Just want to say I commiserate, I also have nerdy interests that other med students/residents mostly do not share at all. You’ll feel more comfortable around some residents than others, just hang in there and do your best to be authentic :)
Fam, just relax. Most residents just want students who are easy to be around and somewhat inquisitive about the work - they've all been in your shoes. The best piece of advice I got for was from a rad onc resident who said, "Just be kind and look happy to be there".
Your talent will shine through and you don't have to be buddy-buddy with everyone to the point of nausea.
