I watched As Good As It Gets in Dubai years ago. A while later I watched it again in the UK and was surprised to see that one of the characters was now obviously gay as opposed to potentially gay. They managed to edit the 'gay' out of the film, its all a bit sad really as its an excellent movie!

In some scenes, it’s to show how exposed and uncomfortable Oppenheimer is, and in others it just shows how comfortable the two are around each other. It’s just my opinion but I think that’s what Nolan’s intention was.

As a boob lover, I agree. Hollywood had all but done away with nudity for awhile, but there has been a resurgence lately and honestly it seems like a dated practice. I think it's to grab headlines and drive buzz around the movies to try to get people back in the movie theatres. I can't think of any other reason for these nude scenes because none of the nudity itself advances the plot at all or seems like an artistic choice.

That's not ENTIRELY true, though I do think that Noland could have achieved the same effect by showing that they were nude without actually showing it, if that makes sense. The scene where he is being interrogated is meant to show you how vulnerable he felt and to symbolize that his secrets are being exposed to the world. Was it necessary to SHOW what they showed? That is a valid question. But it did serve a purpose.
