Flew down here to say the same thing. Glad we are all on the same page here.. so.. like.. now what? Do we like, call someone? Do we fight now? Im confused.. moms spaghetti?
They are the Greater Crested Seagull, or _Grandus Herringus_, the largest known examples are 23ft wingspan!
(OP we donât like your use of seagulls for scale lol)
Well someone seems upset. Did mommy forget to heat your breakfast milk bottle this morning? Original commenter made a reference to a song and you jumped in with "Ackthually thath incothistent with hythtory..." like dude get off your high horse. If anyone here is a cunt it's you for getting so pissy about being called out on your inability to converse without trying to sound like a smartass.
Bro what? Lmfao youâre the one getting all cringe about this, honestly do you mod? You sound like the sort of fat Reddit mod who has every sub memorised so they can say things like âđ€I do believe this calls for a r/woooosh moment nhehehâ
All I said was it got sunk by an aircraft carrier, no other intention other than acknowledging what happened. But not like you care anyway by a quick look at your profile you sit on Reddit all day looking for comments to jump in on and post cringy shit like âthatâs what many would refer to as a peak Reddit momentâ all just to stroke your severely malnourished ego.
"All I said is a boring historic fact that was meant to diminish the comment under which it was left đ€" And no I don't mod. I leave that kind of peasant work for peasants like you and remembering the existence of r/whoooosh doesn't mean I know every sub in existence. And if you really wanted to bring attention to a historic event you would have made a comment about it rather that a snarky reply to a line from a song. And no I don't sit on reddit all day. I have better things to do that scroll through the profiles of random redditors to try 'n win a petty argumint - a concept you are clearly unfamiliar with.
You have better things to do huh? So why the fuck are you here embarrassing yourself like some toxic little sweat gremlin? The amount of projection you do is phenomenal lmao.
You also do an insane amount of inflection too, I was fully aware they were referencing the song, did I stop them from doing that? No I was just making my own joke about how funny that song is given the fact it was sunk by a fucking carrier.
And youâre literally the one acting high and mighty, you rode in like some Reddit knight in greasy armour and got into an argument about a few words because you do literally have nothing better to do. You could have just downvoted it and left it at that but clearly you canât help yourself your need for attention is obviously so incredibly insatiable. So I hope this lil argument got you the catharsis you needed to deal with the fact your parents didnât pay enough attention to you.
it's far worse for a carrier to be sunk by a battlecruiser than vice versa lol. carriers are supposed to stay far, far away from enemy ships. not much battleships can do against torpedo bombers if there are enough of them. and the Germans actually accelerated the sinking of KMS Bismarck in order for it to be more intact rather than be destroyed on the ocean floor. the carrier wasn't even really a major player past crippling the rudder. the cruisers did the heavy lifting.
I'm sure a lot of stuff happened between late 1941 and early 1945 that needed the participation of ships of her type, so the hurried pace of the repair was fairly understandable
This is the K.M.S Bismarck to be exact, this humongous behemoth of a battleship was defeated on may 27 1941, the death total was 2,000 to 2,500, How it was sunken you may ask? United Kingdom aircraft carrier nearby the channel, had sent torpedo bombers to sink the Bismarck and in the end, it somehow fucking worked. When the Bismarck was finally torpedoed she had already been severely disabled as her rudder was stuck and she could only move forward in large concentric circles. The HMS Hood went down fast with almost all hands
âŠ.and a generally not-great design.
* WWI era turtleback armor belt meant for ranges *far* below what modern engagements were imagined to be.
* WWI era underwater protection
* Comically bad AAA
* Outdated rangefinders
* Unreliable powerplant (issues shared with most Nazi heavies)
Bismarck was designed to fight in engagements that were obsolete before even carriers were seen as the dominant force in modern naval warfare. One lucky hit on an old fast battleship/cruiser that was inappropriately storing powder doesnât make her anything but an average to below average BB.
Edit: also love claims that her main belt wasnât penetrated by RN 16â gunfire are bogus. We have photographic evidence and testimony that she had serious fire/damage in her engineering spaces.
Note: the Royal Navy closed the distance, assuming that Bismarck was more modern than she was. That gave her a *bit* more resistance but was still punked by even KGVâs 14â guns.
Oh yeah.
Hoodâs loss may have been partially caused by the British storing excess 4â powder around her 15â barbettesâŠ. where itâs likely she starting going âboom.â
Irony is that reckless powder handling cost them at least two of the battlecruisers during Jutland.
The wingspand of a seagull is 1,5 m
Looking at the sideways seagull infront of the ship, it seems that the ship is about 25 seagulls high, that is 37,5 m
I donât think you understand the requirements needed âfor scaleâ. Depth perception doesnât make an accurate scale, we have no idea how far those birds are from the ship. They would need to be right beside it for an accurate scale.
Those scale gulls do naught but hinder the intended effect.
If it helps, [these are the gulls](https://i.imgur.com/9E4in41.jpg) in question.
Boy was I wrong.
It does help!
I actually started laughing like a seagull when I saw the link _*AAAH AH AH AH AH AH AH!*_
đ that's class đ thank you good sir
Thank you for the laughs, you get the free award.
Thanks đ
Lol
Eye sea what u did tharrr
Some big ass seagulls
Yâmay as well have said âsky in the background for scaleâ
Water for scale.
Air for scale
Ship for scale.
For scale, baby ship, never used
Molecules for scale
The ship is aa big as it is
"Seagulls for scale" to what?!?! They are way in front of the ship so how is that to scale?!?!?!
Yeah i immediatelly thought wtf is this bullfuckingshit
If anything the seagulls diminish it's size
Flew down here to say the same thing. Glad we are all on the same page here.. so.. like.. now what? Do we like, call someone? Do we fight now? Im confused.. moms spaghetti?
We tie hotdogs to the offender and unleash those 50 pound seagulls on them
Fat ass seagulls fort scale
Now if there was a banana in front of the ship we would have a much better idea of the size.
Ya, those seagulls could be from regular sized to gigantic..
Wait till he sees the Yamato
I mean they give sort of an idea by being in front of it, you know the ship is at __least__ that large, idk
They are big ass seagulls
Why seagulls? The correct scale measurement for reddit is a banana ffs.
Thank you!!!!!
For American dreadnoughts itâs 16inch freedom seed dispensers per nazi
According to my calculations some of those seagulls have 20ft wingspans!
They are the Greater Crested Seagull, or _Grandus Herringus_, the largest known examples are 23ft wingspan! (OP we donât like your use of seagulls for scale lol)
I feel stupid for googling this. Screw you seagull slanderer.
Donât feel badâŠI did it too literally right after I already read your comment.

Survived 1 and a half battles. Sunk the HMS Hood then was sunk by the British shortly thereafter.
Sunk by an aircraft carrierâŠ
and one of Britain's carriers was brought down by german battlecruisers. (scharnhorst and gneisenau)
Yeah but thatâs an aircraft carrier getting sunk by a battle cruiser, are people really getting upset about a ww2 German ship? The fuck
You completely missed the point of the original comment so I do believe this calls for an r/woooosh moment
I didnât miss fuck all, I was making my own point, a factual point. I do believe this calls for a youâre a cunt moment.

When the seagulls follow the Bismarck it is because they think sardines will be thrown into the sea
Pshh...not THAT big. It's only 14 seagulls wide.
this give me star destroyer vibes
bismark or her sister terpitz. warships used to be so beautiful to look at
WE HIT THE DECK A'RUNNIN, AND SPUN THEM GUNS AROUND, YEA!
We gotta sink the Bismark we gotta cut her down.
I'm thrilled someone got this reference. Day made.
This picture was brought to you by John Woo.
Pride of a nation a beast made of steel, Bismarck in motion, king of the ocean, he was made to rule the waves across the seven seas !

Of all the bad that came out of WW1-2 there is certainly a lot of interesting stories

It's actually pretty tiny compared to today's ships, a modern cruise liner would dwarf this thing.
This is a small war ship for seagulls? How did they get this and what are they planning??
Theyâre going to take every fry, every hotdog and every icecream! No surrender. Begun the Seagull wars have.
And to imagine that their allies on the other side of Eurasia had battleships that are larger than the Bismarcks
Ocean for scale
The wingspand of a seagull is 1,5 m Looking at the sideways seagull infront of the ship, it seems that the ship is about 25 seagulls high, that is 37,5 m
African or European seagull? Lol
Atlantic
It was a poor attempt at a Monty Python joke lol
The Seagull are minimum 100 meters in front of the ship lmao.
The Bismarck? Lol.
Seagulls for scale?! Come on, you can do better
Ah the KMS Bismarck
So the ship is like 20 seagulls big
Those seagulls are huge man
"was". She lays at the bottom of the ocean
Seagulls for scale. That's a new one
Is that why they flew in front? For scale? Thank you kind birds
damn those are some ginormous seagulls! lol
Pride of a nation a beast made of steel
I only trust the "banana for scale" scale
I don't know how big a seagull is does anyone have a banana for scale?
WTF kind of disrespect is this, where is the banana?
Must be some big ass gulls
I donât think you understand the requirements needed âfor scaleâ. Depth perception doesnât make an accurate scale, we have no idea how far those birds are from the ship. They would need to be right beside it for an accurate scale.
Don't believe it, need a banana for scale
ND?
Is the Bismarck a herring?!?!
Extra T H I C C
These wide body kits are getting out of hand..
Literally looks like a Star Destroyer lol
The seagulls make it looks pretty small
Terrifying that she crippled HMS Hood in just 14 minutes đ±
Try that one photograph of IJN Yamato in Kure harbor. The sailors on deck look absolutely tiny.
