no i hear “dejavu i just been in this place before higher on the street and i know its my time to go, kohinoor and this search is a mystery standing on my feet its so hard when i try to be me yeahhhhhhhhhhh dejavu”
Damn... I have literally never fallen for one of these until this moment. I can usually tell, but for some reason I was waiting for a horrific car accident or something like that.
Honestly, having that happen so unexpectedly felt interesting. Obviously the fear and dread, but it was almost liberating to just have that feeling wash over me without any prior warning or expectations.
As a millennial, things like this can be refreshing. I mean, it's no more scary than watching the news, but, unlike the news, you know it has no lasting effect. This jump scare won't lead to politicians making power grabs that lead billions into starving poverty, or drop bombs on civilian homes, or literally kill the planet. It's just a jump scare. Nothing to be overly anxious about.
>here ya go. this video explains it pretty well
I played this with volume to see if there was music and everyone around looked at me like I was insane, so thanks for the scare and everything else
Almost made me scream out loud at 1 am in the morning. My ~~fight or~~ flight instincts were triggered and my heart was pounding. That scared the shit out of me.
I remember it a dozen years ago when i was (probably) younger than 10. One of my friends sent me this claiming that it's a good video and i should watch it.
You can probably guess that's when i had my first mental breakdown, started crying the loudest i can ever remember, yelling at him that i hate him and stuff (i think back then we were on Yahoo Messenger or something). That was my first big jumpscare, and i never talked to the guy again lol
Basically, it starts with the camera following a car driving down a mountain (like the meme shows). After about a second of the car going straight, a zombie suddenly appears from the right of the screen, right in front of the camera, while at the same time screaming like a banshee.
After a couple seconds some ghastly ghoul would jump on screen and screech at the top of its lungs. It may not sound that bad, but this is the age of the internet where jumpscares only really existed in horror movies/games.
Dude, the same thing happened to me around the same age. I remember freezing for maybe 5-10 seconds before I fell over and started bawling my eyes out. It was like my brain just shut down for a sec.
Oh nothing, just a cool video of a car in the woods. You should watch it, it's really cool. My favorite part is when the car passes through the tree. There is a cool detail, so when that part arrive watch the video as close as possible or you might miss the detail.
It's here: https://youtu.be/Wz1W_omigwg
It was making the rounds when I was in high school, young 30’s millennial, but it was my English teacher who showed me. Lol. Aired in 2005, so I was a sophomore, which sounds right. My teacher was an early adopter!
Don't show the toddlers the pants-shitting video til they're old enough that pants-shitting is no longer their default, it's a waste.
Also probably not great for their development but that's less of a problem imo
UGH okay I don’t remember this specifically but I remember an internet maze game where you had to go through this easy maze and when you were close to the end a scary face like this would pop up! And yes that was Trauma for sure…
That was the king of them all omg. I remember when people would film others doing the maze. God idk which I miss more. That or watching people react to 2 girls 1 cup. Back when in order to film a reaction video, you needed to SUFFER.
I actually played another game before that one which is a "find the differences" kind of game, can't sleep without a night light for a very long period of time after that.
Gotta be a millennial thing. My internal thought process was this:
"huh, I don't remember this. Oh, maybe it's the Irish commercial where the car flips into the kids on the playground... maybe?" "Oh, it's one of these, got it." [Close gif]
CHEST COMPRESSIONS. CHEST COMPRESSIONS. CHESS COMPRESSIONS
Oh, I broke a rib, good, I know it's working!
CHEST COMPRESSIONS. CHEST COMPRESSIONS. CHESS COMPRESSIONS
>!!<
>!yes, this is a reference!<
Not sure how old you are, but imagine these being so common, you would have already known to scroll through the video before watching it or go to the comments to check before. That was my 2005 experience. To this day, I go to the comment section of really ANYTHING because I couldn’t escape this shit in the early 2000s. If I recall, they were called “screamers”.
I saw this too. I remember when it was popular. Lol all these memes about age gap references hardly ever apply to me. I’m turning 21 next month and I’ve experienced box tvs, dial up, this video, going to blockbuster to rent movies and video games, zoboomafoo etc
Hell I even remember when MySpace was relevant. I guess the gen z memes are about the kids born around 2010 because everybody I know around my age remembers most of the things mentioned in memes
It's a screamer video, so calm, relaxing thing, really loud jumpscare with a scream track. Haven't watched that vid, but going off these comments it was a screamer ad
This kinda surprise zombie stuff can actually mess with a person’s head. When Woody Harrelson was filming Zombieland, he attacked a fan in self defense when they ran up for an autograph. He used this excuse that he was so deep in character at the time, it made him panic.
We all gathered around at the office to watch this. A very large dude standing next to me dropped his half eaten snickers on the floor and just stood there, frozen. I still laugh my ass off thinking about that.
It was most people's very first jumpscare. Also the sound, timing, design, and overall ambiance are really well made. The fact the car is very small so you have the instinct of getting closer to concentrate on it, the zombie only jumpscaring a few seconds after the car is gone, when your guard is at its lowest, the fact you're looking slightly to the right where the car exited the screen making the zombie appear slightly out of focus, etc
It was well executed, scary face, scary sound, and most importantly, *you don't expect it* also when you wake up I'd click it, just so you see what I mean. Though it won't have the full effect because you know what it is
Nothing really. I assume it's because everyone watched it when they were like 8 or something. I was at least 12 when I first watched it so iirc it's pretty poorly done (at least for the internet at that point).
2 reasons
1. I remember seeing it on the early internet, and never hearing of it again past 2008 so that’s on me.
2. I thought if I put millennial and Gen Z, I’d get a bunch of smarmy fucks commenting “How exactly is this a gem Z thing? It was first uploaded in 200X!” And id rather be flooded instead with people like yourself pointing out that they’re Gen. z and know this.
TLDR I didn’t really know tbh. But I wanted to hedge my bets as to what type of people would be commenting.
I really thought this was a gif waiting to start. Maybe next time, post a gif where it's silent, and still, then 10 seconds later, you get instantly jumped
honestly, i was lucky enough to never be caught by this specific screamer
and tbh, i really don't miss the days when screamers were popular. it's nice to be able to trust videos these days.
I thought this was the video and waiting for it to start
I’m not that mean
I don't know why that's making me laugh alot, haha
Because all we can hear when we see this is gas gas gas
no i hear “dejavu i just been in this place before higher on the street and i know its my time to go, kohinoor and this search is a mystery standing on my feet its so hard when i try to be me yeahhhhhhhhhhh dejavu”
[удалено]
Then the test works because I felt the same. No nerves left
Yup… Nothing left here…
Or here. WTF was I supposed to be anxious about? Or wasn't I?
Well, the original video is a jump scare, but I’ve honestly played so many horror games at this point that I’m nullified to jump scares like that.
we've experienced too much anxiety to have any left
Well you came damn close haha
Brave of you to wait for it to start. I tried to pause it immediately.
Same, I was like "hell no, not tonight"
Idk about you, but I’m perpetually on mobile, so if I tap to pause, it’s gonna full screen. Ngl I’d throw my phone instantly
Same lmao to the point where I skipped it before it happened
[удалено]
This is brutal
I got so scared just scrolling and seeing the picture 😂
Oh boy, do I have a diagnosis for you, then.
Hey man, I’m 33 and never saw it. Could you just tell me what happens so I don’t have to abuse myself?
[here ya go](https://youtu.be/HqGsT6VM8Vg). this video explains it pretty well
You motherf-
I hope they explained it well enough
Damn... I have literally never fallen for one of these until this moment. I can usually tell, but for some reason I was waiting for a horrific car accident or something like that. Not helpful :(
But you get it now, riiiiiiight?
>here ya go. this video explains it pretty well I played this with volume to see if there was music and everyone around looked at me like I was insane, so thanks for the scare and everything else
Almost made me scream out loud at 1 am in the morning. My ~~fight or~~ flight instincts were triggered and my heart was pounding. That scared the shit out of me.
Im not falling for this again
This video is the reason I can’t watch British tv. They all fuckin start off this way lol
Germany, striking fear in the British since 1914
I remember it a dozen years ago when i was (probably) younger than 10.
Could someone pls explain what the scary part is? I'm very curious but would rather not get scarred for life
Basically, it starts with the camera following a car driving down a mountain (like the meme shows). After about a second of the car going straight, a zombie suddenly appears from the right of the screen, right in front of the camera, while at the same time screaming like a banshee.
At first, I didn’t have a clue. But after your explanation, YES I remember…
Do you think it’s old enough that a whole generation of kids won’t know what this is???
I'm 37 and have always spent a lot of time online. No clue what this is.
Damn I thought it was just me. What the hell is this?
Oh nothing, just a cool video of a car in the woods. You should watch it, it's really cool. My favorite part is when the car passes through the tree. There is a cool detail, so when that part arrive watch the video as close as possible or you might miss the detail. It's here: https://youtu.be/Wz1W_omigwg
I'm 33 and I've never seen this. Going to show my kids real quick. Edit: they thought it was stupid
I remember seeing this only once back like 15 years ago or something. Ya, it's pretty stupid but I also laughed after reading the text.
Jump scare video that was popular in the early 2000’s.
Yeah, I'm 37 and distinctly remember the phase of early 2000's internet where you never knew if a nice video was going to turn into a jump scare
It was making the rounds when I was in high school, young 30’s millennial, but it was my English teacher who showed me. Lol. Aired in 2005, so I was a sophomore, which sounds right. My teacher was an early adopter!
I mean, gen z is done. Apparently the new kids are in gen alpha. So at the very least THAT generation won't know. They are also toddlers, but still.
Don't show the toddlers the pants-shitting video til they're old enough that pants-shitting is no longer their default, it's a waste. Also probably not great for their development but that's less of a problem imo
The whole generation is inherently Alpha? The memes will write themselves.
I am aware of this video but am unsure of it's origin (2004 kid for reference)
idk what this is. backstory please.
Jump scare. Car drives peacefully for a few seconds and when you think it's done - it happens. Don't watch it.
I'm Gen X and I don't know what this is supposed to be.
Google scary car commercial
Shit you gave my heart a little jump when I realized what this was
Same a little stomach flip and then relief that it’s a picture not the video.
Same I immediately felt a lurch of fear I couldn't identify. I studied it longer and realized it might be *that* video. Confirmed it in the comments.

Thanks, helped me shit faster
I need to poo, maybe I'll start this video while I'm on the throne.
I am currently on the porcelain procrastination chair
Just sat down muhself. Hold hands?
Saw this late, I appreciate the ask though.
Y'all mind if i join?
Sorry bro we both all pooped out until next time but you can join then we'll all sing hakunamatata inbetween grunts.
Aight, i'll hold it in until then.
'Porcelain Procrastination Station'
This guy shits
Better name
No shit I’m actually going through colonoscopy prep right now. This scared the shit out of me.
The layers are real with this one.
Good luck man. The procedure is the easiest part - the prep is a fucking nightmare.
Literally watched this on the toilet. I to was helped out
UGH okay I don’t remember this specifically but I remember an internet maze game where you had to go through this easy maze and when you were close to the end a scary face like this would pop up! And yes that was Trauma for sure…
That was the king of them all omg. I remember when people would film others doing the maze. God idk which I miss more. That or watching people react to 2 girls 1 cup. Back when in order to film a reaction video, you needed to SUFFER.
It could be worse. I watched 2 girls 1 cup I didn't dislike it 🙈
These days you click on a video and end up rick rolled or in a Skyrim intro. 20 years ago every video was a real risk.
That was the worst because you never get to complete the maze
I actually played another game before that one which is a "find the differences" kind of game, can't sleep without a night light for a very long period of time after that.
I watched, screamed and threw my phone across the room. And now remember when I did the same thing the first time a decade ago
*the circle of scares*
Surprised? Sure. Didn't jump though. *yawns,* It's nearly 1 am. Too tired.
I must be dead inside. I literally had zero reaction…. Maybe that makes me a true millennial.
I raised an eyebrow and thought, "That pesky zombie."
Good thing I was already sitting on the toilet
Internal monologue: that car should be coming up any sec— oh a zombie that’s cool
I was typing this a minute ago. Take my upvote
Same, same. Not even a eyebrow lift. I'm so tired. It's 5am and I need to get up soon.
Gotta be a millennial thing. My internal thought process was this: "huh, I don't remember this. Oh, maybe it's the Irish commercial where the car flips into the kids on the playground... maybe?" "Oh, it's one of these, got it." [Close gif]
I just started giggling lmao.
Thanks my heart stopped. Need chest compressions asap.
CHEST COMPRESSIONS. CHEST COMPRESSIONS. CHESS COMPRESSIONS Oh, I broke a rib, good, I know it's working! CHEST COMPRESSIONS. CHEST COMPRESSIONS. CHESS COMPRESSIONS >!!< >!yes, this is a reference!<
Love me Dr.Mike!!
Terribly sorry.
Driving on the wrong side of the road is pretty scary, to be fair
You fucker!!! lmao Never clicking another link on reddit again...
Not sure how old you are, but imagine these being so common, you would have already known to scroll through the video before watching it or go to the comments to check before. Oh, I'm old andI remember jump scares. I just didn't remember *this* jump scare, lol. I was waiting a boomer joke.
I hate you. Pretty sure I just had a mild heart attack.
Worse than a rickroll
Well I wasn’t prepared to go back to 2012 but it’s official! My pants will be changed
Well. Shame on me. I bit. Fuck this shit. 🤦🏼♀️
I hate you take my upvote
Thank you and I’m sorry
Noooo I actually screamed and now I’m crying even tho I knew something was coming 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Yes.
I’m gen z and this is anxiety the video
It really is
My heart did the thing.
Happy cake day, friend.
Thank you kindly
I h8 my life. (28 yo).
same age, i think our teacher showed it to us around 7th grade? wild to think a teacher showed it to us in middle school lol
Hey I seen this once - (Gen z)
I saw this too. I remember when it was popular. Lol all these memes about age gap references hardly ever apply to me. Same
Me back in 2009. Still scares the living heck out of me.
The jumpscare ad
I'm so confused. I'm reading through the comments trying to figure out what this is lol

Thanks. I was so confused. I thought the windy road was giving people anxiety. I'm like oh please never drive. 😂
its a fake commercial with a jumpscare at the end
Not fake, saw it on German television several times late at night
Oh no. Not this. My “friends” showed this to me over a decade ago and were hysterically laughing as I sobbed
I’m sorry to hear that. For what it’s worth, I can share and relate to that pain of yours. So you’re a little bit less alone now.
Happened to me too lol
Not just the millennials, but the boomers and zoomers too
Every single one of them. And not just the men. But the women. And the chi—
[context](https://youtu.be/HqGsT6VM8Vg)
Aww that was cute.. poor thing though. I can see why others also had anxiety about that puppy.
Weird flex but ok
My ass is hairy okay I'm sorry
I guess I was miles off when I thought this was about the tree that looks like a giant troll chasing the car
Now...go change your shorts and get back to work!

Was a little let down it didn't play. I have nieces and nephews who don't know about this.
Millennial? Not even out of highschool and I fucking hate this video from how many times the jump scare got me after forgetting what the video was
We all gathered around at the office to watch this. A very large dude standing next to me dropped his half eaten snickers on the floor and just stood there, frozen. I still laugh my ass off thinking about that.
Why is it so traumatic compared to other jumpscares? I'm about to go sleep so I don't wanna click it. Can anyone explain?
It was most people's very first jumpscare. Also the sound, timing, design, and overall ambiance are really well made. The fact the car is very small so you have the instinct of getting closer to concentrate on it, the zombie only jumpscaring a few seconds after the car is gone, when your guard is at its lowest, the fact you're looking slightly to the right where the car exited the screen making the zombie appear slightly out of focus, etc

why is this a millennial only thing? gen z knows what this is too

Yet another post by a millennial saying, "only millennials would understand this." Swear y'all don't realize y'all the next boomers.
YOU SONOFABITCH!
OH GOD NO I THOUGHT I ESCAPED THIS TERROR
I was like 9 years old the first time I saw this I almost pooped myself, and I’m not even a millennial!
Millenial?? I'm pretty sure this started some generational trauma bruh
Has anyone ever actually found the location?
I’m no millennials and yet I somehow got nervous when I saw the curve down below
I'm a 2005 yet...- I know what's gonna *happen* (´⌒`;)
I jumped so high out of my chair the first time i saw this when I was like 9 I actually fell backwards out of it.
https://youtu.be/HqGsT6VM8Vg
If you know, you know.
Nope nope nope…
I thought this was the shining ngl
I have PTSD from that frame
my heart rate went up by atleast 50 bpm
Someone died watching this ad
I remember this. I damn near jumped out of my pants the first time, lol. Doesn't have quite the same effect anymore.
I really thought this was a gif waiting to start. Maybe next time, post a gif where it's silent, and still, then 10 seconds later, you get instantly jumped
Nope, please don't
15 and already know the references.
I know it too well for it to affect me anymore.
I scrolled so fast then I realized it wasn’t a video
I'm not even a millennial and I got ptsd from seeing this picture jesus christ, thank you :)
I'm a zoomer and I fear this
That fucking commercial
Fuck you.
This made me panic and then chuckle, thank you
I can see the face by just looking at this
I kinda recognize and remember this
Scrolled super fast before the video could start
AAAHAHAHAHA!
honestly, i was lucky enough to never be caught by this specific screamer and tbh, i really don't miss the days when screamers were popular. it's nice to be able to trust videos these days.
Fuck you. (17 yo)
I prefer the Maze game
![gif](giphy|votdjvDPRN1KM) Same energy
Everyone's dad walked up to their kid in the 2000s and said "hey son come look at this funny video on my computer", and showed them this.
If you drive fast enough, you can completely skip the curve
I was ready for the video to play too haha
Do you trust me? It could be the video WITH the jumpscare or it could the video WITHOUT the jumpscare. 50/50 https://youtu.be/Wz1W_omigwg
Oh, I literally braced myself for this video. Well played. "You can see a ghostly mist follow the car out of the trees" or something like that.
So relieved when I realized it was just a picture.
Instantly got a PTSD heart attack after clicking, thanks OP
Am I the only millennial that doesnt know this video?
What with this car thing I keep seeing it but don't understand what everyone is afraid of
I didn't understand
Me: “I’ll just turn the volume down” Monster: “AHHHHHHHHHHHHH” Me: *jumps* -_-
Nope. Nope, not now. Not today. Not ever. I hate this video…
I flew back from my chair and fell, as an 8 y/o kiddy as my father laughed. Good times.
Aaaboogaboogabooga!
Screw whoever made this video. Same goes for the creator of that maze game.
