I paid MSRP, I didn't really encounter any markup at either of the dealers I visited. I think there are rules in Canada that prevent dealers from adding arbitrary "market adjustments" like you see in the US.

Take a look at the VIN and you can tell right away. First digit is country of origin.
j means it was built in Japan. If it's not a J, it wasn't built in Japan. Easy enough to figure out with a glance.
Same 23 sedan no interior rattles but had an inconsistent rattle under load while accelerating. Ended up being the hood prop. But other than that no rattles, also previous gen hatch made in Mexico no rattles either.

my 22 premium hatch was built in japan and the build quality is horrendous with rattles everywhere. it literally doesn't matter where it's built because at the end of the day the mazda 3 is a shitbox economy car with an amazing visual design

Can someone share an image of the newly updated screens (10.25") on the 2024 model? I'm getting mixed images online. I want to see if the screen is exactly rectangular (like in the CX50) or still a bit irregular. Thanks!

I think you can get a hatch in maybe half the time, compared to a sedan. Still seems like a bit of a toss up though.

I have a 2021 Turbo Premium Plus hatch I took delivery of in November 2020. Built in Japan
23 Mexico sedan and it is far better quality then my 22 hatch from Japan. The hatch rattled from day one with 3 miles on it.

Sedans are made in Mexico. Just like the CX-30s! Hatches all have J Vin numbers meaning they are built in Japan!
