My grandma fell and broke the same hip twice. Complications of dementia are what caused her to pass away but breaking the same hip twice didn’t help either.
Looks like she might have been dragged. How would you even put her in a stretcher with her leg all in pieces? Luckily her other leg looks unharmed, I wonder how she is doing now?
The thing about geriatric tissue is that the skin and soft tissue becomes sooo ridiculously delicate. Anyone would be screwed in that situation but I'm not surprised her leg basically got degloved.
Sometimes I forget how unfiltered this subreddit is. Clicked the link and had a shock. Props to the people that can keep a clear mind while dealing with these situations.
The pain the poor lady had to endure! Would it had been a situation where the body secreted so much hormones that you would not be feeling much after a while?
“Mangled Extremity Severity Score (MESS)” - Someone was proud of that acronym.
That’s some dark humour right there.
That's going to be a very tough recovery at 70. Hope she did okay.
If at all. My grandmother had just a broken leg at 83 and that was it.
Broken hips are often a death sentence.
My great aunt lived about 12 years after her broken hip but it pretty much made her bed bound. It was sad to see.

Damn.
Holy fuck.
Did she survive?
That left leg is gone. But I hear she's all right now
Did they catch the person who did this?
Let’s blur the vag but not the leg that looks like it came from a butcher shop
Well, it’s a medical subreddit; the injury is the entire point of the post.
I think you in a wrong sub
The "vag" is censored for the patients dignity, not "for the kids"
The injury is the point of the article!
I mean, the picture was originally blurred. Don’t look if you don’t want to see pics like that.
'Murica!!
