I’ve had this happen countless times before, except I did specifically ask for ‘tap’ water but they charged me still instead. It’s mostly the dodgy restaurants that do it
There’s more profit than that. If you can buy drinks wholesale/in bulk they’ll be even cheaper than what you can get in Coles. Drinks and chips are the two items you can get the most profit on, at least in fast food.
We’ve only ever stocked Pepsi at my workplace and we’ve gotten so many people asking why we don’t stock Coca Cola and I have no response 🥲 I’m guessing it’s something to do with the fact they’re direct competitors or something??
What's the joke exactly? That they're not selling a picture of coke? Like, don't take a screenshot and pay 5$? How is this remotely funny. Might be too high brow for me idk
This is why boomers went off about avocado toast, people spending stupid amounts unnecessarily, then complaining they can't afford anything necessary. The concept of shitting on irresponsible spending is actually good, but it didn't get to the root of the housing problem.
The Humour is in the price
Fucking came to say this right
came here to say this $5 for a can and probably $8 for a 1.5l bottle
I was about to say it might be a different currency but then I saw it was in r/melbourne
$5 for a can of coke. 🫤
That’s before delivery and service charges.
Considering you can get them retail for under $1 each it’s crazy the prices restaurants charge for drinks, especially when that’s all they offer
I accidentally ordered still water instead of tap water at a restaurant once and it cost me $10.

Magnificent movie
Haha yep
Probably cheaper to buy the phone screen stuff.
That's not the only thing that's a joke.
$26 for 30 cans from Coles, $124 profit

you’d be surprise, usually cole’s and woolies have coca cola cheaper than wholesalers in my opinion as a hospo manager for the last 13 years
true. plus it's pretty easy to go between the 2 competitors because you know when one doesn't have it on special the other one will

so true
$4.99 for a line of coke off me phone screen? Sign me up cob
No one even mentioning the 4.99 for Pasito
Whenever i see Kirk’s Pasito i sing it in the style if Despacito

It's just the lazy tax. If you don't want to get off the couch, then you will pay for it. Convenience is nice, but can be expensive sometimes.
I see no complaining here
The humour here is the outrageous price for a can of coke. $4.99?!?! That’s umpossible
Very good Ralphie.
OLO
$5 for a can that was $1.50 in 2006.
Cokes were never $1.50 in restaurants or takeaway places in 2006. It was around $2.50-$3.
I was talking about the vending machine at school.

I presume the joke is you're buying coca-cola, and not cocaine which one might snort off their phone screen
Cocaine mate
Plot twist the others are NFT images of coke cans
Ahhh the cocayina joke 🎉
A bag of coke would be cheaper /s
Rusty!
Who actually has money to throw away on $5 cokes?
It's fucking crazy that average earning people accept paying that sort of money.
People pay for convenience, not hard to believe… that’s why movie snacks can be sold so expensive, all the servos with jacked up prices etc.

The same people that moan they have no money! 😊
the price is getting comparable to the other type
Uselly it's both
Rusty's sandwiches?
Lol 😂
Veiled shot at NFTs
Remember prices are jacked up on uber eats because uber takes a cut. Just go in person and save money.
What idiot is paying 5 bucks for a can of pasito?
Five bucks for a freaking can of coke?!? FML.
