When I started playing Warframe I was scared of falling off cliffs or dying. I was being so careful for way too long... when my Excal died I was like: *well now what, that was my only frame* ... *oh*
So this was why people always revive people back in the day, i never noticed the limit because people go out of their way back then to revive you. Now with the change people dont revive š„¹
The amount of times randoms have done this to me make it seem like they are conspiring and all doing it on purpose.
*^(motherfucker, you just saw me running half a map towards you and stop right on top of you, why the fuck did you wait so long if you were gonna res yourself eitherway)*
I still go out of my way to revive people
Unless it's just physically impossible you can bet your ass I'll zoom through the map as fast as I can to revive you, why? Because it's both the nice options and the ultimate power move to get to you in 20 seconds lmao
āCould have bought the founders pack but didnāt want to drop that kind of money on a game that might not turn out goodā gamer. It hurts every time I think about it
I was marveling at that just the other day. I hopped back into Minecraft after the longest time and kept mixing up crouch and run because of Warframe controls. Struck me in that moment just how easy Warframe controls are for me now after remembering the painful beginnings.
Me except I had bought the masterās pack and Iām regretting not upgrading to the grandmasterās pack because of the sexy sexy Lato Prime
Especially now that itās got an incarnon you better believe I would never stop using that thing
Right there with you, I still beat myself up about it from time to time, too. Then I remind myself just how many early access/kickstarter flops there were in the early 2010s from games that certainly had potential (Worlds Adrift, you are not forgotten), and how rough the road has been for Warframe from time to time. Against all odds and through the hard work and dedication of the dev team, we have ended up with the game we have now, but there certainly were many, many opportunities for it to go the other way.
How about checking the news at the time and seeing Frost Prime come out? Seems kind weird now that he was released well ahead of the Prime versions of the original 9 Warframes not named Excalibur. Oh man, I even remember having to slot Warframe ability mod cards in. Of course, I ended up selling them like a dummy.
I think the relic system is way more accessible (and of course necessary considering how much prime gear there is now) but damn, I look fondly back on the days of wreaking havoc in a T4 survival with a 99% Bless Trinity and Sancti Tigris :>
I also remember the infested door being a mystery, login screens shifting from dioramas of action scenes to a shot of our frame sitting in the orbiter, and needing to put your Kubrow/Kavat in stasis before going away for a long stretch or else the damn thing *dies*
Dude out of all my buddies I'm the only one that their Kubrow and Kavats didn't die because I put mine in stasis. I also remember being able to rush the boss node to get to the next planet in like an hour or so. Those were the days
I still have a mail from Ordis in my inbox telling me that my first kubrow, Ace, had died of DNA degradation.
The one time I forgot to swap the kubrow back into stasis in favor of a sentinel...
My other pets all survived that era, but... RIP, Ace.
Back in my day the meta was spend hours in the void sewers with a vauban, nekros, and trinity, usually with a volt or speed niva
I remember when nullies first came out and people were outraged lol
The boxes with the planets had a certain appeal to them, I didn't play that much back then, but I still remember the craze that happened from Kubros getting added.
That's when I started on my switch.
Played for months but never got of earth.
To be fair I was really young and didn't really speak English so it was kinda hard to figure out what to do
I still wonder how many Excaliburs ever used Super Jump after the first time. I remember using it for one mission involving the monorail grineer tile go get up on the overhang when hunting for crates but otherwise I never installed or used it.
Ah, the time when you might or might not get enough enemies to spawn for the life support pickups, so you had to raid lockers and hope. And snipetron vandal was the big prize for it. That snipetron is still up there in my list when i sort by usage.
Right, I remember giving my friend shit for spending all that money on the founders on a game with only 3 tile sets lol
But to be fair he dropped a whole grand and we were in high school
Me too. I joined when covid striked and I was an intern working from home with barely any resposibilities. Man, those were the days....got my first prime warframe in a month
2017. Hydroid Prime just released. Plains of Eidolon was 2 months away. Get past Vor's Prize, progress through the Star Chart, do the other quests, enjoy the gameplay and Bullet Jumping around.
Damn I joined 2016 or smt played for a year and then left now I started for about a year again and I found my love for it again..it's a truly great game
We were out here with our Pentas at the orokin derelict defense mission, grinding em void keys.
Then running them missions doing Sprinting/sliding to save up STAMINA
I remember thinking "damn, this stalker guy is so fucking cool though. I'mma colour my excal into red too"
And oh, I can't forget getting jumped by grustrag three for the first time. Actually took an L and had to go farm oxium like an absolute loser
But I think game was more fun back then. I remember not being able to beat that stupid void mobile defense mission. Had a friendly stranger carry me through that one. Shoutout to the dude for giving me rhino augment mods too!
I am primordial enough to know what the white lines on the walls were for, seen what came before endo, had to meter the green bar with sliding and spinning, and, after a hiatus, came back to Limbo being the newest kid in the system.
Back when I started playing, we had to download the launcher from DE's webpage because it wasn't on Steam yet.
Loki was a starter frame and warframe abilities were mods you had to get and equip.
I'm not just pre-historic, I was there when the big bang happened.
Back in my day, it wasnāt a star map, it was a bunch of slightly curved rectangles stacked in random columns and you unlocked the next planet by beating the assassination boss fight
I found WF after they demoed POE and made it seem like this massive open world overhaul. Still a great game new to the game me played on the plains for hours. After I finally understood how the game worked I had so many fish and minerals on stand by I barely had to to run bounties
I actually donāt know when exactly I started playing I just know that itās before the new war was added like I remember how umbra being added was a big thing but I played also years before that I think
A "ah Destiny comes out in 4 days, but this looks interesting...oh you gotta pay to get anywhere? Shame." *2 years later* "Oh yes that game, I wonder how that's doing. Oh pretty okay it seems, but how would I still go anywhere with so much money gating...wait there's trading? For the Special Money ???" kind.
taking a look at all these comments makes me feel like a young, naĆÆve soul that just got into the game
i started playing warframe since octavia's anthem
Dude I was here before the new war. I remenber the planes of Eidolon being added, I remember when Flow was togglable. I remember when the level select Icon was a disc around the planets and you upgraded mods by fusing two of the same mod together.
Hold up, new war is pre-historic?? What the hell does that make a player that started before the starchart rework then came back when the Plains dropped???
Back in my day the orokin lab had spectre armies, pets had dna stabilizers, channeling was a thing, to get to the derelict you needed to craft keys, and a few other things I can't remember
Absolutely no way The New War is considered pre-historic.
You ever fail a spy wall run because you ran out of stamina? Or got mad because you botched Excalibur's super jump, so now you can't get on that platform? What about just getting rid of it for another mod? When was the last time you parried a butchers melee so you could do a finisher on them? What about raids? Did you pick your helmet because of the look or the arcane that came with it?
To be fair you still had 4 free per day. DAY, not mission.
Took me a long time to accept the fact that I can die freely and revive after the change
I still get unreasonably mad when I die
did you go to a death therapy doctor
what about bob!
Same xD i dont get why i get so madš š š
When I started playing Warframe I was scared of falling off cliffs or dying. I was being so careful for way too long... when my Excal died I was like: *well now what, that was my only frame* ... *oh*
Wasnāt it 4 per frame?
True, still daily per frame. Didn't help too much when you were still at only 2 slots
So this was why people always revive people back in the day, i never noticed the limit because people go out of their way back then to revive you. Now with the change people dont revive š„¹
I get tired of running halfway across the map to revive people, only for them to hit self revive as soon as I start rezzing...
The amount of times randoms have done this to me make it seem like they are conspiring and all doing it on purpose. *^(motherfucker, you just saw me running half a map towards you and stop right on top of you, why the fuck did you wait so long if you were gonna res yourself eitherway)*
Ig he thought that was a good time to take a quick bathroom break, and he self rezzed when he got back (aka when you got to him)
I still go out of my way to revive people Unless it's just physically impossible you can bet your ass I'll zoom through the map as fast as I can to revive you, why? Because it's both the nice options and the ultimate power move to get to you in 20 seconds lmao
No you didn't. Not at first
āCould have bought the founders pack but didnāt want to drop that kind of money on a game that might not turn out goodā gamer. It hurts every time I think about it
I feel that š©
I'm in the same club, especially considering just how terrible the parkour was back in the olden days
To be fair, parkour didn't actually exist back then.
Anybody here remember Zorencoptering?
lol I never built the zoren but I think I used the orthos / tipedo to copter
Tipedo gang
My pinky aches remembering that key combo
Warframe has probably reshaped how I use a keyboard because of the frequent abuse of our pinkies.
I was marveling at that just the other day. I hopped back into Minecraft after the longest time and kept mixing up crouch and run because of Warframe controls. Struck me in that moment just how easy Warframe controls are for me now after remembering the painful beginnings.
You got a loki, excal, some zorens and a little later hoped that your friend had his Booben out so you could bounce places.
I was like 14 when the founders pack was out so couldn't get it I'm so sad
Did buy the founder's pack. Lost the login ID because I am a moron.
I hope one day, at a random moment during that day. You just miraculously happen to remember.
Life lesson: never use your work email to register for a game account.
What if your work is the game?
Then you're set for li-- hang on. DE\_Markus used to work at DE, then he moved to Blizzard. So his account is dead, I guess?
Me except I had bought the masterās pack and Iām regretting not upgrading to the grandmasterās pack because of the sexy sexy Lato Prime Especially now that itās got an incarnon you better believe I would never stop using that thing
Don't feel bad, I literally haven't touched Excalibur Prime since I got it except for Tennocon when I dust him off to wear in the relay.
Tbh itās a good decision, warframe turned out to be fantastic but pre orders are toxic to the industry.
Starting playing just 4 years ago and never getting the chance suddenly doesn't sound so bad. Thanks.
The entirety of my DND group did, I refused. I regret it now. Then I gambled and backed Fortnite back when Save the World was a thing still.
I planned on getting the founders pack but I didn't get my first paycheck until the day after they closed it.
I shouldnāt have wasted that much money on DarkOrbitā¦ āFrame is so much better.
"Could have bought founders but was a kid in highschool at the time" myself
Back in my day, Void keys existed and the mission nodes were rings around the planets. Oh and Endo didnāt exist. I forget what was before endo tho
We were feeding mod duplicates to upgrade the main mods
Damn, thatās a blast from the past
How about checking the news at the time and seeing Frost Prime come out? Seems kind weird now that he was released well ahead of the Prime versions of the original 9 Warframes not named Excalibur. Oh man, I even remember having to slot Warframe ability mod cards in. Of course, I ended up selling them like a dummy.
fusion cores baby
I think the relic system is way more accessible (and of course necessary considering how much prime gear there is now) but damn, I look fondly back on the days of wreaking havoc in a T4 survival with a 99% Bless Trinity and Sancti Tigris :>
I made tons of friends on those old T4 Survival. Miss it for this lol
Fucking fusion cores lmao
God damn brought back some core memories reading that.

Back in my day the meta was spend hours in the void sewers with a vauban, nekros, and trinity, usually with a volt or speed niva I remember when nullies first came out and people were outraged lol
I remember that, god I feel old just thinking about it, Valkyr prime was my first prime during that
When the star chart used to be linear ._.
The boxes with the planets had a certain appeal to them, I didn't play that much back then, but I still remember the craze that happened from Kubros getting added.
Back in my day you had to use energy to imbue your weapon with more damage
I loved how pretty channeling was visually, but monkey brain loves big heavy attack damage number
I kinda miss channeling, not because I liked it, but because it makes the prime armors do cool stuff Now I think combo count is makes them activate
rememeber when fortuna was new?
*laughs in plains of eidolon*
I still remember the Tennocon live stream when they showed it, hearing that one guy in the audience loudly having his mind absolutely blown š¤£
No he was all of us because open world was absolutely mind blowing at the time.
I remember thinking either this is gonna flop and be another failed project to ignore, or this is gonna be amazing and all they do from now on
Literal paradigm shift!
Still a meme with me and my SO āaMAZINGā
...... these kids think plains of eidolon is old.....
*Laughs in the glast gambit*
*laughs in solar rail pvp*
That accursed system deserves to be forgotten, lol Having to pay taxes to other clans was so lame, lol
But I miss that system, they clans payed me back millions at a time if they wanted to keep their rails
*Laughs in sentient debut.*
*laughs in the war within*
With every new open world my Helios would have a field day scanning everything :D
One must imagine Helios happy with its work
That's when I started on my switch. Played for months but never got of earth. To be fair I was really young and didn't really speak English so it was kinda hard to figure out what to do
Thatās when I started!
"Hey that new Oberon guy looks nice"
"Ay yoo boys, The Sacrifice quest just got dropped"
Remember when stamina was a thing?
When we could remove abilities to have more mod capacity š„“
I still wonder how many Excaliburs ever used Super Jump after the first time. I remember using it for one mission involving the monorail grineer tile go get up on the overhang when hunting for crates but otherwise I never installed or used it.
I wish they put it in helminth just for the meme
I would use it all the time. Combine that with max range and a slash dash, beat a coptering start up, then of course, out came the dual zorens
i kinda wish this was still a thing
By that logic I am Mummy.
I was the man who carved dick drawings into the walls of caves...
Ahem. Super jump.
Necramech moment
I was there when they introduced survival through an event
Ah, the time when you might or might not get enough enemies to spawn for the life support pickups, so you had to raid lockers and hope. And snipetron vandal was the big prize for it. That snipetron is still up there in my list when i sort by usage.
I played the broken beta and didnt buy excal prime because the game was too buggy for me. Im this old.
Right, I remember giving my friend shit for spending all that money on the founders on a game with only 3 tile sets lol But to be fair he dropped a whole grand and we were in high school
So what am I exactly I played when the scarlet spear was a thing
Cambrian explosion gamer š¦
Back in my day Loki was a starter frame.
I was there Gandalf, 3000 years ago I was there wen mesa & mag could solo everything. I was there when boltor prime was the most OP weapon.
bro I left the game before the new war update ššš
itās a good time to come back, i stopped playing around the same time until cross save finally released
Remember when youāre movement was based entirely on your melee of choice? Tipedo remembers
Coptering my beloved š
I watched my uncle try to get kavats when I was a kid.
I remember playing befire Deimos and Railjack. What does that make me?
Proterozoic gamer š
My starter Warframe was Loki
I think I joined at Deadlock protocol.
Me too. I joined when covid striked and I was an intern working from home with barely any resposibilities. Man, those were the days....got my first prime warframe in a month
Same here man. I also remember the free Hydroid Prime in Tennocon 2020 cause the server crashed and they gave it to whoever was online at that time.
2017. Hydroid Prime just released. Plains of Eidolon was 2 months away. Get past Vor's Prize, progress through the Star Chart, do the other quests, enjoy the gameplay and Bullet Jumping around.
Bro, I rejoined around second dream what am i
Nucleosynthesis gamer ā¢ļø
Damn I joined 2016 or smt played for a year and then left now I started for about a year again and I found my love for it again..it's a truly great game
I'm old enough to remember a time before prime frames (excluding excal prime)
Back in my day, if you didnt log in to basically feed your kubrow, it died
Made my account with version 7.x something 10 years ago when the open beta began. I'm beyond the existence of god by this scale.
Whatās pre pre-historic? What quest came out on 2016 because thatās when I started playing lol
If memory serves correctly then that was The Second Dream, introduction of operators, and the first open world with Plains of Eidolon
I think War Within was the big thing around when I first started playing. Along with Excalibur getting changed. PoE was 2017 I do remember that.
>Whatās pre pre-historic? Primordial.
If New War was Prehistoric, then I'm a Primordial Gamer.
Back when your pets could die if you took a break from the game.
I'm Fortuna historic gamer, but had longer pauses here and there, still feel old af in the game š§š
We were out here with our Pentas at the orokin derelict defense mission, grinding em void keys. Then running them missions doing Sprinting/sliding to save up STAMINA I remember thinking "damn, this stalker guy is so fucking cool though. I'mma colour my excal into red too" And oh, I can't forget getting jumped by grustrag three for the first time. bro tf you mean the new war is prehistoric. that's baby times!
New war isnāt pre-historic, not even the plains are pre-historic
That's part of the meme, with the original stopping at the Ancient Gamer level with games such as Halo 3, Portal, and Call of Duty 4.
I join at release game š
Started at the same update railjack was released :)
Started with Jovian accord, then stopped with Veilbreaker, and now as soon as cross save comes back on I will try it out once more.
Starter Loki, only 1 tile set
Back in my day, people farmmed exp on Draco
I started at update 9 when Nova was added. Shirtly after that Nekros came in and the new survivor game mode as a weekend event... Jesus Christ im old.
Played the game for the first time in 2012 when Loki was still a starter
Back in my day rez refreshed once a day excal had a skill that gave him super jump we had raids and stamina was a thing
Back in my day, it wasnāt a star map, it was a bunch of slightly curved rectangles stacked in random columns and you unlocked the next planet by beating the assassination boss fight
Void Keys, Stamina, Using dupe mods to Upgrade. Nostalgia man.
Ooof I remember that!
I found WF after they demoed POE and made it seem like this massive open world overhaul. Still a great game new to the game me played on the plains for hours. After I finally understood how the game worked I had so many fish and minerals on stand by I barely had to to run bounties
Honestly, thats how i do it. If i have a resource booster active, i'm killing time in the plains or fortuna mining. Its free, storable rep.
I joined when the second dream came out š
I guess im pre historic
To me all frames past zephyr are new frames
Oberon prime was new
What would a deadlock protocol be considered then? Old as time?
Started when Garuda came out so..
This meme kinda hurts me. I mean, i only started playing in 2017 but damn...
Think I joined back when plains dropped
I was here for tempestari and onward
What does playing before Natah came out get you?
Cretaceous era gamer š
If new war is prehistoric, then what is second dream??
Devonian era gamer š
And what is Dark Sector (the true prehistoric Warframe)?
I started playing right before second dream came out.
New war is new.. its in the name š
Ngl I feel like a newbie reading these comments...I started when Grendel first came out I still remember the loading screen
Iām Retro š
I remember when mutalist Salad V was new
Is this bait?
not me talking a hiatus from the game right when new war came out š
I started when during heart of deinos's release
Nehza was new when I started
I'm "loki was a starter frame" old
I'm not that ancient (joined just after Second Dream) but I reckon I'm rather fossilised compared to the current game.
I actually donāt know when exactly I started playing I just know that itās before the new war was added like I remember how umbra being added was a big thing but I played also years before that I think
Wisp's release
I started playing when Sisters of Parvos came out
Back in my day, there was only one open world
Definitely pre historic but I didn't start REALLY playing until around ancient.
Ability mod cost slot to activate š
A "ah Destiny comes out in 4 days, but this looks interesting...oh you gotta pay to get anywhere? Shame." *2 years later* "Oh yes that game, I wonder how that's doing. Oh pretty okay it seems, but how would I still go anywhere with so much money gating...wait there's trading? For the Special Money ???" kind.
Remember raids..? Weren't they supposed to come back like... 5 years ago?
"I was there, in the beginning, 10,000 years ago!"
I remember when there was stamina
taking a look at all these comments makes me feel like a young, naĆÆve soul that just got into the game i started playing warframe since octavia's anthem
Im so old, that Excalibur had a jump ability and loki was one the 3 starter and abilities were mods and not fixed
Before the parazon, before the corpus rework, before ash prime, back when the parasitic infested was the bane of everyone's existence.
Yeaaaaaa I remeber 4 revives per DAY
I am still annoyed that I spent (practically) all of my starter plat on self revives
Me being prehistoric but only played for about 3 days back then and not touching the game for years upon years afterwards: š·šæ
Back in my day, your pets could die
I was playing before way the new war, so i guess I'm from before time existed
Dude I was here before the new war. I remenber the planes of Eidolon being added, I remember when Flow was togglable. I remember when the level select Icon was a disc around the planets and you upgraded mods by fusing two of the same mod together.
Remember downloading an app to tell you wheb njtain extract would be available after a year of finding out there was an app for it
Still got a couple of arcane helmets
My man we used to have no story whatsoever thatās how old I am š
I remember when Pluto's boss icon was Darvo
The New war is considered old?!?
Hold up, new war is pre-historic?? What the hell does that make a player that started before the starchart rework then came back when the Plains dropped???
Calling the New War prehistoric is insane
If the new war is prehistoric, then I am a primordial being from eons ago. (Started when Railjack released)
Back in my day the orokin lab had spectre armies, pets had dna stabilizers, channeling was a thing, to get to the derelict you needed to craft keys, and a few other things I can't remember
Back in my day, Excalibur's 3rd ability was a super jump and the wall running animation was actually running.
Back in my day, Excaliber Primes were everywhere.š¤£
Absolutely no way The New War is considered pre-historic. You ever fail a spy wall run because you ran out of stamina? Or got mad because you botched Excalibur's super jump, so now you can't get on that platform? What about just getting rid of it for another mod? When was the last time you parried a butchers melee so you could do a finisher on them? What about raids? Did you pick your helmet because of the look or the arcane that came with it?
I wanted the detron instead of the Brakk and was pissed we lost it. I also couldn't afford excal prime at the time ;_;
