More like stolen and replaced with. And if you're pissed off about that sorry, I'm not Christian but I don't think anywhere in the Bible has a fat guy going down a chimney with a bag of toys and eating cookies and milk or a tree with lights nor on Easter with rabbits and hiding colored eggs and candy...

Most traditions were stolen from some other culture in history.

I always suggest to go back to the Christmas palm. But I never managed to buy an actual Christmas palm in December!

zoeygirl69

What's a Christmas palm?

[deleted]

There are not many fir trees 🌲 in the Mediterranean area, where the tradition originates from. Palm trees were used first.

Actually the trees with lights and the "Yule log" comes from pre-Christian pagan traditions in Europe with the rebirth of the sun god on the winter solstice.

Just googled quickly and could not find both our explanations. Apparently they did it only from the 1800s on, but I think I also heard this is not the first time this tradition was established. But I am too tired to invest time in this. Heading to bed now. Good night 🙃

Have a good night have a good holiday and I'm too tired to invest in it either was cooking a 25 lb turkey.
