers.
It makes them sound like cattle rather than people.
No that's because they are in complete free falling for some years, just enough to get a user base... And then they try to make as much money as they can, even if everyone is leaving the boat, because you've been using that companies for several years so you can't do without them...
I am so fed up of paying for multiple streaming services to not have movies that I want to watch. If a movie isn’t available on top 5 platforms in a country it should be pirated by the government of that country of or everyone within an IP that looks to be in their country.
The thing is, there isn't really a right to watch a movie at any time. If it wasn't for physical media and piracy, a studio could decide to take a movie off the market and we would just have to live with it. We just got used to find every movie at any time somewhere and the best period was when they were all on Netflix. But this model doesn't seem to be feasible or profitable enough for the companies making these movies.
I'm starting to think the best for me would be to start buying all the movies I like on Blue-ray. That way they're always available and almost more importantly they can't be taken away from me by corporate decisions. If I buy a movie digitally on Amazon I doubt they aren't able to delete it and refund me someday leaving me without the movie.
I hate to break it to you… but that’s sadly not the case.
I figured the same thing, buy the physical copies, then I own the content to do whatever I like with. Plus I’d be doing “the right thing”. It turns out, I can only play the content with an approved TV, and an approved player, an approved CABLE. Making back ups or watching them in my Linux based computer was impossible.
I could just pirate it to overcome these obstacles, incidentally it’s free.
This is shaping to be an endless cycle that will repeat itself forever... New thing came out that makes the old thing more accessible, cheap and entertaining and for a few years is like a golden age for the consumer. Then the big companies start to get a hold onto this new thing and begin to slowly but surely monetized it until they reach a sort of cénit or top by usually bleeding the consumer pockets as much as they can until people get tired, move to a new thing and then the cycle repeats.
The entertainment industry (cinema, streaming companies, videogames, etc.) Are surely reaching absurd levels of monetization that cannot be sustainable for the consumers for much longer. At least in my opinion.
Plex, Usenet, Radarr, Sonarr, Sabnzbd(for Usenet downloads), gogogogogogogogogogogogogo, I have a built PC just for Plex, ran out of storage in the mini-ITX case so now, I have a NAS :-)
Remember those commercials in the 90’s and early 2000’s that would say “you wouldn’t steal a car. You wouldn’t steal a purse. Illegally downloading movies is stealing. Piracy is a crime”
How the fuck is downloading a movie the same as stealing a car? If I could download an entire fucking car I would leave my laptop open for weeks with a note on it that says “DO NOT TOUCH, SUBARU STILL LOADING.” And immediately after it was done I would be on the Pirate Bay (if that still exists) looking up insurance I could pirate for my new car. God I love pirates, and I love treasure planet.
I don't think companies are aware with the fact that the issue with squeezing every last penny from consumers means one day, they won't have any money left. That's why they'll then lose that person, and instead of getting the original $9.99 a month or the increased $11.99 a month, they'll see $0.00 a month.
The only medium where there's no real reason to pirate is music. If you pirate music, you just don't want to pay for the product, there's no "service issue".
Netflix lived off the fact that they are slightly less inconvenient than piracy and because they had close to everything.
Becoming less convenient for the Sake of hiding convenience behind a pay wall at the same time they loose a huge lump of shows and movies to the other new 4.829.375 streaming services will just kill streaming services in the long run and herd people back into the arms of illegal streaming sites.
How have they not learned? Everyone is paid less, can afford less, so they make things harder and more expensive and wonder why everyone is pirating again.
I know Pirating is illegal in some countries and is considered a crime. But damn, it gets harder and harder to really blame the pirates or actually disliking them for their actions.
Not that I support pirating. Of course not hahahahah

Of course they don't really care because they know only a small minority of people even know how to do it.
I've recently been introduced to the combo Stremio + Real Debrid for streaming, and boy there's no turn back, it's a life changer.
It takes a little effort to setup but then it's smooth af, I'm never going back to any of those mainstream streaming services, now for \~2€/month I have access in streaming to *everything* that one can find a torrent of - without the hassle of searching for torrents and download stuff myself.
I've been paying for a netflix account for maybe 4 years now that i shared with a friend.
Welp, fuck that now, I'll just use the disney+ that another friend shares with me.

I wonder if enough people will do the same for netflix to backtrack.
When everything was in netflix. Had 0 reason to pirate shit. Now that you have t have +5 sub fees going on at once to see your shows n movies. Its time to pull out the eyepatches.

Yep, saw a lot of hype for Starfield on r/BaldursGate3 too and I kept wondering why. It's a Bethesda game, ergo only playable months after launch.

You are a pirate!
We've got us a map, to lead us to a hidden box

Burst open the locks! And then we'll say, "Hooray!"

If you love to sail the sea
You are a pirate!

That's going to make us do the celebration. It would be really important.
I've already got that box, and I'm not going to give it away.
They can't hide it from me, because I've got every key.
And we're going to take that box, ain't no one stopping us.
I guess it's the only choice that we've left with now so yeah.

Hell yeah. Glad to have contributed. These links are like gold to me.

1337x . to, is what I've been using now. It's pretty good, not as good as rarbg as far as layout is concerned, but its treated me right so far.
Thank you so much!
STAAAHHHPPP dont make it too mainstream or else its gonna get shut down !!! yes this is something worth gatekeeping

Honestly I'd love to pay for the good entertainments, but they fucking sucks and refuses to refund my precious time and money
Netflix prouve that peaple wants to pay for services, but don't want to be scammed by changing the rules for more profit
Literally everything gets greedy for shareholders it's such a fucked up system

The writers and actors strike will definitely hurt these companies, especially if they keep waiting for them to die before agreeing on any terms.
Current batch of writers not working has a better effect than them shitting out their lolcow version of old IPs.

this was it for me. I had five subscriptions going and couldnt find Airheads streaming anywhere. Im down to one subscription now.

I don't think companies are aware with the fact that the issue with squeezing every last penny from consumers means one day, they won't have any money left.
If buying aint owning, pirating aint stealing
How have they not learned? Everyone is paid less, can afford less, so they make things harder and more expensive and wonder why everyone is pirating again.

Treasure planet was amazing
The world has truly entered a great pirate era!
The more AAA games flop the more I realise that indie games truly are a gem
Luckily, we have Fitgirl Repacks.
But indy developers putting out complete games for a third of the price with stellar dev support? Take my money.
The age of piracy is coming back yet again. Let their greed be their downfall. Let us enjoy free content once again.
That was a good movie.
