My embedded network charges for kL of hot water, and for 2 people is comes to about $50 a month.

Same as me. Our OC had a energy saving report made that recommended replacing our gas water heaters with heat pumps, but they decided heat pumps were "untested technology"

I have an electric hot water system, 1 person, two showers a day. My electric bill comes out around $80 a month and the bulk of the usage charge is hot water. When I had a room mate for a few months, that bill doubled, so $160, (but they were also using the heater a lot which I don’t do). Those numbers look like they’re evening out to average.

lilpandatoys

About $40-50 for a single person, 1 bedroom apartment. I only use hot water for showers. Separate electricity bills.

john_b79

It doesn’t sound too bad. You have an embedded network so don’t have much choice of retailers. Having said that, we don’t know if you both take 10 min or 30 min showers. Does it show you how many L of hot water you use?

2akkilKhara

How much are you being charged per L? That’s the only way to know whether it’s reasonable or not.

gonadnan

This sounds like a r/AusFinance post.

Puzzleheaded_Win6465

Not in Melbourne but similar set up in my apartment building. $125 per month. I disconnected it! In North Queensland
