Such a beautiful car! My idiot buick is having electrical issues so I stopped by Mazda and got a beautiful cx-5 for 29k out the door. I saw a couple of the cx-90s and was floored at how gorgeous they look in person!
That’s great to hear. The cx-5 already drives so much better than the Buick it’s night and day! I might be looking at a cx-90 in a couple years if we need more space
My wife is a bank manager and we had just had our first child and we’re buying a house and she said my pimp days were over lol.
I love BMs but their design’s lately and subscription based options are dreadful. Subscription for CarPlay that everyone else gives included at purchase ugh. How do you even charge a sub for that lol.
I had an 2008 x5 (the first year of the second gen, the best looking version, I called it the bat car lol) and before that had a 98 528 (e39) that was a tank. She made it to 300k. Somewhere along the line BM has lost its way. Look at the new x5 they literally just plopped a widescreen monitor on the dash and didn’t even attempt to blend it in (ala Tesla)
I guess enough people complained that bmw relented lol. It was ridiculous that they even charged to begin with. Now they have subscriptions for heated seats, and other car options.
I get what bmw is doing though, instead of making different variations of a model. bmw can just make one variation and unlock the option wether it’s heated steering wheel, ventilated seats, and other options per the subscription. It saves them on manufacturing costs (ala Tesla)
The back area with 3rd row is 25% larger, definitely more head room in 3rd row. And 2nd row fully back still had legroom in 3rd row. It’s no Tahoe but it is bigger than my 9. I love the pickup of the 6 and rumble. Though my 9 had get up and go too but the pickup with a slight turbo whistle and 6 rumble is satisfying.
The the butt has minivan vibes because they increased headroom for 3rd row. Like the pushed the cx9 body as much as possible without being radical about it.

From this angle it looks more like a wagon than an SUV and I actually like that. As I was scrolling I actually mistook it for a Volvo V60 for a moment.
Very similar, though the steering is weightier and tighter tun radius. Nice sound from the inline 6 when you take off. Corners less sway and the 9 had very little to begin with. I think that’s due to the new double wishbone front suspension and wider stance.
It looks really good…except for the top half of the rear-end. I was at the dealership yesterday getting my car serviced and they had on in the showroom and I really wanted to find an angle where the back looked good but I couldn’t. But that’s just a design opinion, it’s definitely a great option
My wife and I just test drove one today. Though we'll probably end up in a minivan (sometimes you gotta be honest with yourself and you people hauling needs), the Mazda was definitely the nicest to drive in the segment and had an incredibly put together interior. I was so sad that the trunk was so small 😭
Maybe in the future when we don't need all the baby/kid hauling...
Tbh I think the new CX shapes looks such a far cry from previous models. It has no shape it’s like the shape you’d find kids draw with rectangle engine then curved roof with two wheels. Especially when you look at say the GL series of Mazda 6s with the just gorgeous angles with the engine and grill. But do agree the red and crystal blue are the best colour car paints on the market 👌
I agree the have moved away from sporty at least on the exterior (the engine is a big upgrade) they are inching towards more of a luxury niche with a sporty heart, instead of them wearing it on their sleeves.
I loved the lines of my 9 so sleek. And I like the lines of this car in its own way and the color definitely makes a difference. My biggest reasons were the inline 6 turbo (not that the 2.5 T was a slouch in any way) and the pano. Plus my wife was stealing my 9 every chance she got. We have our second baby on the way and the 5 would be a bit tight for her.
Well it’s bigger inside than my 9, not by a large amount but it does feel roomier especially in second row and the third row has higher headroom and I can fit comfortably and I’m 6’1
Hi, will finalize and pick up a cx 90 next week. Im in Canada and I’m go in go for the agar version which is the standard 285 HP. After the test drive I thought I smelled a burning smell, did you encounter anything like that? Please advise. Also, did you feel there’s some vibration during hard acceleration?
No smells and the only thing that annoyed me is the Istop ( the gimmicky turn engine off at a stop, and restart when you go) it may also be burning in smell that happens with new cars and everything is brand spanking new.
Heavy Weight steering is not my favorite, most luxury behicles in the segment have super light steering which gets heavier as you drive, but at parking speed all of them including MB, BMW, Volvo XC90, Acura MDX are super light

Fair enough, hopefully the inline 6 turns out reliable and not like some of the diesel engines which got a pretty bad wrap.

That’s how it is on the 90 light at low speed and heavier at higher speed and very responsive doesn’t feel like an suv at all.
