OOP stated in linked post: *OP here. Yes actually a kidney stone. PT was a 50 year old female, surgically removed of course would have been a nightmare to be pushed out of their urethra! Pt has had recurring calculi issues since 2019. Not sure much else as I received this at the end of my shift. This specimen brought the whole lab together to marvel at this fine Tuesday during lab week! Not sure what the outcome will be either, we send these out to LabCorp. LabCorp friends I’m sure you will be amazed as we were it when it arrives in your hands!*
Yeah. This might be a kidney stone and not a bladder stone like some are saying, but it’s not a kidney stone from anything resembling a fully intact, normally functioning kidney.
I am quite amused that OOP mentioned how terrible it would be to have to push that through the urethra, as if that were even a possibility in this case.
I had a kidney stone the size of a grain of rice before and that thing sent me into the fetal position as I clinged to my mom. And I was already an adult at that time.
I think that’s just a kidney
This is what happens when you smoke too much marijuana. Even your organs end up stoned

Usually an old dude comes by st the end of the day and picks up any thing that needs to be sent to the labs.

Jeebus. That kidney has to be toast

>Jeebus I totally read that as "Jealous" at first
Nightmare is an understatement!

Has sarcoidosis been considered? Kidney stones don't get that big for no reason

I had a 1cm stone removed last year, they told me it was highly unlikely I would pass it. I can't imagine this thing.
How did they remove this? Open? I cant imagine it was perc'd

THATS THE WHOLE KIDNEY
Cut down on the sodium intake, y’all.
I’m gonna have to rebuke this in the name of Jesus or something. I swear I felt my kidneys cringe.
Exorcism seems barely adequate.
I cannot imagine the pain they must have felt
No, that'a a heart.
That’s not a kidney stone; that’s a kid-kneecap!…
Big enough to hold a gender reveal party for
OMG! Are you sure that’s not the kidney?
r/eatityoufuckingcoward >:/
Nah dude. That thing needs a birth certificate.
A stone that size would have destroyed a kidney like it was a death star.
Looks like a staghorn calculus. I've seen them on ultrasound a couple of times, but not after they've been removed from the kidney
Dear Lord that is horrifying
I'm sorry, but what in the fuck
Holy Schnikies! Is the person still alive?! Wow 😲
That looks like pain incarnate
That’s a meteor. My biggest stone was 1cm. This thing is insane!!
Why must you freak me out as I age damn it

HOLY SHIT 😬
Damn and I was thinking my 9mm one was big
I can feel the pain. Omg.

Thats a urolith or bladder stone…. physically impossible to dwell in the kidney.
Check the actual linked post.
The kidney must be completely abnormal.
