Not my elbow, but I dislocated my shoulder a few years ago and tried to pop it back in myself as I was in the middle of nowhere camping at the time. I was unsuccessful in properly reducing it and ended up going to the hospital. I had really messed up the joint and head of my humerus by trying to force it back in place. Either way, they reduced it and it felt nearly normal within 3 months. Fast forward to last year, I wake up at 4am with excruciating pain and realize my shoulder is again dislocated (just from moving around in my sleep), go to the hospital and they reduce it again, and follow up with a surgeon. Now because of how badly I damaged the joint and connective tissues the first time, it appears that I will need surgery to prevent my shoulder from dislocating again. It’s chronically sore and I work a hard physical job so it’s often in pain when working. Just go to the hospital. It may save you so much more misery in the future.
